Big Room and beautiful restaurant food ”

This hotel will pick you up from the Gora station which saves any struggle with bags. We had a Japanese/Western style room which was large, modern and very clean. The hotel is close to the cable car which allows travel and it is easy to walk to the Hakone Open Air Museum. To top our stay off when we requested a taxi to get back to the station the hotel offered to take us for free. Great way to stay at Hakone, would stay again

Romantic Getaway!”

We had a wonderful sty at the Laforet Club. Everything was clean, and beautifully presented. There were many hospitable touches, like the fresh socks and Yukatas daily. As well as a free shuttle to the station ( gora and ropeway ).The breakfast was phenomenal, with plenty of options for everyone. If you have the opportunity to book the private Onsen room, you should definitely do it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Excellent relaxing hotel with exceptional service”

Hotel is modern, well maintained, clean and luxurious for a modern ryokan. We stayed in a room with private outdoor Onsen and it was so convenient, but the communal Onsen faces an outdoor garden and provided a much more relaxing feel. Onsen shower amenities were good quality and evidently well thought. Meals were excellent and hotel staff were very attentive of family with young children, providing wet wipes, colouring materials, baby utensils...almost without having to request. I also liked it they had a separate kid-friendly dining area and quieter couple area which made it less stressful if you were with young kids. Location at Gora was honestly very out of the way, but we had a car and liked quieter private retreats so this suited us perfectly. Very near to the Hakone open air museum. Recommend to get full board so you can have dinner at the hotel which is really a good meal experience and hassle free as u won’t need to find food down the hill. Would love to come back!

Exceptional”

We were visiting Japan on our honeymoon and decided to see what a Ryokan was all about. We booked one night at Laforet club. This was our only regret of the experience. We should have booked more. Upon arrival, the staff was polite and professional. They spoke English well and were able to make us feel right at home. This feeling was consistent throughout the whole stay. We booked the western style hotel with private onsen. The room was the cleanest and nicest room we had throughout our whole stay in Japan. It had a beautiful view from our private onsen. the overall feel of the room was a mix of traditional Japanese enhanced with modern technology to make your stay more convenient and relaxing. We opted for dinner. This was some of the best food we had in Japan. Everything was prepared perfectly and plated meticulously. if you are contemplating the extra cost for food. it was worth every penny. We gave the location 4 stars because it is a bit away from the train station.

We have a situation when the glass museum closed at 5pm and the are no taxi and bus available. The sky was dark and cool when we have kids with us. The museum staff help us to call the hotel (we dont have mobile) and ask our hotel to send driver to pick us up. Which the driver actually off duty but they still come and pick us up. Thank you so much, appreciates

Very nice hot spring hotel with great service and facilities.”

The hotel is just located 5 minutes from Nakagora Cablecar Station, it's still accessible to us with two big luggages on the rainy day. We were asked to take off our shoes from the entrance which was really homecoming. The environment of hotel is very relaxing and luxurious. Staff were friendly and helpful, they helped to clean our luggages and took to our room. The outdoor bath tube inside our room is small but it was real onsen, really appreciate that! Really recommend this hotel to those wanna experience a Japanese onsen hotel!

Relaxing ”

We instantly start relaxing once we walked into the lobby of the hotel. The staff immediately greeted us with smiles and was ready to check us in. We speak very little Japanese but we know enough to check into a hotel. It was not necessary the staff spoke English. Our room was amazing, we had onsen in the room. The shower is located right by the onsen which was really convenient. The only thing I did not like about the room is the western bed are hard as a rock. Dinner was good! The Wagyu beef was GREAT! Breakfast was delicious as well.

Staff were fantastic - went above and beyond”

We booked a room for 5 travellers with an in-room onsen and it was fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The breakfast had sufficient western options to satisfy my 3 boys and the adults enjoyed trying the traditional Japanese items. On arrival at Gora station, we contacted the hotel and they sent a van to collect us which saved us a steep uphill walk with luggage (or alternative bus journey). When leaving the hotel, we took the offered shuttle van to the station again and my son managed to leave his iPhone on the bus. The hotel staff found the phone and then, without any fuss, forwarded it on to one of out later hotels, keeping us informed through the process. Thank you to the staff involved, we really appreciated the extra service!

Perfect home base for exploring the Hakone area ”

We booked this hotel with the intention of getting a private onsen in the room at a good price, and that is exactly what this is. The hotel staff were lovely, the communal onsen was fantastic and the in-room bath was just what we wanted. It is a slightly older hotel but nothing was particularly out of shape, just don’t expect it to be brand new. It was also great to be able to walk around the hotel in Yukata and socks, gave a good sense of home. The breakfast is also pretty good in terms of both Japanese and western (toast/muesli etc). We ate around the town and found some great restaurants if the hotel’s style of cuisine isn’t for you. Also - take the funicular up the slope to the hotel, much easier than walking!

Quiet and well appointed”

Traditional Japanese style in a quiet location. We had a semi open private onsen room which was wonderful. The hotel also has a larger onsen area for guests to use. Rooms are large and comfortable, with the option of normal bedding or futon. Breakfast is mostly Japanese style, with many choices. Could do with a decent coffee machine. Restaurant was quite expensive, and outside alternatives involve quite some walking up and down the hill.

Good place to stay. Just don't attempt to walk directly from Gora station.
