Apartment in Separate Building
Stayed 3 nights in April 2017
It was a good stay. But be cautious selecting the room. We had a very bad experience as we booked a anapartment in the resort and to our horror we were taken to a cramped room which is actually in a separate building with shops on ground floor. Room was really bad and not worth the money. There is no comparison between the chalets which are inside the resort while the rooms are outside the resort, cramped room and with not much facilities. So i highly recommend only go for chalets. Hotel staff upgraded our stay to a room inside the resort.

Sea Front Home
Stayed 2 nights in March 2017
we've stayed there for 2 nights in one of the sea home. The room is quite old and need renovation. There was a weird space next to my bed and the next door is under a paint job. So when i look inside the room next door, i know suddenly that we've missed a sofa and some other furniture too. The room has no internet even thought we would love to pay for it. Everyone gathered around the lobby to use internet. The location is perfect. The hotel is literally beach front so you can enjoy all day. Even thought there was some seaweeds in the water, small amount on the beach, it wouldnt bother us that much. (not hotel's fault) We booked half board. Breakfast is great. Dinner is alright. A la cart menu is quite limited but tasteful. You're not allowed to bring any food and drinks in but your're welcome to eat outside. That's what the staff said. I think the price is also reasonable considering we're on La Digue. So, dont worry about food. you can eat in all day if you want. The Staffs are amazing. we're very informed about the hotel and facility since we arrived by hotel shuttle which is provided. All staffs are very positive and attentive. They greeted and remembered you. Second day i went for dinner, the waiter remembered my room number. One last thing, the day after i checked out, i called back because my husband forgot his belt. The female receptionist picked up and promised to call back after but no one ever called. If they have policy regarding non return of the lost items i would understand. A call would be nice. Overall, this place is reasonable and convenient. Coming back again? maybe...

Building obstructs the sea view and not only”
If, instead of “undisturbed sea view” that you paid for, you like a big building in front of your chalet’s window, or instead of some privacy you prefer pathway just under your window, between your chalet and beach (chalets except 14 and 15), or you like manager Charles who does not react because he feels irresponsible for inconsistency of the Resort web offer and reality and who considers chalet 16 locating in 3rd row from the beach behind another building as beach chalet with undisturbed view (!), or you are diver and you are happy to discover after arrival that diving center is already closed for weeks and nobody from the Resort had seen fit to tell you about it in advance, then La Digue Island Lodge is exactly for you. At least you may talk with nice staff in restaurant and enjoy good food there. Otherwise better consider other option. We, just in five minutes after leaving La Digue Island Lodge to “Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie Resort and Spa” started to feel like moving to paradise :-)

Wonderful Easter holiday at La Digue Lodge”
Unpretentious relaxed establishment on the beach. Property built in the 70s so building a bit tired. However chalets right on beach, clean fresh linen and spacious rooms, gorgeous gardens, friendly, helpful staff, great omelettes, good coffee, fresh local fruit and seafood make this a special stay. 4 nights not long enough for this family of four.

Nice stay, great beach and good location but missing wifi internet except at the reception. I feel that 4 star hotel should have wifi everywhere. Also a coffe for 7 euros I found quite expensive.. :( Otherwise perfect stay!

Good hotel with mixed feelings”
Lodge location, dinner, helpfulness of some of the staff
Our stay at the La Digue Island Lodge was mainly very pleasant. I have mixed feedback about the hotel: 1) Accommodation: the lodge interior is clearly not very new and modern any more. It offers all what is needed, including shower, bath tub, a big bed, cable TV, ... The outside area is great & very relaxing. However, the facilities are not very 'fresh' and new, the bed was quite used out and not very comfortable, one could notice that the rooms haven't been renovated in the last 10-15 years. 2) Food: the dinner buffet was great, a lot of choice and mostly really tasty. It offered a wide range of different dishes for all kinds of tastes, including a lot of different fish types, salads, pasta, chicken, etc. Every few days there was a bbq. The sweets were outstanding. Breakfast however is quite basic, it has a lot of offers for "heavy" eaters (like pizza slices, sausages, curries, etc.), a good egg station, fruits and sweets but only limited selection of cheese and ham. 3) Rest: the beach is okay, but there are better beaches to be explored, ideally with bikes which can be rented. The pool area is nice. There is a bit of entertainment (usually a musician playing during dinner), but not too much (which I enjoyed). Internet is available, but only in the reception area and very slow. 4) Staff: very mixed feelings here. While many staff members looked & acted grumpy, weren't always helpful and made the impression that they rather not be disturbed, some others were outstanding and extremely service oriented. All in all okay, but I would recommend a bit of more training to the service staff in the restaurant. In total we enjoyed our stay (come on, after all it is the Seychelles). There are a few points which could be improved (e.g. modernising the lodges, training parts of the staff), but all in all it was very pleasant and especially the food and the proximity to the sea was great. I would give this hotel a rating of 3,5 stars out of 5.
