Nice hotel with friendly staff”
krs pines guest house is a nice place to stay, when i reach to the bus terminal of tanah rata, cameron highland. i called to the hotel and ask whether how to get to the hotel, the staff just asked me to wait for a while and they will come and pick us up. see, their services is so good and friendly. about few minutes, the van is coming to pick us. reach to the hotel, i'm waiting for the staff solving foreigners question. the staff helps the foreigners in a polite and friendly way that his smile is keep on his face and answered the foreigner in a polite way. when he is free, he felt sorry that letting me for waiting too long, but because of his service way, we wont feel angry about it. the room is without air-conditional(it was because at night there will be very cold) and with hot and cold shower bath attached in the room. in the hotel, there's a mini coffee bar and restaurant. the food there is not expensive, and delicious. they got tour guide to bring us to the tour that we want follow and not expensive too.
Good location”
My friends and I spent two days in KRS Pines Guest House in early August. We were very satisfied with the service. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are small but cozy. As the weather at Cameron Highland is cold during the nighttime, small rooms at KRS prove to be useful in that they help keep ourselves warm. Toilets are also clean. The only thing we don't like is the habit of some visitors who dump tissue paper in the water closets despite the fact that the guesthouse does provide enough bins. This type of visitors should be more considerate towards the cleaning staff and other visitors using the toilets after them.
it's a good place to relax”
The KRS Pines Guest House is convienent. The staff there is good manner, good service, friendly and etc.The hotel price is also reasonable and the breakfast also same. The garden is very good view. The locations is very near to tanah rata. The breakfast is very good taste.
Great location, peaceful, helpful staff and amazing stay”
I travelled with my elderly mother for the first time to Cameron highlands and had originally booked twin shared bath bedroom thinking that would be enough and price was on budget too. After looking over the room I realised it was too small for our stay and luggage. We asked for double bed attached toilet upgrade and Yemin who were checking us in kindly showed available rooms then suggested to take the family room. It had twin single and one double bed but he arranged it for us at double bed attached room rate. With a few more extra ringgit we had really enjoyable stay for the night there. Total guesthouse is really tidy and neat, on both top and ground floor has open space with sofa, television where one can just chat around. At night every guests maintained a quiet environment which is great for a good night sleep after a long bus journey. He also arranged our next day half day tour, purchased tickets to next place. we were running out of time for bus after our half day tour and lunch so he even brought our luggages and tickets at the bus terminal. Overall I got more satisfying service with a home like environment and nothing to say bad. Toilet, shower and mountain views are better originally than Agoda pictures. I highly recommend this place for either family / backpacker/ couple if you are looking for a good place to stay in Tanah rata with peace, in budget with good environment and also close to bus stoppages.
Great location but basic rooms”
We stayed at KRS Pine for two nights in a twin room. The room was very basic but a decent size and clean. We had an attached bathroom with constant hot water which was also clean. I was disappointed that there were no towels or toilet paper provided. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They could book tours / day trips and the communal TV area was comfortable. The front doors are locked at 11.30pm but as this area of the Cameron Highlands is pretty quiet this was not a problem. Generally I felt the hostel was very secure. Finally, the location was good set back off the main street. It is a 3 minute walk to restaurants and shops and the hostel is also located very close to the main bus station. A good option when you consider the price.
very relaxing stay”
We enjoyed our stay at KRS Pines Guest House. It is very easy two minute walk to the center of town and has many many food options right around. The tea and biscuits at the Lords cafe was something we ate every day. It was quiet at the guesthouse and the gardens are lovely to sit and read or play cards in. The dog is nice and the staff is very helpful when booking a tour. We did ours by foot and saved a lot of money taking the local bus to the BOH tea plantation. Thank you for a great staff and good advice much appreciated.
Cameron Highlands nice place,KRS Pines near BusStn”
Nice simple clean budget hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free WiFi, Good location near Tanah Rata Rata Bus Station and plently of eating places within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay at KRS Pines Guest House. Will certainly use them again during our next visit to Cameron Highlands.
2-day stay in the KRS guest house”
I was a solo traveler wandering accross Malaysia, looking for cheap accomodation in Cameron Highlands. KRS Pines Guest House offer was a 1-bed room for about 50 RM per night. The room was clean and included a private bathroom. According to their website, wi-fi should have been available only in the lobby (sufficient for me), however, I was able to connect me laptop to the wi-fi even in my room, which was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Comfortable and near the town”
The staff is very friendly. We arrived late at midnight because of traffic problem. They greet us nicely. Situation of the guesthouse is near the tanah rata town. Many facilities such as bank, bus station and easy to get travelling agent if you would like to use their service. The place also quiet. Probably i will stay here again if i visit cameron highland
A Good Choice”
When you first arrive KRS Pines Guest House looks a bit out of town, but as the town is very compact, this isn't actually an issue. The rooms are typical of this type of hotel and a perfectly adequate breakfast was served in an extension on the side of the building. What struck me was how helpful the staff were, going out of their way to sort things out and arrange tours etc, even at short notice. One of the better and better value, places to stay in town
Great hospitality, location & affordable”
We stayed at KRS early September, and we had an awesome welcoming from staff (Raj/Rush), just took us a few mins to check in. Very friendly, polite, helpful staff. You can just walk from Tanah Rata bus terminal to KRS within 10 mins, while plenty of shops, restaurants, night markets are in walking distance. Also, because of the good weather, you don't need aircond at all but you should expect some noises from the outside world, especially the early morning rooster's cockadoodledoo! LOL OUR EXPERIENCE Traveling inside of CH: Try to make sure you don't waste your time and money on taxis, instead there are bunch of travel agencies offering you good, and affordable daily tour packages in the same place, they even come pick you up from your hotel if you want to. Good luck and have a great stay!
When all other budget accommodations are full...”
We chose KRS Pines simply due to its low price. The shared bathroom accommodation was very basic and I would not recommend this for other than budget backpackers. The room was small, had very little table space and smelled murky / perma wet. Earplugs are a must, as the barking of dogs and morning clatter of staff easily permeates through the paper thin walls. Out of all budget accommodations in SE Asia, this was the first one not to provide any towel, so make sure to bring your own towel and soaps. On a positive note, even though the bathroom/toilets were constantly wet, at least they seemed comfortably clean. KRS Pines is situated towards the end of an unpaved path, but Tanah Rata is so small that everything (including the bus station) is close-by regardless of where you stay. Brinchang town (with much more dining options) is actually accessible by foot, just take the 2,5 km "shortcut" which features a lot of good sights to boot (Parit Waterfalls with nature tracks, several small strawberry patches with cafés, all Souls Church and a golf course). You can buy painfully slow in-room wifi for RM 5 / stay. For entertainment, there's a small selection of books and magazines that you can borrow for free, as well as a TV in the common room and DVDs, but I believe the latter comes at a price. We also stayed at Twin Pines, the neighbouring sister hotel (the original of the two), which had nicer atmosphere (pleasant garden, sociable guests) but the facilities were more basic/crude and older than at KRS Pines. The wifi was faster, though. If we ever make a return visit to the Cameron Highlands, I'm very keen to try to the nearby Cameronian Inn, a classic backpacker place only marginally more expensive and, at a glance, that much nicer.
A good budget option”
We used KRS as a base to explore the Cameron Highlands and had a really pleasant stay. The staff were really helpful particularly when it came to recommending which of the local jungle walks were suitable for our 8 year old son and also when organising our onward transport. There is a quiet little garden and in general KRS Pines is a very quiet and restful place to stay.
Clean, good location, good customer service”
The guest house is very near to the bus terminals and restaurants its very convinient to find nice food around the street because they are all a fee minutes walk. The receptionist are knowledgeble about tourist needs she offered us a great tour package that makes our trip more enjoyable and fun. She has very good english communication skills so it will be very easy for an english speaking tourist to find information from her other staff are also very helpful and kind. The house is clean and quite. Beds are comfortable and they got lounge for u to watch movies or just hang around. I would definitely come back here once we decide to go to cameron again.
Cozy and comforable”
KRS Pines is definitely a great guest house for travellers / tourists to complete their journey at Cameron Highland. In KRS Pines, dwellers will have space for relaxation where television and piano are provided. They can also enjoy the cozy enviroment there at the compound / gardens. A small dedicated area is located at the compound for tourists who wish to have BBQ.
not bad”
It was my 3rd time to Cameron Highlands. about KRS: reasonably clean; location not bad (not too far to the town center and not too close to the busy town); staff friendly; BUT with this price there are much better places around Tanah Rata. I seldom complain but with this place I wasn't satisfied with the atmosphere of the hotel (not so friendly, for example no access to the kitchen for the guests, no suitable area for mingling with other gusts, etc.), the soundproofing of the room, and the shared shower condition (almost clean but sometimes no hot water). I was ALMOST satisfied with the hotel but I won't go there again.
Cheap budget option”
KRS Pines is a good value for money guest house centrally located in Tanah Rata, but 5minutes away from the main street so it's peacefull and quiet. Only the rooms are very small so I would not recommend it for families with children.
Comfortable and worth... Just the parking issue...”
The KRS Pines Guest House is a budget hotel and it's charges is reasonable and worth of value. The main issue is insufficient of parking place for vehicles. Besides this, I think they can provide a water dispenser at the lobby for the convenient of guests. Great value of money!
Good place to rest”
there is a pick up service from a bus station. the reception is very nice. she can give you an information about cameron highlands and a tour. the location is quite good, you can walk to the bus station and the restaurants near there. the restaurant at krs is good. there are menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. it's open until 11pm. there is no air conditional but it's not a problem, the weather there is cold all the time.
Good Value, but damp is a problem”
We had an adequate stay at KRS Pines. The guest house offers great value for money, with friendly and helpful staff (and Dog). They helped arrange our tours, although, this can be easily done within the town. The room was very basic, with thin walls which did not reduce noise from adjacent rooms. The guest house is not very noisy, but you can clearly hear conversations in adjacent rooms. Damp is also an issue and we ended up sleeping in our sleeping bag liners as the sheets were not dry. However, this seems to be a problem with most guest houses in the area. The shared bathroom was fairly clean and the shower was hot.
