Fantastic, chilled-out Hotel”
we spent 4 nights at la salangane in october. la salangane was a stopover between 2 more luxurious locations we'd picked for our honeymoon and actually turned out to be extremely special and memorable. the location of the hotel is perfect, right near the arts cafe and on the water. the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, including us in the birthday party for their barman and introducing us to expats and locals. the room itself was simple but clean with a lot of character. yes, it's noisy but in el nido that is inescapable regardless of where you stay. take some earplugs or simply exhaust yourself touring some of the stunning islands during the day and you will sleep like a log regardless of the barking dogs, singing women and tricycle motors (all of which makes for a pleasant village experience when you're not trying to sleep). la salangane itself is a central spot for locals and tourists alike and has a great community feel. the music is chilled and interesting, the breakfast included is fantastic (and great coffee) and the drinks and evening menus are extensive and very well executed. the view from the bar/restaurant is breath taking and the home made rum selection is inspired! to give an example of how fantastic the staff are, we accidentally left wedding rings behind after check out and they organised a member of staff to take a 2 hour bus ride to tay tay and organise the transfer of the rings to our next hotel, which they arranged directly with them. when i received the rings they had even wrapped them nicely in a silk bag and locally made gift bag! can't recommend the place enough - stay here if you want a really special, local experience with lots of character and a chilled out and welcoming environment.

small inn, a sense of privacy and identity”
The hosts - frenchmen; welcoming and friendly, slightly bohemian type. The reserved room was occupied because of double booking. This didn't became a problem for staff, we was placed on these days in another hotel above the class and get a bonus - twice free lunches. Before the trip we had planned to dine at different popular El Nido restaurants - "Squidos", "Corner",..., but every time special menu from chef La Salangane was so delicious, that we couldn't to go to the other restaurants ever:). Of course, even the best room of La Salangane - the room in front of the beach - this is not a luxury, but you will never regret choosing it for the rest. The tastefully decorated room, a terrace above the sea, breaking waves underfoot and restaurant at night with torches in the wind - these memories will stay with you forever.

An unforgettable week in paradise!”
It is hard to define in just few words how amazing our stay was at La Salangane. Since the first moment we arrived it was not only like feeling at home....but even better! EVERYTHING and EVERYONE at La Salangane was just AMAZING. I recommend everyone who is reading this review to stay at this hotel no matter if you are a family with kids or just a couple in a romantic trip or a group of friends looking for adventure and fun. Here are my recommendations: After your exhausting trip by van from Puerto (unless you could afford the ITI flight from Manila) enjoy a wonderful dinner at their restaurant and ask their staff about the activities they offer and they will arrange everything for you...no matter if its an island hopping tour (tour A and C recommended...in that order), diving activities (they have a brand new diving center which will for sure fulfill all your needs) or an "inland" tour (i recommend Nacpan Beach one full day and Verde Safari Beach+Bucana Fisherman Town another day). Next day enjoy their very nice breakfast on their terrace while watching the prettiness of the archipelago and then head for your tour or activity. Once you are back at the hotel have a cup of coffee while watching the sunset while their staff starts to light the candles on the tables and torches in the terrace wall. If you feel like partying tonight La Salangane is the perfect place to start the night after your dinner. Nice music, nice conversation with their people, nice drinks (try their fruit flavor homemade rum) and if you want to keep the party going ask them and they will tell you the best places to keep the party going. If you are not the kinda party person then don't worry...the music is not loud at all and they close the bar early so they will not disturb your sleep.

Great location, value for money!”
When we arrived Mitch (the manager I think) greeted us very warmly! They escorted us to our room which is right next to the restaurant. We were a bit sceptical at first but when we entered our room and went to our balcony the view from our room was phenomenal! It has a panoramic view of El Nido facing the beach! Perfect for those who wants to relax. The room was small but cozy! Shower room looks a little old but still good. Water heater, water pressure, toiletries are good. Breakfast was great, big servings and delicious! We stayed for 3 nights but was only able to get one of 2 of our breakfasts because we had to leave early on the 3rd day to Coron. Just a few steps away from restaurants and the famous seafood grills at nice at the beach. Place wasn't noisy, no mosquitos too! Overall, I would recommend this place to others who would like a hassle free and relaxing stay in El Nido.

Good hotel and restaurant”
we have stayed in la salagnana hotel 1 night only, and we could not sleep at all because art cafe was full those night with lot of people, playing music loudly. great if you prefer nightlife. but the owners were really helpful and they moved us to la salgnana villa, which is just 15 mins walk friom hotel and out of el nido village. villa was very cozy, staying in the garden and had the sea view, so we enjoyed it a lot. you should just buy a flashlight to light your way to villa after sunset.

Perfect place to stay for a night or 2 in El Nido ”
Our stay at La Salangane was great! Loved the deck over the water. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Food was very good, beers were cold and the wifi was super fast. Great location to explore the little town of El Nido

pleasant stay and enjoyable beach front view ”
Amenities-wise, La Salangane was satisfactory. The bed was spacious and comfortable, the towels, sheets and linens clean, pillows adequate. They even provide emergency light for when the scheduled brownouts occur. The only bone of contention was that they do not have a generator for those unscheduled brownouts (which, unfortunately happened while I was billeted there). Food-wise, the breakfast selection was good and more than adequate for my morning meals, I quite enjoyed them with the bonus of a beachfront view. And the free wifi was excellent. Overall, I’ll consider them again when I go back to El Nido, hopefully soon.

Great”
We arrived into La Salangane and were greeted by the friendly owner. Our room was clean and charming. Its situated a couple of feet from the Art Boutique and Cafe and round the corner from the marina. Having met a couple who were friends of the owner at a later date who informed us he had set up a number of french restaurants in China we were disappointed not to have tried the restaurant even though it looked good. The owner (we presume) even hopped on a bike t track down a tricylce so we could get to the ITI airport the next morning. Highly recommended.

nice personnel & good food”
In general, I think, the hotel is fine taking into consideration the level of service that you can get in a distant place like El Nido. This is actually not a hotel mainly (only 4 rooms for rental) but a french cuisine restaurant and bar. The restaurant is popular, sometimes you can't get a table without prior reservation, it's full of people till the middle of the night (this is a minus for those who needs silence to fall asleep by the way). The La Salangane's personnel can also organize different tours around El-Nido like island hopping, fishing or you can rent a private speed boat from them. We rented the two rooms that have no air conditioning which turned out to be quite tough because it was not always possible to leave the windows open because they open on the street and have no grids, so I twice chased the cat out of my room and I don't even want to think that any person can easily access it as well. There was no hot water in my bathroom, it was not a problem because of the heat for me but it's not o.k. for sure. So, if you need a comortable stay, don't book standard rooms but deluxe ones (with air conditioning, normal water pressure and view on a seaside).

The place to stay in El nido”
Stayed in room with fan not a/c but this doesn't matter much in El nido as the power is only on for part of the day. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in the budget room but a friend stayed in one of the more expensive rooms which had a balcony on the seafront and looked stunning. We never really noticed any noise problems. The restaurant was amazing. They serve authentic french food as well as local dishes. I recommend the beef in peppercorn sauce- amazing! The owner is really friendly and makes his own fruit infused rum with at least 10 different varieties. The bar is a great place to meet other travellers and the locals.

great location and good service”
The location of the hotel was probably the best in El Nido. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room service was excellent - with room cleaned everyday (for only 3 night stay). Restaurant food very good quality with the only drawback being limited choice for vegetarians. As such we had one evening meal only - if there was more choice would have had another evening meal. One slight drawback for us was noise from restaurant / bar into the early hours - most other establishments close earlier.

Great vibe - very cool hotel”
we had a beach front suit facing the water. beautiful room - well decorated and airy. we had room 1, which was directly next to the bar, but a bit loud though. the food at the restaurant (including the breakfast that comes with the room) was good - with rare western food - like a cheese plate for desert (which was ok, not great but good for a change). also, good house wine. everything was a bit overpriced, like everything in el nido. staff were also very friendly and speak french, english and chinese!

Great”
The price in El Nido is higher in Palawan I think. The position is really nice becauce it's on the main street and near to the pier if you'll wake up early and take the ferry to Coron. The hotel's manager, Mich, is really nice to answer and kindly help you anything you want. The only disadvantage is that the wi-fi is really unstable and slow. However, the whole El Nido is the same..

a nice place in el nido town but noisy”
la salagane is in the center of el nido town in front of the beach. the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the food is good. the staff is very helpful and friendly. the rooms are also well-decorated and clean. but the problem is the noise, especially if you have a room on the street side. however the noise is quite a common problem wherever you go in palawan!

Nice hotel with great view”
This is a small hotel with only 4 rooms, I was fortunate enough to have the larger room with a balcony looking onto the bay and what a fantastic view to wake up to in the morning. You can probably find cheaper rooms in the area but in my opinion, the view was absolutely worth it. The hotel owner and his wife are very friendly and always happy to help with any queries, and Toomy the bar man is a great source of local information as well as being good for a natter over a beer. The bar and restaurant look into the bay and have a great view of the sunset, a very nice and relaxing place. The restaurant serves good food and the breakfast was very very nice, with some good choices. Free internet is available but only in the bar and restaurant area. There is no electricity available in El Nido between 06:00 - 14:00 so you need to get used to a cold shower int he morning or wake up early, but we cant blame the hotel for that one. All in all I had a pleasant stay here and no great complaints at all.

Great View, Great way to start”
Been my first time to El Nido with my friend, and we will deciding which hotel should we stay in, looking at the photo of the balcony, I just gladly book the room, because imagine enjoying a glass of wine, with the sea breeze and listening to the waves. The room is clean up daily, and maintaining the cleanliness in the building is done in proper. The only thing wrong, is that the whole island will have a electricity breakdown for a few hours, but that doesn't really impact.me, as I can still sleep with the cooling wind, just have to open a bit of the balcony window. Breakfast is nice too, enjoying it while the tour guides get ready their boat for all tours.

Great Food ”
This accommodation serves fantastic french cuisine by using fresh seafood. You can also enjoy homemade rum that have different flavors such as banana and honey, fresh mint and ginger. When you stay in El Nido, this is the MUST to taste the french cuisine in this accommodation!! One downside of this hotel is, that the room I stayed does not have air-conditioning but electric fun. During night time, the temperature of the room was quite high so I could not sleep well.
