Kuah hotels & places to stay

The adya hotel opened on the 15th of January so everything was brand new & worked very well, the staff were very helpful and friendly and professional, but once you get outside of the hotel the area ( kuah ) is a complete dump, I could not believe the rubbish thrown in the roads, there were derilict building everywhere, open sewers, broken pavements, drain covers missing on the pavements about 3ft square big enough for a small child to fall down with serious consequences, why they built this hotel in this area is a mystery. The area to stay in is cenang beach it's got lots of shops, plenty of restaurants and bars. You can rent a car / motorcycle + helmet, if you book a hotel in kuah you will regret it.

If you are looking for a budget hotel in kuah town, this is the one! The room (superior) is really spacious & clean. The price is really cheap. The swimming pool is not bad at all especially for kids. The cafe serve good food at a very affordable price. My only advice, take atleast the superior room cuz i notice many negative comments are from those staying in standard (cheapest) rooms. lol.

I was book a studio unit with a king size bed , living room and balcony. For room is Spacious and clean.For facilities , hotel have different type of swimming pool , we are enjoy our swimming especially kids. Hotel also prepare a game area which have table tennis & etc. Although this hotel don't have beach , but hotel have setup a sand area so that my kids able to play sand castle . For Breakfast , they provide variety of food . For laundry service , i m not sure does Hotel have this service or not , but there are few laundry nearby the hotel with cheap price. For Location , is near to Kuah town , but the location of hotel i think you really need to rent a car / by taxi .Overall , we are really enjoy our stay at this hotel, i will stay again if i visit Kuah next time.

Superb value for money. Enjoyed my 3 days stay here. Breakfast has huge variety, fresh fruits and live omlettes. Everything was well presented. Hotel staff is cooperative and they do their best to make you feel comfortable. Rooms are clean, bathroom clean, hot water readily available. Price is almost impossible to believe for all the services they are giving. Free parking on hotel premises! Hotel is located in Kuah and around 40 mins drive from airport. Better you rent a car for your long stay than use grab or even worse a taxi. Kuah has Langkawi Parade where you can get all the good fast food. 8 mins drive to KFC. Everything is within reach.

yeah we thoroughly enjoyed the stay the hotel is brand spanking new in a gift n small mall area with a plaza of small stores adjacent n food courts serving local fares we rented a car so we moved around daytime a lot the Kuah town is lacking in international franchisees besides McDonald's n KFC fast food outlets well KFC's are badly run here chickens are stale n hard n staff indifferent the managers are ill trained n lack people touch KFC fared badly here McDo ok Duty free us non existent here n prices are higher than KL n lack in varieties here we noticed Corellewares are commonly sold in many outlets all selling the same brands n costly so goes for brand name trainers n sports wears are all same almost as if whole Kuah town is owned by one entrepreneur by the name of Haji Ismail Group car rentals are expensive n there's not much else in Langkawi except the one main beach area with multi Outlets n of course the cable car a top the mountain is a must n only notable draw the Museum is vast area n impressive buildings bit lack exhibits n charges unfairly to foreigners n locals big differences cable car was the stories very costly for foreigners n cheap for Malaysians I must say KL Petronas twin Towers has some great people running the place I was most impressed

Good: - 1) Welcome towel was very cool with a very nice scent. 2) Staff are very quick and alert on our arrival. 3) Nicely decorated Wedding Anniversary deco on our bed. 4) Room is beautiful and we got our room on the 3rd floor which is facing the garden, pool and sea view. As we got 2 double beds, room can accomodate 4pax. 5) There are around 4 pools which 3 of them are suitable for kids. 6) Sunset view by the beach is such a bliss to witness. 7) As we were driving, it's very easy to find food outside the hotel, thanks to Langkawi Fair Mall which is about 5-10mins drive. 8) Location is at Kuah Town, we managed to visit the Eagle Square and there are souvenir shops there too. Plenty of street-side Seafood stalls and restaurants. If you're looking for factory price Minyak Gamat/Oils, there's a shop in Kuah that sells that too with the brand 'Shaari'. Bad:- 1) Beach is not suitable for walking barefooted as there many small seashells. 2) Breakfast variety is not extensive.

Surely a value for money. Easy access to nearby attractions in Kuah. Hotel was clean, easy check-in and check-out process. They have their own convenience shop downstairs (alcohol sold here). Clean bed and toilet. Hair Dryer, Instant noodles, coffees are provided in room. The best thing was the balcony with table and chairs for you to just sit and hang out! Recommended over expensive hotels.

Though the location quite far from town either kuah or cenang but that doesn't disappoint you coz you'll be blown away by their resort design & architecture, beautiful view, the surrounding resort were so clean. Their staff very friendly, they have their own parking for tourist who rent a car. Super loving the room that directly connected to the pool. You never regret staying at this resort. Only that management could improve on the selection of breakfast. I'm loving every minute staying there. Definitely worth every penny you paid. Overall Ocean Residence is the best !!

This is a good old hotel right in the Kuah Old Town. Many eateries within walking distance. Good for travellers who do not rent a car. There is a swimming pool but I did not use. Room is spacious. Furnitures are old style but acceptable. Old style mini fridge very efficient ( the new cooler plate mini fridge in newer hotels are simply hopeless. A major reason I decided to try out this old hotel in Langkawi). Cleanliness in the room is good. Good daily housekeeping. The mainly Asian daily breakfast was good for us. Room aircond is very efficient. A good 3-star old hotel. Keep up the good work. We visit Langkawi every 6 months. We will return to stay in our next trip.

The resort was luxurious from the entrance to the suites and the way staff treat you. Cleanliness, facilities and services are excellent. The private beach is very nice and the view is great. I liked the butler concept, makes me feel special. They have free TV channels too. The bar also looks good and intimate with really tasty cocktails. Location is not the best, but considering the luxury you get, it's only apt to have the resort a little reclusive. However, Kuah is not big, so a grab drive 5-10 minutes out you already can reach shopping malls and cinema. My only complaint is that the shower head in my suite kept dropping. Otherwise everything was great.

We decided to stay here because of the previous good comment. Eventhough at first its a bit hard to find but once we know the place, its actually easy to find. First day we were greet by the owner.What a warm greeting from him. The apartment/condo is big,spacious which suits our family well. The best part is it is really clean & well maintain. They also provided the water dispenser which is good as we no need to buy the mineral water & easy for us to prepared the hot drink. All rooms well equiped with aircond. If you are travelling with kids do bring together a swimsuits as they also have a pool. Since this apartment/condo is located in kuah, so its a bit far from the beaches. We will definetly stay here again cause of the extra effort from the owner.

As travelled with a 16th months baby & a 10yr old active boy. A good hotel at convenient location come handy. The 2 storey Riverra Hotel is rather new in Kuah town & not difficult to find via Waza (mobile app). Room is pretty simple & clean, Wifi is a plus point to this hotel. We have pretty good connection in our room.The restaurant at hotel was closed due to fasting month, but food isn't an issue because it's only 5 min drive to nearby eateries. We booked our island hopping trip (adult RM35/Children RM30 incldg Hotel pick up) via the hotel & no complaint at all as the little one had so much fun along the boat trip. Generally happy with Riverra Inn & will come back again.

The rooms are spacious, complete with the kitchen, dining table and living room for u to watch tv, spend time with family. The location for the hotel is very near to the town, and is located behind Langkawi Parade. Everything is a few pebbles away. The housekeeping is done everyday in the morning and u can have ur breakfast (if it does not charged together), it is good for u to try and eat a stall near to jeti at pekan rabu kuah. Overall, the hotel is awesome! Only that u need to bring ur own water and best if u can provide a kettle for a proper hot water to drink compared to coway. Anyways it was worthy and very cheap for a family room apartment style. Thank u!

Less then 5 minutes walk to HIG mall, cafe, halal food stall for breakfast, satay for late night dinner, food truck sell laksa, nasi kerabu, nasi kukus and selection of dessert (kue) taste of kelantanese. Took about a minute drive to pekan kuah (coco valley, duty free mall, banks) about 5 minutes drive from jetty kuah to this motel. Actually, this motel share building with buddha temple (ground floor level). Value for money and family friendly.

Triple Sharing Room #204. PROs: + Staffs: friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Owner was kind & considerate to extend our check out time with reasonable price (RM10/hr) after we returned from the island hopping activity ~4pm. Need to inform the staff first. Other hotel might've charged us full day rate. + Spacious & clean room, comfy bed, kids love the swimming pool. + Near to Kuah jetty for island hopping activity, seafood restaurants in Kuah area, and the best Langkawi roti canai stall is just next to the hotel. + Aircond, fan, water heater, TV, wardrobe, towels, shampoo/soap, kettle & instant beverages, strong WiFi. + Others: Sea view, fishing enthusiasts would appreciate this hotel. CONs: - no elevator, not suitable for elderly/wheelchair access unless request for ground floor room. - had difficulty to open the main door with the given key. - the remote TV didn't function. We used our phone app as remote. - the door mat & bathroom cleanliness can be further improved.

There are afew landlords in this same buildings, so when i book, i got contacted by 2 different personal, which is very confusing, and in the end caused double bookings. The location is good, near to the eateries and small shopping mall, if u wan to live in the city, otherwise i advice staying near the beaches where all the entertainment are saturated there. The price is cheap for a big family..The master bedroom aircon is old and not cold enough, the mattress is old, can feel the springs on your back when u sleep, the curtains is too thin to cover the harsh sunlight coming from the windows. there are spider webs in the corners of the rooms. The bathroom doors are like rotting away. The rest of the rooms's mattress are fine.

Great location in Kuah Town, just 5 minutes from the jetty. Very nicely decorated interior. Comfortable beds in all rooms. All manner of kitchenware is available. There is a fridge and ironing board (with iron). Only complaint is that the master bedroom had no hot water. There was an electric hot water heater in the bathroom (like 99.9% of Malaysian homes) but there was no switch to turn it on. In comparison, the shared bathroom had the same electric heater, and had a switch outside the bathroom to turn on. Would stay again.
