Great honeymoon experience at Maldives”

Stayed in the island for 4 nights and enjoyed the hospitality of Kuramathi island. Good: Great facility, most of the staffs are friendly, helpful and greet us well. We lived in water villa with pool in the first 2 nights of our stay and moved to sunset pool villa on last 2 nights. Have a memorable memory especially the water villa, fully renovated, new, clean, located strategically near the Faridvaldhu restaurant/ 3rd reception hall and spacious. Direct access to the sea. We would like to recommend Malafaaiy restaurant location in central of the island. all the staffs are friendly, food are delicious compared to other restaurants. Some of them even remember our preferred drinks and room number, it was really great. The snorkelling safari and submarine activity was great experience. We were also lucky enough to see dolphine although it is not near from us. The sandbank is a great place to visit. Sunny and great weather with excellent natural view. The room cleaning service was good in sunset pool villa, not water villa in the first 2 days. Not so good: A lot of ants were found in our room in sunset pool villa. We have ordered champagne and never open. But, the hotel still charged us during departure back to malaysia, claiming that we have open it. It left a bit of unhappy memory for our trip. Tips: Get water villa with pool if you can, get the seaplane transport if you are first time to maldives. Malaafaiy restaurant is highly recommended.

Best Impressive for first visit in Maldives”

Comfortable, boutique resort with friendly staffs, romantic place for couples
The resort accommodations are far from one another and in order to go to each place, you have to call for bus service and it took times. May be during my stay, there are quite a number of guests, so the bus can not be on time

Kuramathi island resort is our choice for the first visit to Maldives. Refering to many good reviews from the hotel guests, I also would like to recommend this resort for honeymooners or couples for holidays. This boutique resort provides you the best atmosphere--lots of places to visit, lots of green(beautiful gardens), and many nice restaurants.I love to re-visit them again. This resort makes my first trip to Maldives most impressive eventhough there are rains during my stay between 17-20 May 2010.

Good Value-for-Money for Honeymooners”

Friendly Staff, Good Location, Nice Facilities

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and, to be fair, this was our first and only time at the Maldives. Having said that, we did do an extensive research of all of the avaialble resorts at the Maldives and we have narrowed down the list to about 4. Kuramathi prevailed as being the one with best value-for-money as we were seeking an overwater villa. When we arrived, the island did not disappoint as we were treated by the staff as if we were royalty. Our room was very nice and I still cannot get over the memories of being able to snorkel right outside of our room's veranda. The food was great although it had a very distinctive Indian flare to it everytime - I'm not going to categorize this as either good or bad as this would depend upon your taste.

Tropical Paradise”

For my first visit to the Maldives, I could not have imagined a better property than Kuramathi. The entire island is a tropical garden, tended every day, with a botanical walk and countless beautiful trees and plants. The diving was excellent, and the dive masters highly professional. Ebrahim was a joy to dive with - calm, capable, and knowledgeable. The food was amazing at my Farivalhu restaurant, thanks to the French chefs and Patrick, the head waiter from Singapore. The staff was always friendly and helpful. For a special insight into how the resort sustains itself in an ecologically sound manner, ask Assistant Chief Engineer Mr. Avinash for a tour of the physical plant facilities.

Fabulous Stay”

staff, food, location

We had a fabulous stay at Kuramathi. This was our 4th trip to the Maldives and equally as great as our other stays except this was the best for food. It was excellent. We had full board but also ate at The Reef and the Indian Restaurant but the food in the buffet you couldn't fault. Lots of food and variety. We also upgraded to the Basic All Inclusive to include all of our drinks. We stayed in a deluxe ocean villa which was on the quiet end of the island and it was fantastic.

Must-go Paradise!!!”

Friendly and helpful staff, Close to nice diving sites, Beautiful house reef for snorkeling

This has been the best sun-shine trip we have ever had! On our arrival at 10am, we had been welcomed by nice and friendly staff; and within 15 minutes, our room had already been ready for us. We stayed at water villa, which the restaurant and the jetty is just at our door step (1 minute walk). We can straightly jump into the ocean and snorkel from our balcony, snorkeling channels or the house reef, beautiful coral and fishes are just everywhere! Another activity we did on the island is scuba diving and it was absolutely an amazing experience! The island is just so close to lots of diving sites (with beautiful reefs and hammerhead shark point), with only a maximum of 10-15 mins boat ride you can start to discover the magical part of the ocean. On our very last day, our check-out time was 12noon, so we packed all our luggage and left them outside our villa before we went to our final snorkeling adventure. The hotel is so caring that you can go to the spa center for a comfortable shower even you no longer have a room and it's free of charge. Our stay at Kuramathi is absolutely memorable and we will be back!

wonderful resort in paradise”

great dive centre & extensive variety of speciality restaurants and other facilities

Kuramathi is a large resort island but does not feel busy or crowded. Rooms of differing types are spread well and are accessed by well maintained sandy paths and walkways through wonderfully maintained tropical gardens. We went for scuba diving and the Kuramathi has one of the best resort diving centres I have come accross anywhere in the world. There are bars and restaurants to suit many tastes. A small army of employees keep the resort immacculate and the beach swept. We would go back - tomorrow!

Great Vacation”

Food, scuba diving, over-water villas, spa

We really enjoyed Kuramathi and don't have any complaints. The food and service were good, there were plenty of water activities offered, and the loding was beautiful. It is also one of the larger islands, so you need a shuttle bus to take you from one end to the next (or about a 20 minute walk.) The only negative thing we could say is that it did not compare to the two other Maldives resorts we stayed at (Kurumba and Velassaru.) These other two islands were smaller with more personalized service. Snorkel equipment and Internet were free, and two large complimentary bottles of water were left in our room every day (as well as a daily itinerary of everything the island offered that day.) These smaller details, as well as the more personalized service made us prefer the other two islands over Kuramathi. However, we still had a wonderful stay at Kuramathi, with no complaints. We also had a particularly wonderful experience with the spa there. My husband and I both recieved hair cuts that we were very happy with, and our couples massage was excellent.

Beautiful island with fantastic snorkeling”

Lush island, great house reef, good dive shop and kids club

Our stay at Kuramathi was our first trip to the Maldives. Wonderful snorkeling right outside our room--no need to take a boat to a good snorkeling site. The house reef was fantastic! My husband did quite a bit of diving and was very pleased with the professionalism of the dive shop. My 5 and 7 year old children had a great time in the well supervised kids club.

Fabilous vacation in paradise! ”

Without a doubt the best vacation we've ever had and the greatest location we've ever visited. We snorkled and marveled beautiful corals, swam with great variety of colorful fish, a ray, family of small friendly sharks and ALL this just 50 meters from our bungalow 's front door! The food was without compare and the staff maticulous in everything as well as always in good cheer. Can't wait to get back to the Maldives!! Most definately a paradise on Earth.

What a place! Bit really it’s the service that’s tops! ”

There’s really nothing I can say negative about my stay at Kuramathi. I stayed in the beach villa with a pool on the Laguna side. Every morning was stunning blue Waters. The food was great the service was even better than that. I really have no complaints of any kind. From the minute I got to the airport and found the desk to when I got off the seaplane everything was taken care of it’s like being treated five star all the way. A Good resort!”

Kuramathi is a big island and it's fit for a family with kids to stay for 4-5 days. We booked the FULLBOARD Package but there were no free drink even water at restaurant. Also, the breakfast buffet are very good but the lunch and dinner are not well. You would feel bored on the FB meal and visit other chargeable restaurant. In addition, all outdoor activities should be BOOKED a week in advance. Otherwise, no availability if you walk-in even you check the booking 2-3 days before...

Tips: 1. The boat ride is just a 60-70 min ride. 2. housekeeping is done twice a day. 3. Mini bar in the room has good and reasonable options. 4. water is free for breakfast but chargeable for lunch and dinner . 5. the beach right at the PALMS restaurant has the best unhindered view and sun beds to relax. 6. Infinity pool at the LANGUNA bar has the best sunset view. For a more private infinity pool experience go to the FUNG Bar pool. 7. The island is big enough to go around and explore just in case you are not a kind of person who likes being in the room all the time. 8. Begin your day early in the morning as it gets extremely hot in the afternoon and the scorching sun makes it difficult to spend time on the beach from 1pm to 5pm. 9. Do not forget try in house ice Cream at the PALMS. Over all an amazing experience at this beautiful island with a lot of activities to do and kind staff.

A true Paradise Island”

Rooms, restaurants, snorkelling, beaches.
The costs can get very high if you are not on an all inclusive package.

We stayed at the resort for 4 nights and wish it could have been 50. Our room was a water villa and it was set upon a beautiful blue lagoon. The diving and snorkelling is superb - Rashdoo Divers runs dive safaris to Ari atoll when you get tired of the local dive sites. I would highly recommend the resort.

Magical, relaxing, quiet”

Well organized, friendly attentive staff

We enjoyed our three day stay at the hotel! Well worth money spent. We took and hour long boat ride to get there and then took the seaplane back to experience both transportations (and a bit cheaper). Great experiences on both. Reached the hotel and was greeted by the staff then sat down and had a guide explain how everything worked, where everything was, and what was available in our package (we ended up upgrading to all inclusive - totally worth it as it included sunset cruise with champaign, free scuba gear and sailing, as well as a boat ride to the local island with more cultural satisfying findings (gifts etc.). Internet was not free but thats a good thing (as it prevented our addiction to the electronics! We stayed in a lovelyl beach villa, though initially disappointed that the sea view was blocked by trees - we quickly got over it by the rest of the surroundings. The all inclusive was great - the buffet was great every day. We were always stuffed and could have done without the gaining weight :) ) We took the snorkeling excursion, although we dont like the fact if you sign up you cant camel without penalty fee, BUT it did force us to go when we were feeling lazy and we were glad we did!! With a personal guide showing us all the fish and sea animal around it was a very enjoyable time!!! Something not to be missed! My only complaint were the guests - (really ! some looked so positively not happy and not because of the resort by any means they just in general looked depressed - perk up guys! your on vacation!! ) We mostly enjoyed the open air cinema night and live band performances (that was an added bonus I didnt know about until we saw the activity board! ) Great job! Keep up the good work!!

Remained are happy!”

Service, rooms, beach, breakfast

There is own museum and ecological walk on island which tells about trees, animals and plants. Near the coast the whole flights of small sharks, and in the evening peroonal feed slopes. At restaurant prepare astounding desserts - all is wanted to try at once! A variety of fish for a breakfast-dinner-supper isn't present - only a tuna. Few times there was other fish, but it was given in the small portions. The home reef is on the verge of death. Snorkeling about island the awful. But it is a lot of places where it is possible to bathe without fear to attack a sharp coral. Unfortunately during our stay in the sea have appeared "Portuguese man of war" therefore some days it was impossible to swim. The hotel personnel has operatively reacted to occurrence of jellyfishes and has hanged out the announcement of danger.

Fantastic marine life, room but mgmt needs 2 impro”

Fantastic marin life Great water villas with Jacquzi
Need imporovement on hotel mgmt services

Fantastic marine life, great water villa with Jacquzi. Need improvement on resort management services. My husband and I spent a total of 6 nights in Kuramathi. The experience would have been fantastic if not for the inadequately managed services. For the whole story, read below. Bad experience using basic all inclusive upgrade. Immediately at check-in, we paid for a basic all inclusive upgrade. However, for the next 5 meals/drinks when the upgrade was in effect, we were given bills to sign for even though the items were supposed to be included in the basic. This happened even though we asked the staff to check and update the system every single time it happened. When this happened, they had to call back the main reception and reprint our bills, which took a while. It stopped only when we travelled all the way to the main reception and informed them on this. Bad experience on renting snorkelling gear. When we requested to rent the snokelling gear on the first day at the reception nearest to our villa, they informed me that it was not available and would only be available in the evening. We checked again in the evening but were told to check again the next morning. Next morning came and it was still not available. We checked again during lunch and was told to go to the main reception and after travelling all the way there, we were told to check back after 2pm (we were there at 1pm) as the marine shop is closed! Marine shop is closed 12-2pm. When we came back again at 2pm, we only managed to rent one set of gear and one pair of flippers as they ran out of masks. We were told that masks would only be available the following day. Management needs to take note that facilities should be open during lunch time. This is the time when customers are out about running errands. We asked for 'courier' services to transport the gears to our villa but we were told they do not provide that. They could have made us happy by doing that as we have already wasted so much time running a

Excellent resort and great value for money”

Check in - check out; attentive staff; excellent activities

Stay at Kuramathi was very good and relaxing. I would like to point out two things which need improvement: The buffets in the full board left a lot to be desired both quality, quantity and variety wise. The Wifi access speed wise was fine, but it was extremely cumbersome to log in every time with a username and password. If the connection wasnt used for 15 mins (i guess), it would be logged out.
