La Laanta Hideaway Resort is remotely located at the southern tip of Ko Lanta at Ao Mai Phai, just before the national park. It offers unrivalled privacy on a very private beach and is far away from the mass tourist belt up north. Surrounded by tropical forest, it truly has a castaway vibe. Its design and architecture are artistically inspired with modern amenities to make your holiday a truly fulfilling one.
La Laanta Hideaway Resort boasts two swimming pools at the beachfront. The main pool is an infinity pool which is great for watching the famed Ko Lanta sunset, and another pool is at beach level. There are ample sun loungers for guests by the poolside as well as at the beach. Beachfront dining is available at Ahoy Bar while breakfast is usually served at Castaway Restaurant. Ahoy Beach Bar offers a natural beach atmosphere with the sound of the waves in the background and soft trendy music which you can enjoy with your favorite cocktails and drinks until late.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at La Lanta Hideaway. Opposite end of the island from the ferry dock (we were quoted 1000 baht for a taxi) but the hotel graciously picked us up for free. The remoteness added to the charm for us. Very few other people on one of the prettiest beaches I've seen. Water temperature was perfect and great waves to play in. They have two lovely pools with lots of lounge chairs and offer massage and have a restaurant/bar right there next to the beach. The bungalow was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on our little porch taking in the views. We didn't always have hot water we lost power twice for a short period but neither was an issue for us. It's not swanky but was a perfect way for us to enjoy Koh Lanta.
Favorite place in Thailand”
I did a lot of research to find a great spot on Koh Lanta and I am SO happy I picked LaLaanta! It was incredible! The best part is the staff. They are so friendly and welcoming! We played volleyball with them every night at sunset and all of the guest are invited. The staff makes an effort to get to know you and remember your name. Our favorite was Tik who was so friendly and helpful and kind. In our 4 days there, we became great friends with Tik and we will miss him. The ocean is a few steps away from every room and the water is clear turquoise. There are a lot of sand dollar shells and the sunsets are INCREDIBLE! The best we have seen in Thailand. The food at the restaurant is delicious and there is a wide variety of vegetarian options which we were happy to see. I got two beachside massages from Cot who is amazing! The pool area is nice and there are lounge chairs at the beach as well. Wish we could have stayed for a lot longer. Some reviews say this place is too far removed from everything but everything you need is right at LaLaanta! Our favorite part of our month long Thailand trip!
Paradise does exist! ”
This is one of the best resort I've ever been. The price is reasonable with all amazing facility and staffs. Chico, hotel manager, even stop by to give us a free coffee and snack. I feel like this a place with full of all lovely family members. Every staffs are super helpful and fun! The swimming pools are splendid! We stayed in Sand Castle room and this make this trip so memorable! Could not ask for more. Yes, the resort is sooo far away from everything, but believe me you'll get almost everything you need ;) The beach is just few step away. But if you are looking for hard party, may be this not the place for you. Pure gem in Lanta! I definitely comeback.
Amazing spot! Beautiful secluded beach bungalows. ”
I can’t understand how anyone could write a negative review about this place! We went in low season, which meant that the value for money was outstanding. Beach is lovely and the pool was clean and refreshing. The staff are beyond friendly. My partner loved playing volleyball each night at sunset. We were upgraded to a room closer to the beach on arrival, and the room was beautiful and large. Note that you are in a JUNGLE here - if you are squeamish about insects or monkeys then this may not be the place for you. The location is quite hidden. I recommend a scooter if you are comfortable - we rented one directly from the hotel and used it to visit the old town, the national park next door (hike up to lighthouse but don’t bother with the path through the jungle), lunches at Phuphaview down the road (amazing), and the Lanta Animal rescue site (go visit)! The restaurant was reasonably priced and food was good but not amazing. This place is BEAUTIFUL! We were so sad to leave.
Looking for a hideaway? PERFECT!”
If you are looking for a really nice hideaway this will be the place you are looking for. If you want restaurants and shops in walking distance then definitely don't go here. We really liked our stay in Lalaanta Hideaway Resort. Staff is very friendly, small resort and the breakfast (buffet) is sufficient. Pool is nice and you can easily go to the lovely and quiet beach. Restaurant food is good and the fruit shakes are delicious! Aren't there any weaknesses? Well, there are. We didn't like the dark bathroom and the bed was awful as it just was a mattress on the raised floor. After a couple of days we really had some backaches. Scooter Rental is based on trust and is good value for money.
Amazing beach, staff, and clean bungalows.”
This is a true "hideaway." There's scarcely a sign to indicate the resort. But it's well worth the journey. We ended up extending our stay because it was so relaxing. The rooms/bungalows are clean and simple, but with some nice touches. The staff, from the managers to the cleaning staff are super friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. The beach is generally not crowded. Get a seaside massage! The pools are very nice and relaxing. Several nice Scuba operators are nearby. The one thing we agreed was in need of a small upgrade was the food. It was never bad, but it also wasn't all that memorable. It's a decent menu with lots of variety, but it could use better ingredients and be a bit fresher.
Beautiful location off the beaten track”
This is a beautiful spot if you want to get away from everything. 2.5 hours from the airport and at the very southern tip of Koh Lanta there is nothing but national park, beautiful beach and sea. Food is good and varied which is a bonus as there is nowhere else to eat. Cabana's are private and well appointed, can recommend the sunset splendor for privacy and beach views. Pool is a nice bonus as the sea was rough when we were there. This is my second visit so definitely think it offers great value for money :)
Amazing hideaway resort”
Situated in the south end of Koh Lanta this hotel is a hidden gem! The most beautiful beach and pools, lovely room and the most pleasant staff. We really wanted something secluded and quiet and this hotel lived up to all our expectations. All around this hotel is a 10 in our books! We will defintely be back!!
Perfect spot, perfect staff, perfect stay ”
From the very first second on this place we liked it. A sincere and kind welcome, by the manager and then by monkey (yes). Since we are used to luxury hotel we were a little bit afraid of the cleaningness... And so were our surprise : Super clean room, not at all old or any kind of dirty. Nice japanese still bed with superb terrasse. Also we knew the resort itself was beautiful, but here also we were surprised by what the photos can not catch : serenity. By all mean this resort is one of the amazingest I never been. I will come back. I only regret we did not stay more.
Absolutely Perfect and Peaceful!”
We found a last minute, last room available deal and were so happy we did! We didn't want to leave this beautiful and quiet resort! It was situated right on the beach and was the absolute last hotel until the national park which made the beach not crowded. There's a pool overlooking the beach, a restaurant with free breakfast, lounge chairs on the beach, massages available on the beach, and the rooms are wonderful! We would highly recommend as we kept asking if there were any cancellations so we could stay 1 more night!
Quite hotel in paradise”
It was the best part of our South Asia trip (Singapore + Lanta + Bangkok). Hotel is located far far away from civilization, no 7-11, no any other shops in walking distance. But you will not need anything! Good service by high professional hotel team made everything what we have requested. Food in hotel restaurant was good quality. Hotel manager Mr. Chiko helped us with transfers and late check-out. Big thanks from our side. If somebody wants to hide from ordinary life - Lalaanta Resort is highly recommended
Good, but could be improved.”
Overall we enjoyed our stay at LaLaanta Hideaway. The pool was nice as was our room. We also liked the idea of providing every room with a DVD player and a wide selection of dvd's to choose from. As the name suggests it was hidden away which is great for quietness but not so great if you want to explore the town and other places. Best thing to do is hire a motorbike for the day and do as much as you can within that day. We also stopped at a 7-eleven and bough a few snacks and drinks to store in the fridge which was provided, made the next few days there a bit cheaper. Breakfast was brilliant very good buffet selection even in low season, lovely beach although not great for swimming as big waves and lots of big rocks. Would recommend this place but do think there would be better 3 star resorts to stay out just depends what your looking for.
The perfect place! ”
Lalaanta Resort is a charming place, an oasis of peace and relax in the deep south of Ko Lanta on one of the most beautiful beaches! We have been for 2 nights and it was great! The resort is hidden in a lush garden with a flowers and palms. The swimming pool has an amazing view on the beach and sea and the restourant is directly on the beach. The room was perfect clean, cousy and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I really would like to come back again!
Lalaanta Resort is a small paradise. A member of staff picked us up free of charge close to the ferry entrance. We were given welcome Changs and escorted to our bungalow. Above our bungalow we could see monkeys. The bungalow was comfortable and stylish equipped with a tv, DVD player, AC and hot water, as well as toiletries like their home made lemon grass lotion(to keep Mosquitos outside away). The resort has two pools and they are regularly being cleaned. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There are hammocks next to th beach for relaxing. The hotel is the last one on the beach before a national park so the beach is very peaceful. Many times we had the entire stretch of beach to ourselves. The only thing we were disappointed with was how much rubbish was lining the beach. It would truly be beneficial if the hotel picked up the garbage washed on shore. It wouldn't take that much time if they did I once or twice a week and would make a big difference. Aside from the rubbish Lalaanta is wonderful and I can't wait to go back. P.s. Take a scooter or a 30 minute walk to the national park to watch the lovely sunset
Lalaanta was the perfect place for us in many ways. Our bungalow was perfectly located in the property. The room was simple, clean & prettty. We liked the thoughtful touches such as the big water vessel with a wooden scoop placed outside the bungalow’s door for rinsing the sand of our feet before getting in the room. Lalaanta is not the place for partying. This is a place to chill and stay away from crazy crowds. The beach is prestige and we felt like we had it all for ourselves. Lalaanta offers scooter rentals. We rented one for our entire stay because we wanted to explore the island. This arrangement worked perfectly fine for us but bare in mind that you need to be a confident rider because the roads are dark (should you come back to the resort at night) and the dirt road that takes you to the resort is short but super bumpy. For me and my husband this was part of the fun. All in all, my husband and i loved our stay and we highly recommend it.
Really fantastic choice. I didn't expect it to be so nice, honestly. The staff were overwhelmingly kind and helpful with everything, from renting a scooter to booking tickets to driving us to the ATM when we were checking out after we realized they couldn't take our Chinese bank cards or mobile payment. It's a bit far away from the pier in the north-- the last resort traveling south on the west side of the island; I didn't expect that, but I didn't mind at all. Plan on the taxi ride from the pier taking 45 minutes and being a little pricey. The food available at the restaurant on-site is really fantastic. We ended up eating at it for most of our meals because we enjoyed it so much. The included Western breakfast is also spot-on, something I've missed for a few years. It's really close to a national park, and there are monkeys, lizards (some big ones, some small), and various other wildlife around the resort-- but not inside the rooms. The beach is dirty, but that's the only bad thing.
Perfect hideaway, dream place away from everything”
This hotel was our favorite in Asia. If you look for a secluded place to relax this is it. It's on the south of the island so a bit far from the activities but you can still book island tours from the hotel. However be prepared to travel longer from Krabi airport to reach the hotel. Warning : their airport transfer service is not free and actually quite expensive, they give you indications on how to take the bus if you want. We arrived on a weekday so until the weekend very few people. The place looks just amazing. Well designed bungalows and luxurious greenery. They have a private beach and pool, a beach bar and restaurant ( very good and ok prices ). We choose a luxurious bungalow but the cheapest ones are really nice too. There is a good mosquito net in the room, a tv and many DVD and books you can borrow. It is in the nature so there are quite a lot of small geckos / lizards and we even found a cockroach. We had to remove them from the room sometimes but our friend in another bungalow got nothing so this is bad luck. These things happen in tropical countries but the hotel is still really clean. If you are really afraid of them be warned but the mosquito net will protect you in any case. The staff is really nice and cheerful. Wish our stay was longer, we really loved this place.
Perfect for relaxation ”
Perfect, quiet relaxing stay - the last resort at the end of the road before the national park in its own bay. Good well appointed rooms, good breakfast, bar and restaurant. Really friendly staff. Recommended.
Amazing stay. The only place to stay in Koh Lanta”
We had the most amazing stay at LaLaanta. It really is like getting away from it all. Sala Dan town is overwhelming and getting to LaLaanta was like escaping it all. The staff were so friendly and were real characters. Beach volleyball from 5pm each afternoon is a highlight. The resort offers free kayak hire too and is directly next to the national park. It is a little away from town but that's not a bad thing and you can rent a scooter for next to nothing from the resort to see it all if you want. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious! Real yoghurt, fruit, muesli bacon, eggs, multigrain bread and more, plus Thai breakfast too if you prefer. Wish we could be back there right now.
Pay extra to literally 'Hide Away'”
We took some points away from our rating of the hotel due to the location, which is at the southern end of Lanta. It is difficult (long, winding, hilly road) to get into and out of, and you cannot walk anywhere. For some this would be extra points, but we felt like we were stuck there. It is quite rugged around the hotel, and we had to call front desk to remove a large lizard from our room. There are many small lizards as well, because it is remote location. The beach and pool are nice, and any food/drink we had was good (although more expensive than most places, again due to the isolation I feel). If you are a couple looking for quiet, isolation, and basically stay put on the property, you will enjoy this place. We like to have places to walk to, shopping, and many food options so it wasn't for us. The room was average I'd say, nothing poor to discuss. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and tried to learn our names to address everyone personally. The beach is not crowded and the sand is nice.
