      Very good”
Despite the renovations going on, as it was low season it was possible to stay in a room which was not effected by the building work. The young Dutch manager was extremely helpful. It is just a bit too far from the centre of Champasak but walking is doable. The hotel obviously did not receive much TLC from the previous owners and I would be interested to see what it would be like in a year's time. As it was low season, few of the nearby restaurants were open but I did enjoy the two meals I ate at the restaurant (although slightly expensive) where I was the only diner. Main negative I remember is that all power points were almost at ground level and I had to get down on my hands and knees in order to plug in the kettle and my laptop yes, I know that I could have asked for staff help! A higher power point and a ceiling fan on the outside terrace would have been appreciated and perhaps this is part of the proposed renovation work. Beer from the mini bar is 2 times the cost from local shop

      nice hotel ”
The hotel is in the middle of a quiet village. Although the duplex we stayed in was looking tired, it was comfortable. The staff are very pleasant and a good breakfast is served. We would certainly stay in Champasak and at the Inthira.

So charming, wish I could have stayed longer”
Inthira lies at the roadside on the sleepy road through Champassak. Staff (except one guy at reception) were lovely and welcoming. The bungalow I stayed at was so charming I can forgive it's small faults like the not very solid looking locks (Champassak is so safe) and the lack of warm water for the outdoor shower (it's so warm anyway a cold shower is refreshing). If only they made the most of the area across the road that faces the river, create a river bar or move the restaurant, or even just build some decking. Still loved it and recommend Inthira if you're looking for a relaxed stay in Champassak, close to Wat Phou and the puppet theatre (highly recommended!). I really would like to come back here myself.

      Good”
Very big room with air conditioning, fun and mosquito net. The room is clean and the staff is nice. You can rent motorbike in the hotel and also transfer to 4000 islands. The cons: the shower is outside the room and had no hot water, there were a bathtub inside with hot water but without a shower. The water tap was not fixed and it was moving when you were using it.

      Disappointing”
The room (a 'superior room' over the road facing the river) was very small with nowhere to put clothes etc and smelt musty. There wasn't room to sit on the toilet with the door completely closed! Our room (number 10) Had a very flimsy and insubstantial door locking system which raises concerns about security. Though there was a safe it wasn't fixed to anything and we couldn't set our own combination code but had to use the key attached to the room Key. Staff were quite offhand. Internet only functioned for the first evening (we were there two nights) and staff weren't helpful about this. On the plus side the restaurant was very good as was breakfast.

Interesting hotel in a quiet town”
We stayed for 2 nights at this interesting hotel. The lobby & restaurant are on one side of the road with the rooms in a building across the road. We had a ground floor room with solid wooden shutters that could be opened to look out onto the grass expanse and the Mekong. The room was clean had a king bed (2 singles together) and had all the amenities including kettle, coffee fridge & safe. There was a TV but no service, DVD’s (complimentary) could be picked up from reception. There are tables & chairs set up on a patio by the river which had a great view & was nice for a drink at the end of the day or to watch the sun rise on the Mekong. Breakfast was included, ~4 items off the menu & was fine. This is a quiet little town stretched out along the river but does have a handful of restaurants, recommend “Homemade Restaurant” & the hotel made a decent pizza. Also there is an ATM (BCEL) about 5-10 minute walk away. We booked a tuk tuk to Wat Phou through the hotel & with their help, they flagged down a “local bus” for us to Pakse which was great (20 000 kip each). Overall, good place to stay & would have no problem staying there again.

      One night near Vath Puh”
Nice bathroom, big room in general and a very comfy bed. TV comes with DVD selection since there is no TV coverage itself ;)
Overall a good experience, check in was quick and earlier then expected. It's a pretty good hotel close to the main attraction and river. The food provided is really really good - risotto and fried rice with cashew/pineapple is highly recommended, breakfast was sufficient. We had one of the less expensive room, be prepared for some street noise and thin walls - we had to whisper as our room neighbors got annoyed by a short morning talk :/ Spend some more and stay in the back of the main building. Otherwise, not much to do in town, 2 ATM and a outdoor theatre in high season. Overall we would recommend this place for a stop over on the way to the 4000 Islands.
