We stayed at L'hotel on the recommendation of a friend because our usual spot was under construction. I loved everything about this place: the building, the room, the location (on a quiet street in the 6th) and the service, which was impeccable. Often "boutique" hotels are charming but a little loosely run. Not so here. It is our new favorite place to stay in Paris.

As it has only 20 bedrooms I was concerned that they would not be able to perform at 5 star level. They exceeded my expectations. For such a small boutique hotel it was incredibly quiet which I appreciated. A Bosch capsule coffee maker in the room was a surprise. The restaurant was full and the five course menu which included raw, marinated white tuna and a succulent pigeon breast with fresh peas and a concentrated jus, was intense with natural flavours and all served simply but effectively. The young staff were charming and were well versed in maintaining the fine line between formal and informal. I personally do not enjoy stuffy staff.

Ligging in st germain goed. We hadden zeer kleine kamer, veel te warm en moeilijk douchen voor 400 euro per nacht. Kwamen aan om 1300 uur, alleen thee te krijgen in koude ruimte. Ontbijt goed maar moeilijk te krijgen brood.
