The hotel's location allows guests to fully experience the ancient city of more than a thousand years. The hotel provides convenience and comfort to guests with Japanese as well as Western-styled rooms. The city has adopted the new age culture while retaining their legacy with numbers of temples, shrines, palaces, and gardens. Guests can take their time sightseeing at main attractions in the vicinity, including the Heian Shrine, Biwako Sosui, Nanzen-ji Temple, Kyoto Municipal Zoo, and Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art. All of these renowned sites are within a short walk. As for dining, the hotel's restaurant has a set menu with a wide selection and is also recommended for breakfast. First time visitors to Kyoto will find the hotel's ideal location to be an advantage when exploring the city.

The location is very good, it's close to subway Higashiyama station and many tourism attractions places. The staff are very helpful. I checked out, left the bags at reception. I then came back late afternoon, would like to have a bath before get on the mid-night flight. They allowed me to use the public bath facility without extra charge even I already checked out. Accommodation room has big window so it doesn't so packed even it's only 15 sq.m.
Nice hotel and quiet hotel”
This hotel is a very nice and clean place, room is equipped with everything one needs for a few nights stay. The staff is very attending and helpful. Located at quite a bus ride from center of the city but the bus station is 2 minutes walk from it from where the bus no 5 takes straight to Kyoto Station through downtown area.
Great location, superb staff”
It was my first time making a booking at this hotel, after reading the reviews. It is situated near a subway station (Higashiyama station), about 7mins walk. The hotel is near Heian-jingu, bus stops (with buses going to Ginkakuji etc. There are also convenience shops (7-11, Lawson, Family Mart) within the vicinity. The staff was friendly and helpful, with one even took the initiative to help me call up a restaurant to check if it was open that night before I headed over. The room was clean, with decent shower. The public bath at basement was also clean and quiet. Washing machines and microwave oven were also available. Will strongly recommend.
Great hotel, great location, enjoyed the onsen ”
My wife, ten year old daughter, baby and I stayed at Kyoto Travelers Inn for two nights. The triple room suited us well and the location was really convenient for Heian Jinggu, Chion In and other sights and the nearby hills where I went running. There is a 7-11 very close to the hotel which is handy for food and drink and the stroll down the little river to Gion is very pleasant
comfortable, convenient place, and help staff”
I enjoyed every minute of my stay in the hotel. I've recommended it to my friends. On the third day, I found my pajama missing. Then I made a phone call to the front desk. Two days later, the staff returned it to me. As it is white, they took it with the sheets together by mistake. Another thing is that four of my friends had something urgent to do in Osaka. So they needed to cancel the rooms for the last night. The hotel agreed and they got the full refund. I'd like to say thanks to the hotel staff.
down to earth, simple but nice”
if you are looking for super star rated facilities - this is not the place; but this is a place where you just want to have a simple stay, down to earth; mostly Japanese local tourist when i was there - which is a good sign ( i dont like touristy hotel) . I enjoy my stay there.
Best for travellers”
I was so surprised because the room was extremely big (i stayed in the japanese style room) The staffs were really friendly. and Hotel's location is kindof far from any JR or Subway Station by the way there is a bus stop very near the hotel. It really worths staying here :) Highly recommend!
Very kind person”
I have problem need to stay until the evening . But they still didn't charge us . And help us to find hospital and call taxi for us in the morning. The rain fall but he also has spirit to do. Thank for helping us.
Recommended for Budget Travellers”
Overall, it is a very good stay in this hotel. It's a distance away from nearest subway, but bus is easily available here in Kyoto. The hotel is located by the rive where all the beautiful trees are. The best thing about the hotel is the bicycle rental service. We rented a pair of bicycle and cycled around in Kyoto area. Will definitely recommend to all my friends visiting to Kyoto with small budget. Do remember to go for the Japanese style as the room we got is quite big.
Good location to sightseeing points”
It is a quiet hotel. Good breakfast with Western or Japanese options, with a sofa in a triple room, a Japanese style bath, a small playground near the hotel, a convenient store is also very close, some restaurants nearby but opening time is very late.
A quiet hotel, close to cultural atractions.”
The room fitted 3 beds thus the size was more spacious than hotels in Tokyo. The hotel is located a bit outside the central area but accessible by bus. I enjoyed the quiteness. I found the bathroom interesting with a shower and a small square bath tub. Eventhough small, it served the purpose. It is also interesting that there are public bath with each have a neat stool, amenities and shower which are very organised and clean. An interesting place to stay.
Great location and enough big rooms.”
In walk distance you can reach center objects in 15-20 minutes. Location of this hotel is 3 min. by walk from Kyoto Miyako Western Hotel, which is one of the luxus and best located hotels in Kyoto. Hotel not lovely and clean but enough pleasant for business stay.
charming and homey hotel”
the hotel is not exactly near Gion where the sight really is but the hotel itself is very charming. We got a japanese room although you can have a choice of a western room. The japanese room basically is sleeping on the floor but they have provided mats that are very soft and comfortable so we had a nice goodnight sleep. Expect the typical japanese toilet. No lift so you will have to haul your luggage. downstairs is the charming coffe shop. Hotel is clean. staff is very friendly.
We had a good time staying at this hotel, the location enabled us to visit all the places we had highlighted with ease either walking or on the bus and the occasional taxi when we had walked too far. The staff were extremely helpful, room very clean and although small had everything we needed. Great value for money
No Frills bargain hotel”
If you need a quick place to rest your head, this place works. It is immediately across from one of the large Japanese Mon (gates), and is walking distance to everything, al biet on the far end of the city. Definitely not a central location. you can order beer in the lobby. typical Japanese business hotel - i.e. bed/TV/shower/4 walls & just enough room to remove your shoes.
Too expensive for the standard of room ”
We booked the japanese style room and it was really old and scanty, room and toilet were really small. Location was not fantastic. I would not recommend to book this hotel. However, staff were very polite and friendly.
