Clean hotel 15 minutes from Shizuoka”
Hotel was clean and comfortable, the area Yaizu has very few shops or restaurants, but is located roughly 15 minutes by train from central Shizuoka and the hotel is very close to the station. The free breakfast included a wide range of choices but caters more for Asian tastes.
Very convenient place.”
They did not state that all economy rooms were smoking room in the details in AGODA. So they did not keep non-smoking room for us in the first place althought we did the special request for non-smoking room. All non-smoking rooms are fully booked on our first day. The room was really old and had strong smell. So we need to pay extra charge to change to non-smoking room for the second night of our stay. The room was better than the first night. The information AGODA provided us should have clearly stated whether it's smiking room or non-smoking room clearly. We might not know that without the word 'non-smoking room' means 'smiking room'. Thank you
quite clean, confort, very need the station, a cheap price. But not much site visit.
A great stay”
It was comfortable with clean rooms. We had great dinner despite the communication barrier at a local restaurant.
I will be back !”
nice place to stay”
Very pleasant stay.”
Big room in cheap price”
Nothing much to do and transportation is not so good in town. Although outside of Shizuoka city, only 10-15 mins by train will get you there. Staffs hardly speak any English. Hotel, rooms, and breakfast are very good for the price.
small comfortable room”
good hotel for a short stay. room was small but hey it's Japan.
Very convenient, great location, frendly staff and geat value for money. I defnatly raccomend it.
Very close to the train station but quiet.”
When I arrived at the train station I already saw the hotel across the square. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the check in was very fast and uncomplicated. The hotel has its own bath and the breakfast was very good and varied. The town is quite calm, but if you rent a bike, which you can do right in front of the hotel, you are at the beach in about 20 minutes. There is a well arranged promenade built on the tsunami defense wall, southern of the port. When you come in the period from June to August and if you don't mind the steep access, you can take a bath in the sea. However, you'll actually have to swim. Even though the sand is dark, the water is very clear. During my stay towards the end of August I got already slightly stung by some jellyfish but it isn't even worth mentioning compared to the relief the bath provided me. On clear days you even have a view on Mount Fuji. After the bath I bought some japanese grapes (very good) and other fruits on the market in the arcades of the city, which is something you are in general not abundantly provided with in Japan. If you don't want to swin in the sea there are also two spas built upon the hills in the north, which offer great views on the shore, the more expensive of them even on Mount Fuji. The bottom line is. Yaizu may not be the classical tourist center but despite some apparent inconveniences I have had a great, relaxing and memorable stay there after having taken some apparent hurdles which made it even a better experience. If you want to enjoy your visit you shouldn't be too lazy or selective.
