Great location, great service”
Located right in the centre of the Kuching Waterfront area, without a doubt the best thing about this place is the excellent location, followed closely by the friendly staff. The shuttle bus stop is close by, and you can ask the hotel staff to book it so that it picks you up right in front of the hotel. The main bus stop (no. 1) is a few minutes walk away, for destinations accessible by public transport. A large shopping centre (Plaza Merdeka) is about 10 minutes walk away, and of course there's the waterfront itself, which has some great views and plenty of food stalls. Finally Chinatown is also just behind the hotel for an excellent taste of local food, including Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and generally fluent in English - I definitely recommend going over your plans with them as they will be able to give you all sorts of tips and tricks to enhance your experience. They're also very enthusiastic when talking about the local culture and scenery - it's clear that they love their city and it's contagious. The lodge itself is beautifully designed in traditional Chinese style (Nyonya I think?), and the owner has acquired all sorts of interesting antiques as decoration. The sky-well is another interesting feature. The building is mostly wood and can be a bit creaky. The room was a bit small and the view was not great (but maybe just luck). The bed was wooden and was quite creaky. There were only two electrical sockets (one of which didn't connect very well) and our tap dripped sometimes. There was no wireless connection in the room (so you have to use the lobby), but the staff told us they were planning to install routers in the rooms soon. Apart from these minor gripes, the room was clean and comfortable, and quite pleasantly decorated. To sum up, the excellent location, friendly staff and beautiful building design as well as affordable price make this place an excellent recommendation for your stay in Kuching.

Great location and ambiance”
I chose the Kuching Waterfront Lodge especially for its location and local Sarawak ambiance, and in that regard, I was very satisfied. It was great being able to walk out of the front door right onto the waterfront and also be within walking distance of most places I wanted to go. I stayed for a total of four nights in early August in two different rooms. I must mention that I booked a double room and never received one, being given a twin-bed room both times. I understand that the Rainbow Music Festival was approaching and that the hotel was fully booked especially at the end of the first week of August, but when you reserve something, you expect to get it. Also, the wi-fi in this hotel is downright awful in the rooms and needs to be remedied. It's not fun leaving the cool air-conditioning in the room to have to use wi-fi in the humid lobby or common areas. That being said, if I ever find myself in Kuching again, I'd probably stay again.

Quaint and value-for-money ”
Kuching Waterfront Lodge is a wonderful shophouse travelodge that sits right at the river side. There are numerous amenities and travel sights that are within a short walking distance. The area is quiet at night but I never felt unsafe. The rooms can be rather small and dated but it is comfortable. There are many unique and classic pieces of furniture around the property. And although you have to climb a flight of stairs to your room, you can always ask for help at the front desk. Plus the price makes it value-for-money.

Friendly helpful staff in a fantastic location”
I went to Kuching with my 4 sisters. Our age ranges from 54 to 72. I requested and got my 2 rooms on the ground floor. Response was very fast. When we arrived, our clean rooms were ready waiting. My oldest sick was sick and we enquired where to get treatment. The staff directed us to clinics and the hospital, called a cab for us . My sister was admitted to Kuching hospital. All the staff enquired about her condition everyday. We were touched. Thank you Ptrick, Tini, Rano, Rashid and all the staff. We extended our stay there to 6 nights instead of moving to Santubong area. They handled our tours, our car rental and all questions well. We met many lodgers who are regulars at waterfront lodge. This, I believe is a tribute to their service

It was amazing stay in this lodge. Old Building with well maintenance. The price of Room with attached bathroom was so reasonable! The cleanliness was super clean, which I never expected! Definitely will come back again~ It located in very strategic location, Waterfront just opposite the lodge, attractions are just nearby.

Perfect spot for Kuching”
Very nice b&b, located at the waterfront of Kuching river. Kitchen facilyties mavailable. Breakfast is just toast and jam, but you bring whatever you like and store in the fridge. Personell is very friendly and helpful.

lovely service and helpfull people”
I really liked the place, I could walk alot around the chinatown of KUching and ofcourse on the waterfront. The staff was very helpfull and lovely and helped me with short trips and would always ask how my day was and what I had done that day. Also very good advice on prices. I would definately stay here again and advice people to stay here! Breakfast could be better but hey walk around the corner for an outstanding laksa! Tea & coffee troughout the day are free so that covers the breakfast ;)

stylish furnishing and decor as what you view from the internet or magazine, just like living in an historical building. its awesome! great location (at the main bazaar) with very friendly staff, and the price is very reasonable and fair for this standard. i would say it is a must stay hotel in kuching, dont miss it!

Sweet little Hotel at the waterfront”
I enjoyed my stay at Waterfront Lodge very much. The place is run by a very friendly and competent staff. They do whatever is in their range of possibilities to make your stay a pleasant one. They answered me all questions and I had a lot!. I booked several tours and taxi drives, it was all perfectly organized. There are two rooms facing the Main Bazaar, these are pretty noisy from the noise of cars and motorcycles, unfortunately I had one of them. The positive aspect was the nice verandah facing the river. I'd come again, anytime!!!

we stayed there for two days that is before we travelled to bako national park and after. during our stay in the national park, we could leave our luggage at this hotel itself. they have couteous staff. the waterfront is an amazing place with an amazing view in the evening. as such you do not get this view from the hotel itself. the hotel does not have any windows but its a nice place to stay.

Strategic & Pretty Interior”
I've read some reviews of this lodge about the "smell" during rainy day.. It was ok while i stayed there during the rainy day. The reception was nice & friendly. What i like the most during the stay is, it felt like a family "hosting" their visitors. Will recommend this place to the rest. Oh by the way, if you're looking for souvenir, its located next door and don't forget to enjoy the beautiful scenery of waterfront

a pleasent stay”
the hotel is nice, clean and in the middle of Kuching at the famous waterfront, however the hotel is not suitable for guests with leg problems or old age, while you have to climb the stairs to reach your room, breakfast was lousy, the 3 day a bit better. Recommended for backpackers !

really lovely helpful staff. hotel was really well preserved as a traditional type lodge. breakfast area clean & plenty of utinsels etc. room a bit of a strange shape i had to pull the tv table across the room to view tv from my bed! also a bit small but all clean && comfortable.

Good performance staffs”
This lodge is near to waterfront and behind street is china town, very convenience locations. We stayed during Malaysia day, we could view the events of boats and firework in front of window of lodge. The breakfast is so so, as only bread and banana only. Very nice staffs to assist in booking for tours. Take the boat as RM1 to buy layer kek. The best things is that you must see the orang utan at 9am and 3pm on feeding time.
