La Quinta Inn & Suites Boston Somerville

First room had previously housed a smoker .... second room was much fresher. Decor was tired - common areas scruffy & dated. Brief staff interaction was friendly.

The hotel is rather old, but the rooms are clean and functional. The breakfast is not exactly fantastic, but it will fill you. One good thing is that it has a self-service waffle making machine and that gives you a warm breakfast. Very near a K Mart, which is a relief if your luggage is delayed!

This was one of the only reasonably priced rooms that I could find in the Boston area. But I would have expected a nicer hotel and room. This is an old and tired property, which needs a major make over. Although we don't smoke, the only room available in the hotel was a smoking room. Despite the staff's best efforts to mask the odor, the room still smelled like smoke. Also, there was a cigarette butt on the floor next to the bed.

Our arrangements through Agoda was very easy and smooth. As stated before, the name of the hotel has changed to LaQuinta Inn. However, this only seems to be an ownership change and the staff and management still seem to pride themselves on a well kept and efficient hotel. The room was very clean and contained an ironing board & iron, a coffee maker with a good supply of coffee to be brewed, a TV, an alarm clock and an internet connection. The beds were on the harder side but felt extremely comfortable. Noise was minimal from the outside and the hallway. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the continental breakfast with plenty to eat. We certainly would consider a return visit if spending time in the area of Boston. Forgot to mention that there was a 99 Restaurant right next door.
