Nice comfortable ”
Really nice view as I had the Sea View hahahaha later on extending had to go to the small room with no view.. umm tv didn't work but did not come there to watch tv. View was great restaurant was european / french style to it good value. Also owner had a very nice yet roam around doggy clean doggy lost interest fast in us. oh yah rate across the hotel there is a guy rents Mountain bikes nice to get the exercise in. Would like to stay there longer..If i ever return will stay again in the sea view.. you stay other room sea view mine!!
The staff are all kind to help you, the food are great if your a european but plenty restaurant outside the hotel so no worry about choosing your menu! Highly recomendable and very affordable price for a room with a balcony on the beach side!
Got both budget rooms- good sized rooms, decent bathroom with good water pressure. They have a generator which came in handy during the brownouts/power shortages. Ceiling fan would be better, mosquito net needs to be changed- had holes... Over all a great place to stay...will go back!
pleasant stay and enjoyable beach front view ”
Amenities-wise, La Salangane was satisfactory. The bed was spacious and comfortable, the towels, sheets and linens clean, pillows adequate. They even provide emergency light for when the scheduled brownouts occur. The only bone of contention was that they do not have a generator for those unscheduled brownouts (which, unfortunately happened while I was billeted there). Food-wise, the breakfast selection was good and more than adequate for my morning meals, I quite enjoyed them with the bonus of a beachfront view. And the free wifi was excellent. Overall, I’ll consider them again when I go back to El Nido, hopefully soon.
Staff were really helpful and let us drop our bags early before a boat trip, also make us breakfast to take away the following morning. Great location for boat trips and long distance boats - all just 5 minute walk. Bars and restaurants all close by. Room was clean and comfortable.
Pros and Cons”
It's definitely a good location. The cons is that Aircon was not working despite many request to the staffs to check and get it fix. There was no aircon for the 5 days stay! The water pressure is too low and we hardly can take a good shower.
The price in El Nido is higher in Palawan I think. The position is really nice becauce it's on the main street and near to the pier if you'll wake up early and take the ferry to Coron. The hotel's manager, Mich, is really nice to answer and kindly help you anything you want. The only disadvantage is that the wi-fi is really unstable and slow. However, the whole El Nido is the same..
sewer water stink with amazing view!”
Ocean front rooms have amazing views, as to be expected, bed was alright, had AC, TV, and safe in unit, but the water in the shower/sink smelt like sewage, and if you do anything other than pee in the toilet they will charge you 1500 pesos for plumber to come fix it! Shower and poo at your own risk!
Great location, value for money!”
When we arrived Mitch (the manager I think) greeted us very warmly! They escorted us to our room which is right next to the restaurant. We were a bit sceptical at first but when we entered our room and went to our balcony the view from our room was phenomenal! It has a panoramic view of El Nido facing the beach! Perfect for those who wants to relax. The room was small but cozy! Shower room looks a little old but still good. Water heater, water pressure, toiletries are good. Breakfast was great, big servings and delicious! We stayed for 3 nights but was only able to get one of 2 of our breakfasts because we had to leave early on the 3rd day to Coron. Just a few steps away from restaurants and the famous seafood grills at nice at the beach. Place wasn't noisy, no mosquitos too! Overall, I would recommend this place to others who would like a hassle free and relaxing stay in El Nido.
The hotel and staff were fantastic. The staff made me feel at home, everyone was so incredibly nice”
My stay was amazing. I had the ocean front room which the view is breath taking. The view from the dinning room is also amazing if ocean front is booked. Wifi worked perfectly. The people who work at the hotel, were so incredibly friendly. I couldnt say more positive things about this place. Its also in the city center, so its easy to walk around and see the little town. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice place to stay - island hoping during day and at night pleasant place to sleep in. We tried either the restaurant and it was good. Breakfast was tasty and so did coffee. Staff is really nice and helped us with our requirements and also with tricycle booking for Nacpan beach - strongly recommend a driver Richard :-)
Our stay was good.. but Not awesome as we expected.”
Hotel's location was good as it's near establishments and the shore. We expected a room which has shore view, we also expected double mattress. Breakfast was good except the sandwich we had before we left. The place is too flexible which is good :)
Perfect place to stay for a night or 2 in El Nido ”
Our stay at La Salangane was great! Loved the deck over the water. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Food was very good, beers were cold and the wifi was super fast. Great location to explore the little town of El Nido
The hotel is well located, just in front of the sea. The room was clean and cosy. The hotel looks nice and fancy. The restaurant is overpriced (compare to all next-door restaurants). 1. It was pretty noisy since the hotel is next to the road. 2. In our room, toilet was cluttered. It was very uncomfortable. 3. The staff didn't seem to be interested in us. We had to leave at 5 a.m. and couldn't have our breakfast. Instead the staff suggested to prepare sandwiches for us. However, they didn't give us any snack.
Good ocean view but overpriced”
The bamboo wall make it look cool but you can hear all the sound from the bar and street. The light is dim and make you feel dark at night. There many windows in the room but curtains are small to cover it and make you not feel privacy. The room is hot and water flow is weak. Slow speed wifi and sometime look like it don't work.
nice hotel by the beach but terrible staff”
nice room, very nice balcony with sea view. but horrible staff. typical french, arrogant and mean. very money oriented. we booked a private boat with them, we had nice dinner at 10 people, we stayed 3 nights at their place, and still try on the mask and fines for PHP100 !! just unbelievable. I do not recommend !
The best activities in El Nido”
I can say just a best things about the Hotel. The staff was very friendly. We didn't need to worry anything. They arranged for us the island hopping. You have breakfast, if you would like you can eat a lunch or dinner at night you can sit by the bar. You can charm from the restaurant and bar,the nice view. By the island hopping...the helpfullness of the staff was perfect. Unfortunatelly I can not swim, but they help for me to enjoy snorkeling, watching fishes and the nice underwater. I recommend for everybody this hotel.
An unforgettable week in paradise!”
It is hard to define in just few words how amazing our stay was at La Salangane. Since the first moment we arrived it was not only like feeling at home....but even better! EVERYTHING and EVERYONE at La Salangane was just AMAZING. I recommend everyone who is reading this review to stay at this hotel no matter if you are a family with kids or just a couple in a romantic trip or a group of friends looking for adventure and fun. Here are my recommendations: After your exhausting trip by van from Puerto (unless you could afford the ITI flight from Manila) enjoy a wonderful dinner at their restaurant and ask their staff about the activities they offer and they will arrange everything for you...no matter if its an island hopping tour (tour A and C recommended...in that order), diving activities (they have a brand new diving center which will for sure fulfill all your needs) or an "inland" tour (i recommend Nacpan Beach one full day and Verde Safari Beach+Bucana Fisherman Town another day). Next day enjoy their very nice breakfast on their terrace while watching the prettiness of the archipelago and then head for your tour or activity. Once you are back at the hotel have a cup of coffee while watching the sunset while their staff starts to light the candles on the tables and torches in the terrace wall. If you feel like partying tonight La Salangane is the perfect place to start the night after your dinner. Nice music, nice conversation with their people, nice drinks (try their fruit flavor homemade rum) and if you want to keep the party going ask them and they will tell you the best places to keep the party going. If you are not the kinda party person then don't worry...the music is not loud at all and they close the bar early so they will not disturb your sleep.
Nice view but room is too bad and not really cheap”
No hot water, the water is salt. It's Ocean!!!! Many insects and moskitos...room is not really clean... very hot in budget room. I will not suggest anyone to stay in budget room, you will regret since you will sweat every single second. Don't try
Terrible..would not recommend.”
This was my worst hotel experience in PI...Hotel was funky and connected to restaurant...pictures much nicer than reality...Stairs to room very difficult to access....That was good part.....Water from tap very salty...was told was because of little rain....AC unit virtually worthless...Could not sleep in room...no fan...Dirty room and bathroom...could see thru floor. Booked another hotel...asked for some refund of our 4 day booking...Got nothing...so took quite a hit to move. Actually I have never gotten stuck like this in 40 years of traveling...Feel sort of stupid but dont know what else I icould have done
