Really REALLY helpful and friendly owners!”
This review is long overdue and I owe the staff at La Casa many thanks. My last night in Lombok was spent at La Casa and although the place was quite out of the way from the main area in senggigi, there were many pros of staying there. 1) Friendly staff that made me feel at home. 2) Left my phone in the room and was already on the way to airport for flight home. Phoned the home stay and asked them for help. They assisted with passing my phone to a taxi driver to deliver it to me at the airport. Wouldn't have my phone now if it wasn't for them. I'm extremely grateful for their help as it was about 7 or 8am in the morning and yet they still entertained my call and helped me get my phone back! 3) French owner and his wife actually care about their guests. The wife advised us against taking a freelance driver to the airport for our morning flight as she said it would be more expensive and the French owner was up at 6am...yes 6am to see us off on the morning of the flight when we got onto a bluebird taxi we called! The staff are extremely kind people who go out of their way to help guests, and they do it sincerely. One of the places that felt most like home during my entire stay in Lombok. Once again, staff at la casa, thank you for the enjoyable experience!

A slice of paradise ”
La casa homestay was a great place to kickstart our travels in Indonesia! Michael and his family go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. They offer comfortable and clean rooms with a gorgeous courtyard and patio where guests can mingle and enjoy delicious homemade, authentic indonesian dishes. Our stay was so enjoyable that we were eager to return to lombok the following week in order to stay with la casa homestay an extra two days. Highly recommended!

Best Homestay in Indonesia”
I was so happy to find this homestay and spend a few days there with a friend. We loved it so much that we came back one week later. Michel and his family are so very welcoming and will help you with everything you need (practical info, bookings, motorbike rentals, cultural info...). The rooms are comfy and very good value, especially with the small terrace for each room. The garden is lovely and the food (breakfast and Mie Goreng) is delicious. Michel even cooked us some French food one evinning. Good Internet in public areas and good and quiet location in Senggigi away from mosques noise and touristy spots. We have been missing La Casa since we are gone. Than you so much Michel, Merci pour tout!

Very good apart from a couple of nitpicky things”
I only stayed in La Casa for one night before continuing on a boat trip to Flores, it was nice to have an ensuite room for such a low price. Staff were nice, facilities are mostly good, good location in the middle of Senggigi, and no issues with cleanliness. The only downside is that they don't offer laundry service despite advertising it here and their on-site restaurant is overpriced and not that good (you can get better food for a fraction of the price close by in Senggigi). Also there isn't much to do in Senggigi unless you use it as a base to explore the rest of Lombok or a stopover on the way to another destination.

The nicest hosts, great value”
It is a wonderful place. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable. Every room has it's own porch with a view on a small beautiful bali-style garden. The hosts are extremly nice and helpful. The breakfast arrives on your porch as soon as you're awaken. This place feels like home away from home. Very much recommended! The only thing you must have in mind is that La Casa homestay isabout 4km south from tbe main Sengigi area with all the shops and restaurants. But Menega warung, no 1 seafood restaurant recommended by Lonely Planet is just across the street :)

Great Homestay with Phenomenal Owner”
Great place to stay. Michele would give you the shirt off his back (literally). La Casa was a fantastic hideaway. A good distance south of town so get yourself a scooter to find it, but it was everything we could hope for. Very affordable but the staff was so nice, breakfast was excellent (apparently a Jaffle is a crustless sandwich), and if we needed anything from a toothbrush to a computer, Michele would take care of it. Very popular destination with French travelers who seemed to like the homestay so much, they rarely ventured out of the compound. Stay here and you won't be disappointed, unless you hate the ocean and traveling to an island paradise. In which case you are an idiot.

Mixed feelings”
I had read the reviews on La Casa and as they were so good I decided to book 5 nights. Unfortunately the reviews about the dogs are all true - they bark throughout the night so even with ear plugs I got very little sleep over those nights. I was definitely counting the days to my departure. As I knew it was located slightly out of town I hired a scooter as soon as the boat docked and it was a simple 10 min ride to La Casa. It is very conveniently located if you are hiring a scooter (can also be done through them) and touring around, something that is very doable if you're willing to sit on a scooter for a few hours a day. And for less than $5 a day very practical. Michel was very accommodating when I wished to break up my stay as I wanted to stay a few nights in Kuta. Hence the mixed review. I feel there was definitely a language barrier and felt that if you were French speaking then you definitely got treated well. Not so much for non-French speaking visitors, which was commented on quite frequently while I was there. The food was great and very reasonable. It is a family run Casa so if you're not a fan of small kids then perhaps pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.

Quaint, Nice Little Place”
This place I'd stayed in the beginning and ending of my Lombok trip. The place has a few rooms only facing a small beautiful garden. The water pressure is not consistent although I think it depends on which room you stay in. The rooms are dimly-light. But generally it's quite well-furnished and pleasant. The couple runs the place with a lady and a guy helper. They are generally friendly. The french owner actually drew a map on how to get around to see the places I wanted to go. The location is somewhere in-between Mataram and Senggigi. So it's pretty quiet and far from the noise. Overall, it's pretty good value for this lovely place.

La Casa was lovely! We had AMAZING food there, breakfast was only 20000RP ($2), the staff were so friendly and welcoming. There were trees and plants everywhere, which was beautiful. It's in a really cute, interesting neighbourhood if you just take a walk down the road. We loved it.

It was great”
It was great, we arrived late at night because we visited waterfall. The staff was really, not all can speak english fluently, but check in procedure was fast. I told them I booked it from Agoda and they recognized it immediately (I don't have to show my reservation from my cellphone like I did with other hotels or hostels) What I like the most is the fact that the staff was so helpful and being very informative regarding our next trip. The staff suggested me to park our motor bikes at local house instead of the harbor parking lot. She said it is safer to park at the local house. It's also cheap. I spent IDR 50,000 for 2 night (2 bikes). So, it's around USD 5 (I think it's less than USD 5). The staff will help you with your Lombok itinerary if you are not sure. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip. Mine was awesome :)

Friendly homestay off the beaten track”
We had a great stay at La Casa homestay, it's tucked away from the main road, so in a quiet location with a lovely garden. It was a real family homestay, with the owner being French but living in Lombok for 20 years, he was very helpful, giving us advice and helped to point out 'must see' areas on the map.

2-4 minutes walking distance to main road,taxi always available at Jayakarta Hotel(3-5 minutes walking distance from La Casa),motorbike rental is available through homestay owner or the stall at the main road. Local warong(restaurant) along the main road,close to the beach.

Cozy homestay for budget travellar”
Booked for my friend, a single lady to stay a night with a room without aircon. Pro: -spacious room condition clean & OK -garden nature plants at surrounding that create beautiful view. -owner & his lady were very friendly and so helpful (allow me & other friend to stay late before my rinjani agent come to pickup on evening, & we have fun chit-chat with owner lady as well.) -provide home cook meals with more reasonable price & taste not bad. Cons: -bathroom water pressure run a little bit low. -homestay a bit far away from the center & convenience mart. Additional: -dogs (feeling like guesthouse guardian) -taxi almost pass by in every minute at main road, no worry on transportation. -remember bring insect repellent if you are sensitive to mosquito bites.

OK for short stay”
This place survives on friendliness and service. The rooms are acceptable. Plumbing in our room was not in good condition and electricity was a bit eccentric and slightly unsafe in my opinion. Owners are nice but miserly, the staff are very nice too. We rented a motor scooter for a day and contrary to what other reviewers had led us to expect, nobody tried to cheat us on the agreed price. This place could do very well if they spent a bit to fix the place up and if they set the right price point. If you're a fan of Fawlty Towers, you shouldn't miss the chance to stay at La Casa.

The staff are incredible”
My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights. The plumbing in the first room was backed up and "water" would come out of the toilet base every time we flushed, spilling across our bathroom and subsequently drying there. Further, every morning the compound would flood and the owners would need to use a pump to drain the water. However, the staff went out of their way to put us in a new room (albeit slightly removed from the main compound and without wifi) and they are truly incredible hosts. The location is off-the-beaten path and leaves much to be desired but they make up for it by providing personalized assistance with trip and excursion bookings. We rented a scooter through the property (at 50,000RP/day - very cheap) and they spent a lot of time creating detailed maps for us to help us with our travels. They also don't have a "hard" close time for their kitchen. We arrived very late in the night and the owner took it upon herself to cook us a dinner. Very wonderful people. Net/net, the location/cleanliness/facilities of this place leave much to be desired but for a quick stopover in Lombok (especially for those unfamiliar with the area) the staff will make sure to take care of you.
