Kunjpur Guest House

Located in remote area, unprofessional staff, rooms / bathroom / linen stinking. Food is horrible. Not at all worth. I wont recommend to any body else.

Only negative is that we both got very ill during our stay here, would advise travellers goong here to check how they prepare the food (with mineral water?) and to watch ice in drinks/bottled water given to us where the seal was already broken.

This place is a bit interior and not easy to pick up transport easily . A well decked mansion with nice art and furniture . Food etc is only on order make sure it is done at least one hour ahead . A quiet place to sit back and enjoy a home like comfort .

Huge, comfortable room in a quiet and elegant villa. Couldn't end up in a better place. The owner is really helpfull and so all the workers there. What impressed me it's the room that is huge! Hot water, comfortable bed and even a surprising private living room. Overall, fantastic!

Mr. Nigam runs a tight operation in this beautiful and well decorated manse. Any arrangements or travel help we needed were made for us, including a drive to a travel agent for rail tickets. Dining is communal and the food is tasty and comes their nearby farm. There are often events and weddings here so it can be busy, but the celebrations give the place a festive vibe. Some rooms are right off the dining area so could be bit noisy if guests are talking out there. We stayed in a rooftop room which was the quietest room we've had except each night for a little while people were dining and making a lot of noise outside on the roof. Kunjpur is a little out of the way but only a tuk tuk ride from monuments, museums, and Sangam. If you want a driver for the day, ask for Dipu and his e-rickshaw. I'd certainly recommend Kunjpur if you go to Allahabad.

The Kunjpur Guesthouse is run by the family who used to live in this large house. The house itself is beautiful and family members are friendly and helpful. However, our overall experience was marred by a few faults that should be correctable. The first problem was that our bookings were messed up. We originally booked two deluxe rooms, but on arrival, they offered us one executive room. After some complaining, we were given two rooms, but after a long train journey, we did not want to have to fight to get what we had booked. The problem may have been caused by a wedding party that had booked in during our stay. This also made the guesthouse relatively noisy - particularly when the party came back late at night. The facilities were generally good with two big exceptions. In the first room I stayed in, the shower had no hot water. The hot water had been attached to a tap at about knee level, while there were two cold water inlets to the shower. This is something that really should have been corrected. Even when we moved to the two deluxe rooms, each time I wanted a shower, I had to ask for the pump to be turned on - otherwise the shower only came out as dribble. With the pump, the shower was OK, but in my mind the pump should have been turned on at all times. The other problem with the facilities was the Wifi which was so slow as to be practically unusable. Websites frequently timed out because of the slow and intermittent connection. Despite all these negatives, the guesthouse is fundamentally good value. The problems we experienced are all fairly easy to solve, and if they are, this guest house would be a great option.

If I were you I would not waste time looking for accommodation in Allahabad.Just stay in here. I checked what it was supposed to be the best hotel in Allahabad, Kujunpur is the best value for the money.

Guest house with still some more work to do. Overall we had good experience. Good home cooked food made my real locals.
