Oh this was an excellent place to stay. I really like Manila and people how say it’s not safe don’t know what they are talking about. This place is in a perfect spot from the airport and in a good neighborhood.
Thank you Simon! come see us again soon.
Homey and welcoming”
I loved the house and all the little details. But the staff made the experience even nicer. It seemed mostly empty in the house when we were staying so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Breakfast was lovely as well. Thanks for a memorable visit!
Thank you Christine! we're happy to have hosted your stay for a memorable vacation.
Beautiful place in wrong location ”
Old colonial house very well presented from in and out side with great charms my room No 3 was located in the corner of the building The room is very small 3x4 m INCLUDING the bathroom everything is perfect in a basic way The out side St was very nosy during he night traffic of motorcycle car peoples yelling dog barking the AC very old and nosy anyway not a plaisant location The stuff are very good and the breakfast also Maybe my room wasn’t the right one ???
HI Navigate129981, thank you for your feedback. The house is located within a residential area and may be prone to noise during certain times in the morning which tend to be busy. This is something we cannot fully control but we do provide earplugs for guests if they need it during their stay. We're glad to know that you liked the breakfast and the staff has been helpful. We hope to welcome you back still on your next visit to Manila.
things ha3d changed”
This is 3rd time i stayed at la casista. turned out to be quite a disappointment. stayed for 2 nights. wanted to stay for 5 but on the 3rd night onward, they didnt have the rooms i wanted to book as i had more friends joining. During this stay, i had the same room as before (#1) but the wooden floor was deteriorating, few pieces had come off. Hot water didn't work properly & there was a water pump machine right outside my room going all thru the night with very loud noise. Told the staff that i kept being woken up by the noise but no action whatsoever was taken. The shock came on the day after i checked out that i wanted to show this property to my other friends, we arrived at the hotel to be told off at the hotel that we were not welcomed as i was no more a guest. i guess it was really a waste of time helping them to promote this property. i wish i could say it again that i look forward to my next trip here but this was not how i felt.
HI Lucas, First off we thank you for taking time to put in a review for us. Thank you for pointing out some things we can improve on and we sincerely apologize for the noisy water pump machine. There was a recent water shortage in Manila which had us using the pump continuously to provide water for the house. With regards to your request to view the house, our staff certainly could have exercised discretion in allowing you to show the house to your guests even for a few minutes, knowing you have recently checked out as our guest. We apologise, and we certainly did not want to make you and your guests feel unwelcome. Staff has been trained to always ensure "home viewing visits" are scheduled so that we maintain the intrinsic house/home feel and the privacy of Casita guests . We truly are sorry and know that we value guests like you who help us by telling their friends about Casita. We hope that this single incident will not hinder you to come back and visit us again
Small and nice B&B”
Location is very convenient. Walking distance to the Makati outgoing zone and to the Makati office buildings. Relatively quiet side street. We had the cheapest room on the top floor. In this room we missed a TV. Anything else was quite good.
Hi Gerhard, thank you for your stay!
Rooms are smaller than they appear in photos. The house is charming though. It's convenient that the location is so near to Rockwell and nightlife. However it can feel a bit unsafe at night because the streets are so dark.
HI Micaela! we hoped that the room size posted on the site will manage expectations. the rooms really are compact sized. Thank you for your stay and see us again soon!
A vacation i feel rested from”
I felt like I had gone back to my summer beach home in Canada without having to leave the Philippines. I live and work in the Philippines and return to Canada once a year. Choosing this property gave me a feeling of relaxation that I needed. It's located near some amazing new hip restaurants. A mistake would be to stay anywhere else. David
Thanks David for the wonderful review. we hope to welcome you again soon at La Casita.
I stayed in a small, clean, comfortable room at an unbeatable price. Plenty of hot water is available in the compact and convenient ensuite bathroom in this lovely old house. I come to Makati regularly and will stay here again. Not being a fan of hi-rise buildings, I am really happy to stay in a two storey frame house. In an earthquake prone area this seems like a great option. While I was there I couldn’t even tell if there were other guests, although I know there were. People who stay here are obviously very considerate. Great place in my opinion.
Thank you James! We appreciate your kind words - we think you're great too! see us again soon.
We had the loveliest time at La Casita! The vibe of the hotel is a cozy Fil-Spanish home and every little details feels so homely and warm. Our room was very clean. Staff are the nicest. Breakfast was decent. In entirety, we’ll be back and definitely recommend this to my friends!
Thank you Karla, we look forward to welcoming you back to La Casita!
Home away from home”
The location, ambiance, and staff, made our stay highly recommended. The overall vibe that this bed and breakfast serves is nothing that we have experienced before and we can't wait for our next stay. It's like you're in Vigan but it's in the middle of Makati.
Overall a very nice affordable boutique hotel easy walking distance to the sites of Makati. Pros: 24/7 front desk staff with great building security Clean well maintained Interesting antique furnishings and architecture Easy walk to downtown Makati Close by convenience store Good AC Good hot water Cons: Our “Large Twin Room” was on the small side with just a corner shelf no closet or dresser - but the actual room size was in the Agoda listing so no surprise just be sure check room description for details not the name of the room
Elegant place in Manila”
A rather elegant house in Makati Manila. The location is very good tucked away in the heart of Makati. I stayed in the balcony room and enjoyed my time very much. The balcony is actually a large verandah and lovely to sit out on ( however there is a barking dog across the street but there is nothing the hotel can do about that). The room was smallish but clean and had a fan and air con. You have to be let out and in which is slightly irksome but is also very secure and safe. I fully recommend this hotel.
Great place for staycation for couple ”
Everything was perfect except the construction beside the property. It will be great if you offer more local Filipino breakfast like Champorado, Tuyo, etc. I also love their dog, Sam it added charms to the house!
Great place as my room had balcony! Great location easy access to restaurants and malls
HI Chona! we're glad you enjoyed the room and hoping you had a chance to explore the area.
Classic New England Style B&B”
The northeast USA has classic large old homes converted to B&B I was surprised to find this beauty in Makati A real Gem the rooms on small size but it's all about the charm The breakfast included was perfect I could see them offering dinner with advance reservation The price way too low Will stay again
Nice renovated old house in historic part of Makati”
La Casita is an old house from the 1930s renovated to become a bed and breakfast and I thank the owners for doing so. I love staying at neighborly places and this old house really took my fancy. The solo room with the veranda was lovely, and if you do not mind a small shower then this is ok. Very clean and it has basic amenities and wifi, but no cable TV. The area is walkable to and from the CBD and lots of cafes, restos and bars in the vicinity. The only problem is parking because the street is narrow. I'd definitely go back again, thank you La Casita!
The taxi driver had a little trouble finding the hotel but once we got there it was lovely! Set back from the main streets so not too noisy but nearby to lots of bars and restaurants. Very pretty decor and lovely helpful staff. Good wifi. Breakfast tasty. They let us leave our bags for the day after we checked out.
Heaven in Manila”
This bed and breakfast is a excellent place to stay in Makati offering a taste to filipino hospitality and a glimpse of traditional building living. We love this place, the zen atmosphere, the breakfast, and the personnel. To reach the 10/10, the mattress could have been more confortable and complimentary bottle of water should be provided.
Quaint, cozy, great location!”
I was in Makati for 2 nights and was travelling solo. This bnb was perfect as I could walk to Power Plant Mall and many other shops and eateries in less than 10mins. Tucked in a quiet spot of Makati and close enough to walk to the bustling city. Highly recommended for those who are looking for easy travel - room, hot shower, all basic amenities. Also, the staff and bnb owner were friendly and helpful! Will definitely think about this place if I come back for travels :)
Thanks Jacqueline! please do let us know how we could have served you better.
Charming B&B in Makati”
Good points: 1. Location-aside from it being in Makati, its very accessible to the nice shopping malls (Rockwell and Century), cafes, restos 2. Architecture/interior-charming old house makes you feel nostalgic, very homey and cozy 3. Price-very affordable and reasonable 4. Staff-special shout out to Jena for always going an extra mile to accomodate her guests; also to Sal for making my breakfast extra special Cons: 1. Parking-you park in the streets, they could only accomodate 1 car in front of the house, nearby pay parking are expensive 2. Amenities-rooms are very basic but very clean, no tv in most rooms
thank you Anna for your recent stay with us!
