A lovely stay by the beach ”
The staff were super friendly and helpful, the accomodation was comfortable, the chef made absolutely lovely “home cooked” feel meals, and our room was overlooking a gorgeous view. No internet but good time to get in touch with nature / people you are travelling with. Also can kayak, sup around the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of three nights here!

A true heaven ! ”
We were looking for a quiet place in the middle of Philippines most beautiful nature, and this is what we got ! The hotel is by the sea « rivers » and close to the open sea. There are kayaks and a beach at disposition for free. We highly recommend to take the kayak to explore the surrounding mangrove - just a beautiful experience and a sense of being alone! The staff were extremely kind and at our disposal to our every need. The owners are a pure example of hospitality. They want their guest to have the best experience of the local beauty and customs. We were lucky enough to be invited to their private beach for a bbq with them - an experience of local food and traditions we will never forget (grilled traditional food, traditional opening of cashew and sunset by the beach). We had an amazing time learning about their country, history and culture by habitants of Philippines, exactly what we were looking for. The hotel also offers private island tours. We opted for one and were entirely satisfied. The staff, once again, taught us about the local history, nature and animals along the tour. The food was also very good. They offer a wide range of traditional food prepared by locals, and even propose some européen/American food for those who feel homesick. They set up the lunch and dinners at different spot in their hotel, offering different beautiful scenery during the meals. If you are looking to enjoy the beauty of nature and culture Of the Philippines far from the tourist mass, this is where you want to be staying for some nights ! The owners even help us before our arrival for the different passes needed to be able to travel to Palawan, a perfect experience even before our arrival ! Thank you la estancia busuanga resort for this unique experience, we will never forget you ! We hope to see you in Switzerland in the future !

Private island living for the above average earners! ”
The resort is impressive! Perfect for people who want to escape from the busy city and just be one with nature. The accommodation is excellent, clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. View is stunning, our room has its balcony overlooking the waterfront. You can request which part of the resort you want to have your dinner, staff will setup for you. My only issue is their food is too costly. Third person in the room is charged extra 1000 pesos per head per night, and this does not include breakfast. This resort overall is truly amazing, only if you don’t care the value of every dime you spend.

Excellent”
I highly recommend this hidden gem. I love the location, very quiet and peaceful place to relax. And what makes the perfect stay are the staff-from the person who’s in charge overall, the manager and our driver is superb. It is one of the best out of town experience yet. I will come back again in the future.

Nice hotel for a relaxing experience”
There is nothing around the hotel apart from islands you can visit on a boat. Ideal place for a relaxing weekend. We disconnected a lot. However, we woulc have appreciated a easier path or more pavimented road to get there, we struggled to get there with our rental car because the track is very bumpy. Overall, nice stay, with some exceptions

Very good. ”
I have actually cancelled my trip to the Philippines because of the flights restrictions due to the Coronavirus. I have written to the resort and they kindly cancelled my accommodation without charges. I will certainly book again at this resort. Btw, I have booked here before and on separate occasion, , my daughter and 5 friends as well. We are very satisfied with everything they offer.

Quiet place but not easy go in and out”
Very quiet and nice lake (sea) view from the room. There are 3km or more small route without other transportations exept booking van from the hotel. Not too much activities to do. Recommet to those like quiet and private place.

Perfect resort to get away from it all”
My friends and I had an amazing stay at La Estancia Busuanga. The owners, Boots and Tony were the most gracious hosts and the staff was impeccable. It's definitely not the normal type of resort, it basically offers guests to experience what it's like to live in a private island, which was exactly what we needed. From the start, Boots was accommodating to our requests and quick to respond. Transfers were on time and as soon as we arrived at the island, we had a scrumptious lunch waiting for us, set up right by the shoreline, with the waves gently touching our feet as we dined. Then, they brought us to our room, which overlooked the most magnificent view. The next three days were a mix of island hopping, beach bumming, and other activities, like barbecuing over a bonfire pit, relaxing by the wharf in a hammock, chatting by the dipping pool and even belting our lungs out at videoke. That, and eating, lots and lots of eating since the food was always superb. Phone signal was very spotty though, and if you need to be connected all the time this might be a problem, but honestly, it feels great to go off the grid every once in a while. Also, beds were a bit too hard for my liking, but I still found myself sleeping like a baby every night. Overall, this is really a great resort and I hope they can keep up the same level of personalized service and hospitality that made us feel like VIPs during our stay. Truly enjoyable and would definitely want to come back again soon.

Great place, almost perfect”
We enjoyed very much our stay in La Estancia. This is a very classy and simple design resort for few families/people, which turns the place very exclusive and makes you feel like living in a private island with superb service. The staff is great, with best level of personalized service and hospitality. About room facilities, I partialy agree with comments of Luisa C. (29 Jan 2016), since we got the same room with no mirror or the plastic chairs in the balcony (there is no classy design here, haha). Superb food... so be prepared for lots and lots of eating because food is spectacular. But note that you have to pay PHP 1.500 per person per day ($32,5 USD) and there's no other option around. No WIFI and no signal in the hotel (unless you go up the hill, 5 min walking), which turned into a nice surprise since we felt really disconnected and relaxed for the 4 days we spend in La Estancia. Family and guests chat and relax (or enjoy the activities of Busuanga) instead of been chating and messaging via the internet. Superb staff, place and experience.

Very good”
My family had a good vacation in La Estancia Busuanga - Staff were all approachable, very helpful, and courteous. - Rooms and facilities were clean, adequate, and functioning. - Resort location is quite isolated (requires 1.5 hour van transfer from airport), which makes it peaceful. (appreciate the free transfer which saved us a lot) - Resort also has its small beach front good for swimming, lounging, and snorkeling. - The free bbq at the resort's 'peak' was a fun and a nice activity. You can also do fishing for free. - Taste, variety, and value for money of food in resort has room for improvement. Would be a better gesture if they include option w/ breakfast in room bookings since guests have basically no other place to eat. - Felt a bit overcharged with how they computed final bill, since they applied service charge and vat on top to all food and activities ordered during stay, despite restaurant's menu stating 'prices are vat incl. and not giving any OR or SI.

Perfect nature around. Amazing sunset. Tranquil and relaxing. ”
-Perfect Nature: The scene looks amazing from the balcony and from the pavilion. It was really relaxing to stay at La Estancia. The sunset and sunrise (should go up to the top of the building) were amazing. Black island is cool. - Location: It's in the northwestern corner of Busuanga Island. Quite isolated and a perfect place for travelers who want to escape from crowd. But it's a bit far to see more popular islands like Pass Island and Coron Island etc. - OK Service: The resort fulfilled most of our requests but not very prompt at responding, unless you call them at least twice. Before we checked out we ordered lunch and had it delivered at 11am but we didn't get it until 11h20 so we just cancelled it because we had to head for the airport soon. This is the only disappointing point in this experience.

Still a way to go before it can be world-class”
La Estancia Busuanga is situated in a beautiful spot, with tropical flower gardens and magnificent views of small islands and quiet, sandy coves. We were the only guest during our stay, but because none of the rooms in the new building (that's the building you see in all the pictures) were ready, we were put in the old cottage which had a very large room and a terrace with a table and two plastic chairs. The room was very clean, the bedding and towels were high quality. The room did not have a fridge or a kettle, so they brought thermos with cold and hot water when you asked, which it's not the same as having an electric kettle and being able to make a cup of tea at 3 am if you want. Our room did not have a safe, although the rooms in the new building did. The bathroom was clean but dark and VERY dated (the new building has nice bathrooms but slightly smaller rooms and terraces) with cracked tiles and rusty pipes, no mirror and NO HOT WATER, and the beds were so hard that after the first night we both had a bad backache, so the staff added a foam layer over them, which helped. In retrospect we should have insisted on staying in the new building, but we did not want to make the staff prepare a room in the evening when we arrived: make sure you do, because we feel we were overcharged for the accommodation we were given. It was not made clear to us that the place did not have Internet: apparently the last typhoon has knocked the tower down and service had not been restored. If you need to be connected to the world, make sure you check: we were supposed to meet friends on the next leg of our trip but, after 4 days of not hearing from us, they gave up and went elsewhere. The TV / movie room likewise was not working and, after inquiring about it every day, we gave up. Much has been said in previous comments about the food. We felt the meals cost too much (US$31 per person per day), not because of what was offered -which was very plentiful and good- but for what we coul

Slice of Heaven BUT Verify Location & Weather”
PLUSES: First rate employees (Manang Auring, her Ilonggo hubby, Manong Cornelio the veteran driver, the young lady cook whose lumpiang Shanghai was the best ever, and, of course, Kuya Les) who are very kind & constantly provide exceptional service, prompt & constant communication with owner, SPECTACULAR FOOD (esp. lumpia made with tinapa/smoked fish), private balcony with million dollar view, exclusive feel like you're almost renting your own island, very classy Filipino design, Filipino-owned, motorcycle ride of my life in muddy dirt paths during rains MINUSES: I wish I knew that the owner wasn't going to be there (despite many emails between us), location is both good (private island feel) & bad (too remote, a boat ride was necessary as of early July, 2015--with rare exception, see below) IN SUMMARY, the resort is very nice, classy but simple, but be picky weather-wise as we got stuck there for 2 days in non-stop rain during typhoon season (it only stopped raining for about half an hour or less--seriously). We quickly visited a nearby beach via a 10 min. banca/boat ride (Lolo's/Grandpa's Beach?) during a quick break from the heavy rains but, of course, we got caught in the middle of a strong downpour later on--mostly exciting but frankly scary in some parts. We were the only guests there so the employees' personal touch and THE FOOD made all the difference. NOTE THAT THE RESORT'S MAIN ROUTE REQUIRES A BOAT RIDE OF ABOUT 40 MIN. THEN LAND TRAVEL OF ABOUT 1.5 HRS. TO BUSUANGA AIRPORT. If the waters are too choppy or the weather isn't nice (my understanding is morning travel is much better so arrive early). FOR THIS REASON, TAKE THE EARLIEST FLIGHT IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE SO YOU CAN TAKE THE BOAT RIDE IN THE A.M. No developed roads near the resort as of early July, 2015, just dirt paths so if you're game clutching behind an expert motorcycle rider it could be very fun but slightly dangerous. I WOULD GO BACK BUT ONLY DURING GREAT WEATHER SEASON!

Secluded Gem in Busuanga ”
First time in this resort and we enjoyed our stay; Plus; - Clean Rooms and Adequate Facilities for relaxing - Has small beachfront adequate for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. - All Resort Staff are Friendly, Very Helpful and Courteous. - Nice sunset barbecue activity (free bbq and mallows except for drinks) Cons; - Requires a 1 and half van ride to get to resort (thank you la estancia for giving transfers free, saved 6k) - Since location is isolated, you only have their restaurant as choice for meals. (Taste and variety has big room for improvement). Unless you take a tour and choose to eat in a restaurant outside which could be on the way. - Price is on the expensive side already plus they add on 12% Vat on everything in your final bill. (which i think is wrong since they mentioned in their menu that prices are inclusive of vat already and they didn't give OR.

A glimpse of paradise”
It was defenetly the best hotel we stayed in during our whole trip to the Philippines. The staff was incredibly welcoming and available, the room was spacious, the garden and the beach wonderful ... And we were alone so it was like our private island. The only down side, our foreign phones didn't work so they couldn't call us and it took us ages to find it, we were motor biking and we finally had to go back to some village to get the internet and their phone number, so make sure you arrange your arrival before hand ! Thank you la Estancia !

Fantastic, most beautiful place, go there”
We stayed at La Estancia for 5 nights. This place is paradise, wonderful location, we had a room high up overlooking the sea. The place is very peaceful, the staff are outstanding, always polite and have a smile, willing to help. The food is delicious, all home cooked and beautifully presented, we loved the way we eat at different locations depending on the weather etc, sometimes at the pier, the beach, the garden or near the swimming pool. The room was clean, bright and spacious, what more can I say, you can have a good massage, beautiful views, nice pool.

Off-Season, Off-the-beaten-path”
If a chill getaway is what you are looking for, this is the place. La Estancia Busuanga is a sleepy resort with its own small beach, adjacent mangrove & islands to kayak to, and lazy, local Ocam-Ocam beach just around the corner (we walked it... about 40 min). The rooms are comfortable (aircon, tv, good h2o pressure, a bit of wifi), the kitchen is hit-or-miss (crab cakes and squid are great!). Cute piers where you can take meals & enjoy the view. It is on the northwestern side of the island, a bit far from Coron and the airport (as well as any dive shops).
