Great location, good clean, no frills”

Location is great. Short walk to Night Market. Lots of food nearby. Clean and comfy in the newly-refurbished rooms. The 3-bedroom apt is too old and many things not in working condition. We stayed there the first night and it was a disaster. Air conditioners not cold and some not working.Mosquitoes. Flooded bathroom. Very old furniture. Past rentable lifespan. We complained to the Manager Mr Liem and after some serious discussions, he allowed us to change to a deluxe room for 2 and an executive room for 4 to fit our group of 5. These rooms are refurbished and the bathrooms are in good condition. Breakfast is not a big spread but sufficient and tasty enough. The staff are most willing to help but can do with a bit more smiles. Mr Liem is both accomodating and efficient. If he did not change the rooms for us our holiday would have been a disaster. They need to renovate and refurbish the 3-room apt before renting it out again so that other travellers won’t suffer the same bad experience.

    Room was noisy.”

Pros 1.Approx 60 m from main road accessible via a side alley and it's lighted at night. 2. 10 mins walk to night market. 3. Comfortable bed and pillows. 4. Room is clean. 5. Staff was helpful and accommodating though they speak little English. Cons 1. Sound of running motor several times a day including middle of the night. Each 'session' lasts 5-10mins. Observed several water tanks on the roof so I guess it must the water pump. Changed my room once but no difference. Manager was aware but don't think anything can be done. 2. Cleanliness of toilet not exactly up to mark and has a slight foul odor occasionally. 3. Simple breakfast mostly Asian fare. 4.Small swimming pool is available but more suited for kids.

    A Pleasant Stay”

    Location cleanliness nice garden

Short walk to the beach and night market. Beach is normal compare to Sao beach which have fine white sand and clear water , night market lack of varieties , mainly seafood and pearl stall which cannot be compared with Bkk or Chiang Mai. There are many construction going on which will turn this unspoilt island into another Phan Thiet in future. A three night stay at PQ shld be enough to explore this island. Lavita Hotel is highly recommend.

nice staff, good breakfast, comfy bed.

Staff in Lavita Hotel are all nice and are very concerned of the customers. The garden view from my room is good, even though its not close to the beach. The room rate is acceptable but relatively higher than other resorts on the same street that on the beach side.

Enjoyable stay in pretty garden area”

Close to night market, restaurants and bars. Not far to the beach

Room was quite basic and for a delux room I would have expected a closed wardrobe and tea making facilities. Rooms are set around lovely gardens and with the landing to each room open everyone spoke to each other. Fantastic night market with every fish imaginable at a reasonable price. Beach is close and the water very warm but most of the beach is littered with rubbish. Hotel pool is quite small and shallow but lovely for breakfast in the morning. Limited choice for breakfast that staff asked you to order the day before. Certainly not disappointed with our stay and the price was good.

Best location, nice design and friendly staff

    Cleaness, attentive staff, very welcoming.

Our stay was really pleasent. The hotel resort was immaculate and the staff were very very friendly. This is an ideal place for families and couples, close to the night market and beach. I must say, I was very impressed by the superb staff and management, I work in the industry and I was impressed with the standards. The hotel is well done with lots of plants and is like a garden.

Every day storm, can not enjoy beach at east coast at all. Sea side is not clean. Sea food in Night market are not cheap and no good service compared with another beach. You can enjoy valuable stay if you are ok in local hotel. Staffs are very helpfulness for our request. Hotel manager proposed good offer to enjoy snorkeling and fishing at Sao beach.

    Nice garden

It's in the small road with nice garden. The apartment with 3 bedroom is quite old. The lock of bathroom is broken but noone fix it. The breakfast buffet is bad. Kitchenware has not been prepared though I'd requested them before check-in date. It's kind of family management without professional staffs

    Average hotel close to Market”

Close to market, staff friendly cleaners very nice

Close to Market (which by Vietnamese prices was expensive), beach close but needed to walk 15 minutes before could find beach allowed to stay on. Building work outside the hotel but not an issue. I personally like a safe box in room (safe was at reception) and do not like a shower wet room which this was. This area and hotel attracted many Russian guests

Nice stay with great New Year Eve!”

Good location, friendly staff, well lighted & spacious room

My family did have an enjoyable stay at the Hotel with spacious and well lighted rooms looking over to the pool (abit tiny). The staffs were very friendly and helpful, kept smiling with us all the times. They even organized a lovely countdown party on New Year Eve for in-house-guest with finger foods, champagne, firework (handle ones - of course!) and nice things. I will be back!

Clean hotel in a good spot for town and beach”

Proximity to town and beaches, staff, and gardens/ quietness

Excellent for the price, bathroom was a bit basic, and telly didn't pick up the English movie channels well enough to watch. But it's clean, dirt cheap the beach is a 10 min walk and the night market is a 3 min walk. You don't sit and lounge at this hotel, you can walk along long beach finding the nice resorts or bars to hang out in, and this place is a fraction of the price of those resorts. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very poor, though I suppose you have to remember what your paying, and there's amazing street food on offer in town. See if you can find someone doing barbecued pork with rice and an egg, it cost me 45000 dong (£1.30) for that and a coffee and it was fantastic.

    A beautiful garden”

    Quiet, nice garden, helpful staff

We stayed here in two different rooms, for bookings that followed each other. The gardens of La Vita are its main draw card - for Vietnam, they're spectacular. We spent a day taking photos of our daughter in various clothes in the different settings. La Vita is away from the main road up and alley, so it is nice and quiet. This does mean that it has no beach frontage, which is the main draw card for Phu Quoc. We tended to go down the road a bit to swim, near restaurants we wanted to eat at, or bars we wanted to have a drink at and watch the sun set. They have a really strange wifi set-up, with about 5 different networks but only one seemed to work (though it kept dropping out). The staff are really friendly and helpful. The beds were pretty lumpy inner-spring mattresses, so you want to be really tired so you can fall asleep on them

a peaceful night in town close to the night market”

    near seafood, harbour and lighthouse.

Lavita is a new hotel centrally located for exploring Duong Dong town. The hotel is up a hill and has a nice garden area and small pool. Quote relaxing to sit by in late afternoon with a pot of tea or a beer. The rooms are clean and tidy with new TV. Modern shower in bathroom. Did have an issue with aircon as we could not get it to turn back on but wasn't hot so used fan. Sure they could have sorted it but were staying just one night. Little way from beach, but only 5 minutes walk or so. Friendly staff and efficient check in and check out.

Pretty gardens and friendly and helpful staff”

The gardens were lovely, beautifully designed and kept and a real surprise when we walked up the lane to the hotel to find such an oasis.

I was really pleased when we arrived at the hotel - the staff were very welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for us and it looked very attractive for a city centre hotel. We had been delayed by missing the boat from Ha Tien (due to the bus breaking down from Kep in Cambodia at the Vietnamese border), so we arrived a day late, but the hotel kindly said that we could still stay the two nights we had booked at no extra charge. Sadly though, there are a couple of things not quite right. the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We'd got used to the hard beds in Asia, but these were the worst of the lot. Also, the bathroom was a decent size and clean and relatively new, but the shower did not have a screen or curtain of any kind and was opposite the toilet which meant that everything got wet, and the floor stayed wet for several hours. A real shame, as there was plenty of space.
