A Good resort!”
Kuramathi is a big island and it's fit for a family with kids to stay for 4-5 days. We booked the FULLBOARD Package but there were no free drink even water at restaurant. Also, the breakfast buffet are very good but the lunch and dinner are not well. You would feel bored on the FB meal and visit other chargeable restaurant. In addition, all outdoor activities should be BOOKED a week in advance. Otherwise, no availability if you walk-in even you check the booking 2-3 days before...
Water villas are perfect. Other options less interesting but still nice. Very good kitchen for all inclusive, different cousins every evening plus you can choose from 3 restaurants for dinner. Sand bank is very nice. Good snorkeling, lot of fish and sharks
• All staff are friendly especially Racquel at the reception counter & Riza at Farivalhu restaurant! • Lots of reef sharks & small fishes around my villa, great for snorkelling • Tasty buffet meals at Farivalhu restaurant • Had the best sleep quality in the villa, giving me an opportunity to recharge myself • Love the place so much that I don't want to leave :)
Great honeymoon experience at Maldives”
Stayed in the island for 4 nights and enjoyed the hospitality of Kuramathi island. Good: Great facility, most of the staffs are friendly, helpful and greet us well. We lived in water villa with pool in the first 2 nights of our stay and moved to sunset pool villa on last 2 nights. Have a memorable memory especially the water villa, fully renovated, new, clean, located strategically near the Faridvaldhu restaurant/ 3rd reception hall and spacious. Direct access to the sea. We would like to recommend Malafaaiy restaurant location in central of the island. all the staffs are friendly, food are delicious compared to other restaurants. Some of them even remember our preferred drinks and room number, it was really great. The snorkelling safari and submarine activity was great experience. We were also lucky enough to see dolphine although it is not near from us. The sandbank is a great place to visit. Sunny and great weather with excellent natural view. The room cleaning service was good in sunset pool villa, not water villa in the first 2 days. Not so good: A lot of ants were found in our room in sunset pool villa. We have ordered champagne and never open. But, the hotel still charged us during departure back to malaysia, claiming that we have open it. It left a bit of unhappy memory for our trip. Tips: Get water villa with pool if you can, get the seaplane transport if you are first time to maldives. Malaafaiy restaurant is highly recommended.
The hotel staff services is friendly but not many smile face , the room in the water villa not much fish. the foods in the restaurant is great, the hotel activitiy have to check from the reception, so is not convenient, the snorkeling equipment need to rent. The room replace drinking water in the morning with 2 small botter only need more have to buy.
The check in time shd be 2pm but we arrd at 9am, they still arranged us to a garden villa to hv a short rest. until check in time, its so considerate. As a full board resort, its so detailed-mind as they provide different cuisine every nite and the tastes are always good! I did join an one hour snorkkeling course and my coach, Mr Najih. Hes so professional and patient. Overall the hotel is very good but the its a must to take seaplane to connect between airport & resort whichs a bit expensive, US600 for 2 ppl. Anyway.. i shd rate it as a 5-star resort rather than 4-star one!
This has been the best sun-shine trip we have ever had! On our arrival at 10am, we had been welcomed by nice and friendly staff; and within 15 minutes, our room had already been ready for us. We stayed at water villa, which the restaurant and the jetty is just at our door step (1 minute walk). We can straightly jump into the ocean and snorkel from our balcony, snorkeling channels or the house reef, beautiful coral and fishes are just everywhere! Another activity we did on the island is scuba diving and it was absolutely an amazing experience! The island is just so close to lots of diving sites (with beautiful reefs and hammerhead shark point), with only a maximum of 10-15 mins boat ride you can start to discover the magical part of the ocean. On our very last day, our check-out time was 12noon, so we packed all our luggage and left them outside our villa before we went to our final snorkeling adventure. The hotel is so caring that you can go to the spa center for a comfortable shower even you no longer have a room and it's free of charge. Our stay at Kuramathi is absolutely memorable and we will be back!
Although it is a little pricey, the rooms and surroundings are maintained very well. Clean and comfortable. Staffs are good and friendly (mostly). Nice beaches and view. Food is good but lack variety.
Wonderful stay for the whole family”
We spent 6 days in Khuramathi and were just so impressed by everything, from the friendliness of staff, especially with young kids, excellent buffet, very professional diving instructors, super kids club, and of course wonderful beach and water. They are also trying really hard on eco-friendliness. Overall an excellent stay, with only two areas for improvement: they could provide bicycles for guests to go round the island as it is quite big instead of mini-buses and organise for earlier dinner time for kids ( at the moment it is 7.30 which is a bit late). We definitely hope to be back ( and our children too)
Relaxing hotel with good service from the staff”
the hotel is a nice relaxing resort. eventhough it is during the peak season and most villas are occupied, you will not feel very crowded as the resort is quite spacious. lots of beach chairs available and no need to stay crowded in one beach as there are lots of beaches around the resort island. staff are polite and friendly.
wonderful resort in paradise”
Kuramathi is a large resort island but does not feel busy or crowded. Rooms of differing types are spread well and are accessed by well maintained sandy paths and walkways through wonderfully maintained tropical gardens. We went for scuba diving and the Kuramathi has one of the best resort diving centres I have come accross anywhere in the world. There are bars and restaurants to suit many tastes. A small army of employees keep the resort immacculate and the beach swept. We would go back - tomorrow!
A best place for honeymoon and anniversary!”
All employee are good services! The room is comfortable n view is amazing! Kuramathi island resort really a nice place for honeymoon and wedding anniversary! The food of choice on buffect also many and taste nice! I will recomment my friend to stay at kuramathi when they are going to maldives! It really awesome! Love it so much! A best memories n unforgetable trip at kuramathi!
Remained are happy!”
There is own museum and ecological walk on island which tells about trees, animals and plants. Near the coast the whole flights of small sharks, and in the evening peroonal feed slopes. At restaurant prepare astounding desserts - all is wanted to try at once! A variety of fish for a breakfast-dinner-supper isn't present - only a tuna. Few times there was other fish, but it was given in the small portions. The home reef is on the verge of death. Snorkeling about island the awful. But it is a lot of places where it is possible to bathe without fear to attack a sharp coral. Unfortunately during our stay in the sea have appeared "Portuguese man of war" therefore some days it was impossible to swim. The hotel personnel has operatively reacted to occurrence of jellyfishes and has hanged out the announcement of danger.
Paradise Island with Great People”
pros: 1) quality of service (helpful, friendly & patient throughout) 2) always attended to guest's request (eg. to allocate water villa room & to allocate earliest seaplane transfer in the morning as we wished for) 3) early check-in upon our early arrival, with breakfast provided even before normal check-in time. 4) fixed table arrangement for full board restaurants (minimise hassle for waiting for our table) 5) serenade dinner (special “honeymoon wish” decoration) 6) complimentary fruits & a bottle of wine for our honeymoon 7) cleanliness of the entire island 8) stingray feeding 9) settlement of bills on the night before check-out day 10) the long sandbank on the west of the island is great
Very big island!!”
I stayed in the Water Villa (Full Board), I think it's better than Water Villa Jacuzzi. Because Jacuzzi side is very high wave and difficult to swim without airbags.. Water Villa side is very quiet and no wave so I could swim in the see at night. Buffe food is nice but not very much. But even you get bored the buffe dinner, you can go to other restaurants which is Italy, Thai, Indian food.
Perfect for honeymoon”
Staff are friendly, food are good, awesome view from our room 😄
A delightful Babymoon - A bad start to a good ending...”
The bad... Arranging sea plane was confusing... Reservation team simply email a whole chunk of information. Robotic answer. Resort to calling them, and a clearer and simpler answer was provided. Reach male airport and no staff was at their airport booth. Had to manually check in with the seaplane for myself and my preggie wife. Mood spoiler!!! The Good... Welcome crew serve with a smile, warm welcome and very custom check in experience. Nice island size that offer us space to have a walk., not forgetting beautiful sea view. Free upgrade - always nice but didn't get to see what i was suppose to get. PS. House reef is mostly dead unless you snorkel far out. Full-board food can be better. Overall will visit again when budget permits.
Fabilous vacation in paradise! ”
Without a doubt the best vacation we've ever had and the greatest location we've ever visited. We snorkled and marveled beautiful corals, swam with great variety of colorful fish, a ray, family of small friendly sharks and ALL this just 50 meters from our bungalow 's front door! The food was without compare and the staff maticulous in everything as well as always in good cheer. Can't wait to get back to the Maldives!! Most definately a paradise on Earth.
The island is large. The staff is friendly and helpful. The full board allows us to eat buffet freely in 3 restaurants without reservation in advance - Haruge, Malaafaiy and Farivalhu. I had tried all these restaurants and won't recommend Haruge as less choices and staff was impolite. The staff in Haruge told us that we need to reserve before we eat. However, no reservation was requested in the other 2. So I highly recommend Malaafaiy and Farivalhu. The buffet dinner would be changed daily with different topics. The sand bank is beautiful and good for watching the sunset. One of the disappointment is that there was no yoga instructor during my stay.
For my first visit to the Maldives, I could not have imagined a better property than Kuramathi. The entire island is a tropical garden, tended every day, with a botanical walk and countless beautiful trees and plants. The diving was excellent, and the dive masters highly professional. Ebrahim was a joy to dive with - calm, capable, and knowledgeable. The food was amazing at my Farivalhu restaurant, thanks to the French chefs and Patrick, the head waiter from Singapore. The staff was always friendly and helpful. For a special insight into how the resort sustains itself in an ecologically sound manner, ask Assistant Chief Engineer Mr. Avinash for a tour of the physical plant facilities.
