Perfect Hotel at the end of the Beach”
I booked the cheapest hotel room which turned out to be perfect for me. OK in size, own bathroom with shower. When I came, one light did not work which they fixed promptly. I did some diving there and the Hotel has an excellent Diving School. It is one of the best and biggest in whole Puerto Galera. Food was very good with a wide variety and the Bar was very nice. For the nightlife, a 10 Minute walk is required since the hotel is at the end of Puerto Galera. Or you take a boat which is always available for a few PHP.
Good diving, good food and Lots to explore”
This beach area is quieter than the busier Sabang beach nearby. I'm a novice diver, and their dive instructor Teodoro Castillo - nickname Oying, was attentive and watchful. I felt safe with him. He pointed out turtles and six other fascinating underwater creatures on the reef that I would have missed. We needed flip-flops for the beach though, it has sharp coral fragments in places. At night my wife and I shot pool at the Gecko bar up top,. We ate excellent western and local food at their outdoor restaurant. We swam in their clean pool. Explored around the beach and grounds, played chess with the waist high chess men. Looked at old cannon. Their kayak had a leak though. We rented a motorcycle at TNT Rental s not far away in Sabang. Three days was not enough.
A perfect escape from the madness of Metro Manila”
My 2 day stay at this fabulous resort was extremely relaxing. Its interior and its grounds were calm and peaceful, the room assigned to us was functional but clean and well maintained, and the resort staff were extremely kind but not exceedingly intrusive. My 2 day stay was blessed by exceptionally good weather (it only rained sporadically during the evenings) and the sea was extremely calm and the current almost non-existent - this made free dining, snorkeling, and kayaking off the coast most enjoyable. Even though the resort is only 20 minutes walk away from the frenzied nightlife of downtown Sabang, it's secluded location guaranteed that we would be afforded the best of both worlds - the bars and wild partying that Sabang is notorious for and the serenity and quiet of our very own private beach hideaway. What more can anyone ask for?
hotel is nice, also hos restaurant. But stay away from the diving shop they really rey to cheat you”
I was there for diving but needed to move to the Scandi divers shop. The one at the Laguna beach dive really try to cheat you. They wanted I do first a beginner dive day even if I have many Padi and SSI licences. They invent rules to make money
By far the best option in Puerta Galera”
This is a little gem - quiet, professionally run, excellent restaurant, friendly staff who know what they are doing. Not cheap but still good value for money. If you want to avoid the hassle and sleaze of Sabang, and dive or snorkel, a good option!!
Good choice for divers”
I've stayed for two nights. The hotel offers a very good dive base, and the water/boats are only 10m away from the base, which is very convenient. The beach is the nicest one of Sabang. However, if you are looking primarily for beach holiday, I would not recommend this hotel nor any other hotel in Sabang. But with the pool and with the beach, it offers a good combination for a diver who wants to bring his family that is not into diving. The restaurant is good and not expensive. The most quiet rooms are the suites, as they face the beach-front and not the interior of the hotel complex as the other rooms. The path between the hotel and Sabang is partially like an obstacle run and takes around 15 minutes. A boat for the transfer to/from Sabang costs P200 during day-time and P400 at night.
Excellent week end”
The place is quiet, the food is good , the location is only 15mn by foot to Sabang really easy and safe. View is beautiful and nice bar. Nice place to do snorkeling in front, and also very good staff for Scuba, we do our the discover scuba course and it was fantastic with a very nice teacher. The beach is clean. You could also rent kayak. Just one think the mattress should be changed or improved because the bed was hard. For sure will come back.
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
it is a little bit far from sabang port where we take off the boat. compare to sabang and small la lagula beach, here is more quiet. after sunset, u only can heard people's talking together with the sound of sea. if u r a night-fun, better not stay here. but as for me, i always adore to quiet and leisure, so i am totally satisfied with the night here. it is fun to have my irst diving experience in my lifetime. it is so worthy that i will definitely go back again to get one padi license in the future. the people's there are very nice, u can ask for help. and the travelers seems all come from foreigner, such as china, taiwan, hk, eu...less pillipino.
well run beach resort, good food, owners present”
We've been to this resort before, this being our third time, and it's even better since they've opened up the new wing with nice rooms directly overlooking the lovely sea cove where it is. Amazingly the food is always hot and very well prepared, everything works, the staff are attentive and friendly, the location is great.... I'll be back many times. Most places in the Filipines are run by corrupt fat rapacious owners who don't give jack about the food being cold and greasy and leaving things broken... This place is a bit of an oasis therefore. While it doesn't have the broad big beach, it's a decent little beach. Best swimming is at high tide though unless you swim out directly in front of the hotel where there are some boats but just take care and you'll be fine as many practice divers even also go there... decent little corals a few minute swim off also...
Standard rooms very standard”
Arrived by small bangka from Sabang ferry terminal. Off the bangka gang-plank and virtually straight into the resort. Wide open dining area with permanent breeze. Very nice. Upstairs bar with wide views of the bay. We stayed in a standard room which was a little disappointing. Small but clean. Took some time for the warm water to appear in the shower. Dive center well equipped
Nice hotel. Not great. Not bad!”
A little bit of everything at this hotel from great fish and chips to really mediocre spaghetti. Super friendly staff to unsmiling waitresses. The highlight was when an employee took the time to give us a personal tour of the owners private sunken treasure museum of items that they have found and acquired over the years from diving. Lots of old cannons, blunderbusses, coins, trade items and such. Overall a good stay. The owners might tell the restaurant wait staff to cheer up a little... Don't they know they are on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world? And oh yeah... One of the best body massages I've ever had by the strong handed therapist gal who found every knot in every muscle and worked out all my tension and left it on the beach in Puerto Galera! Yeah.
Great little secluded beach and dive resort Friendly staff The food was awesome and a great lively geckos bar upstairs for mingling with other visitors and expats alike Would definetly come back here again We really enjoyed our time here
Overall great time!”
We love our stays here, a good value for the money. Some of the rooms are dated but they are clean. The staff are terrific. The dive center is excellent.
My third stay in 3 consecutive weekends”
This is my third stay in this resort in a period of one month and each stay never disappointed me. My stays were always blessed, in spite of the onset of the monsoon season, with sunny weather and a becalmed sea. Free diving and kayaking within and outside the resort's cove has always been highly pleasurable, and the warm welcome one receives whenever the enters the resort's threshold after a day of adventuring is always invigorating. This third visit will certainly not be my last.
All staff are great, make you feel like you are at home ... Management are also present and attentive. With dive centre onsite this is THE BEST place fro combining leisure and diving. Love Gecko bar!
Nice hotel but the service is just so so”
the location and the rooms are quite nice. located in the quiet area of sabang. the service staff however was mostly unfriendly (with a few exceptions), no smile and only serious faces. they made comments about the guests behind their backs (in english and tagalog). maybe because they didn't receive any tip? next time i would not stay at this hotel anymore but rather at one of the more friendly places along the beach.
Good value, Great location”
The location is amazing. A little out of Sabang, so quieter and much nicer beach etc. The room was fine for the money, but there was sand in the bed which was off putting on the first night.
Best on the beach”
The hotel is what you expect from a budget hotel on an island in the Philippines. It is by no mean luxury but comfortable with good staff and a great location. We stayed in one of the beachfront rooms and literally opened our door to the sand. This was a little noisy and the hawkers presented a problem as they would always be waiting outside our door. This resort was the best on the beach - with the best food as we tried a few. Also offered the best diving service - as it was fairly quiet we were given our own guide Jason who was excellent. Overall recommended.
very comfortable, great view the beach, nice bar ”
Fast friendly check in, Nice new rooms directly on the beach, sound proof rooms, very large shower area ! Great stay. Even its a 5-10 min walk directly into sabang for nightlife activites
Lalaguna was very good.”
We had a great time at LaLaguna. The dive shop was very helpful and a special thanks to Oweing our dive guide.
