Great hotel, great location!”
Baler is one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines. With long sandy beaches, lush jungle covered mountains, waterfalls and some of the best and most accessible surfing in the country, Baler is surprisingly undiscovered. Sabang beach is the most popular beach in the area and can be crowded on the weekends with the few hotels full and very expensive. A much better alternative lies on the other beaches in the area which are both prettier, less crowded and more unique. L’sirene is in an idyllic location on a long, lonely stretch of beach with no other hotels or even any other buildings nearly as far as you can see. It is postcard beautiful and features great breaks for surfing and shady trees and breezy afternoons on the berm of the beach. There is also a nice pool for relaxation after surfing or just cooling off for non surfers. The hotel is well maintained. The food is good and the staff there is friendly, helpful and super accommodating. For example, I had to cancel my last reservations because I couldn’t get there due to the Covid lock down. And hotel management cheerfully canceled the reservation and gave me a full refund. They have always been very helpful on all my visits; giving me rides into town, arranging transport such as the express bus back to Manila. I have stayed in a lot of hotels on my numerous trips to Baler and L’Sirene is by far the nicest and the best value. It’s location and staff make it a must stay if you visit Baler. I highly recommend L’Sirene!
Lives up to its name and reviews!”
Had a great time at L' Sirene! We chose it based on it being a boutique resort, not in a crowded area & the good reviews and we were not disappointed! The rooms are big and nicely decorated. The aircon is great as the room is well cooled even if the outside temp is super hot. The beach area is private so not much crowd... makes surf lessons easier since less chance of colliding with other surfers. The surf instructors are very good too. Great idea too for the lounge pool... good to cool down after a long hot day. Food is good too even if it is still on soft launch due to a new concessionaire. Bonus - Sam Pinto was there on our 2nd day. Even if we saw her from afar, it is nice to know that the owners (tog w/ her sister) are hands on in managing the resort. Will gladly recommend and hope to come back!
Kids give the most honest reviews.”
It is the first family getaway without our yaya but L'Sirene made it easy breezy for me -a mom of 3. The pool is just infront of our room so I could easily check on the kids while they swim. Since the pool is jacuzzi type, it is much safer for them. Here are what my kids got to say. 1. Great food especially the frozen chocolate cake and Spanish rice. 2. We enjoyed surfing. 3. Cozy bed, pillows and mermaid blanket. 4. Pool is nice. 5. Love the free halloween treats. Kids are ages 11, 8, & 6. Thank you L'Sirene for a very comfortable stay. See you again soon.
My last fling for summer '18”
We've always wanted to visit Aurora, since it's the only province in Luzon we haven't gone to. We had the chance to go this weekend, and our choice of L'Sirene was as close to perfect as it can get. We wanted a place that wasn't too crowded, with a good ocean view, and friendly staff. We got all those. The bonus was the food. Everything we ordered was simply delicious, and very reasonably priced! We never had to leave the resort to look for a place to eat. Unfortunately we could just stay overnight, but we will be back for an extended stay in the future!
I love this hotel! The rooms are great value for money with a very clean and beachy kind of aesthetic. The staff are also quite attentive and super mindful of their guests. The resort is actually 20 minutes away from all the hip and happening places in baler so it can be hard to find food late at night. So they make it a point to knock at every room just to inform guests about their last call for food. That way, you can either order ASAP or get out to look for food elsewhere. The food here's great by the way. Their lunch meals are affordable at around php300 per dish which is good for sharing by 2-3 people (depends how hungry you are). They have a limited breakfast set, but my friends loved the mountain breakfast which has 'naked' longganisa with 2 eggs (scrambled or sunny side, your choice), rice and brewed coffee. I had the american which has 2 pancakes with melted cheese on top. Don't expect pancake house quality, but it's really not had for php80.
Nice and quiet place to stay in Baler”
L'Sirene is quite isolated from the crowded beach of Sabang in Baler. You can enjoy the tranquil environment and the sounds of the waves hitting the shores. It is also a good place to surf since there are very few people in the resort and no other neighboring resorts so you'll have the beach all to yourself (and your instructor, of course. hahaha!). The place is clean and room is spacious and well-maintained. However, I just find the rates/prices in the resort quite high. Room rates are quite expensive and with no breakfast meal included yet (we've stayed in resorts with similar rates but already included either a set meal or a buffet breakfast). The food in their resto is okay but pricey for the serving size (food is priced at 200 & up for a simple meal for 1). And the pool is too narrow and shallow - best for kids but adults may feel too cramped especially when you're with other groups. Overall, our stay was good as we were able to enjoy the serene location.
Quality boutique resort”
The resort is in a location about 15 minutes from Sabang Beach in Baler. It has its own wading pool, about 3 feet deep and 20m long, 3m wide. Rooms spacious, clean and with hot water for showers. It has its own beach (black sand like most of Baler) where you can surf small waves and they can set up a bonfire on the beach at night for guests. Staff very accommodating. Would stay here again.
My Ideal Boutique Resort”
1. Value for Money - Room had two queen sized beds that accommodated 4 adults. The price of the room divided 4 is very very reasonable! 2. Location is quiet and secluded, surrounded by coconut tress. No noisy establishments nearby. 3. Cleanliness - clean, not perfumed bedsheets and pillows, clean and modern 3-way bathroom. All areas were constantly cleaned. 4. Staff - friendly, quick, knowledgeable. We left some personal items and they contacted us asap. Good certified surf instructors. Clients from other resorts came for lessons. 5. Facilities - one level resort with all rooms facing the pool, well appointed, thoughtful interior design, good air conditioner in the room, the 3-way bathroom made it "easy-to-use" for 4 adults, swimming pool is about 3 feet deep -ideal for small children, weak wifi. 6. Food - We enjoyed most of it.! Very reasonably priced. A lot of walk-ins from outside came just to eat in their cafe. Thank you L' Sirene for an enjoyable stay!
You could go away without exploring the rest of Baler and just enjoy the beach by the resort. The place was very neat and picturesque - too bad the pool was just 3-feet deep but why waste your trip dipping in the pool when the beach is there. The staff was very very accomodating! Will definitely come back!
This was our 2nd time in L'Sirene. We love everything - the staff, our room, the ambience, and the food. It became our go-to place whenever we want to stay away from Sabang beach.
One of the best resort in baler! Accomodating and attentive staff. If you want privacy, this is your best resort for you! 😊 Best View! We’ll definitely come back and recommend this to my friends!
Loved the place's privacy and how cozy everything was. Resort is truly relaxing with abundant coconut trees surrounding it as well as its clean beach - definitely a Baler recommendation.
exceptional place for family and friends getaway”
ambiance was great. far away from crowded city of baler. you can have your privacy for relaxation. perfect getaway for family and friends. The room and staff are superb. the only downside is the beach. you can't swim due to wave are too strong. not good for children
Perfect for Family Getaways!”
2 pools (1 infront of the room and 1 near the beach) were very well maintained. However, the beach front was a bit not maintained as we have to walk through tree branches, plastic of chips and used bottles before we reach the sea. The surfing lessons were okay as well but a bit pricey. The food is good but if you want to try other restaurants, it is 15-20 minutes away from the resort. We were asked to check out our 3 rooms at 11am because of the wedding that day. They only allowed to extend 1 room until 12nn (we were 12persons at that time). They said the arriving guests need to check-in earlier. With that, we felt like we were least important. As much as we would love to rest for an hour more (because of the muscle pains from the surfing lessons), we had to leave early. They gave me a loyalty card to compensate my request that they cannot grant. Overall, it was okay! I'd suggest to ask the property for any events before booking to avoid the hassle of checking out early! :)
Serene Weekend at L’Sirene”
If you want to experience surfing at Baler with no fuss of the crowd then head on to L’ Sirene. Though it’s a bit far (20mins away) from town, their facilities and view is enough to have your restful weekend. Food is good and not too pricey too.
Two Thumbs Up”
I can't really say anything negative about our stay since everything was awesome! Will definitely recommend this place to those who are planning to go to Baler.
It was away from the busy center of Baler. Location was perfect and the beach was clean. Room was spacious. Great staff :D
Place is good for relaxation, the resort is very private, not as crowded as Sabang. ”
This resort is located in reserva which is 15 to 20 min away from the poblacion (central district).
I love how isolated it is from other resorts. It’s practically the only resort in that stretch of beach. I would recommend it for people who want to slow down. The waves are strong so it’s not advisable for very young kids, but, they would enjoy the pool.
Great for relaxation”
Not on the main beach, which is good for us since we wanted to relax after exploring Baler. They have their own beach which is great if you want to learn surfing without being embarrassed of wipeout. Food is yummy and affordable for the serving size. Staff are friendly. Room has enough space and beds are comfy.
