The staff and owner are very friendly and certainly make you feel welcome and the deck overlooking the lake is great at sunset.

Sanctuary in the Top End”
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lake Bennett Wilderness Resort. The Lake is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. We are already recommending it to all our friends.
Lake Bennett Resort is truly a wilderness resort overlooking a beautiful lake. We found it to be conveniently situated between Litchfield NP and Mary River, but it is a fantastic place for a weekend escape from Darwin. The restaurant is to be highly recommended.
Nice hotel very close to Litchfield”
Nice small hotel close to Litchfield National Park. All basic elements needed for a good stay were there. Quality of food was good. Even with a late arrival, they were very friendly. Do expect a good service level and a nice basic hotel
awesome freshwater lake with peace and quiet.”
this lovely older lake resort is far away from the beaten track about 2.5hrs out of darwin, but well worth visiting. the lake's water was amazing. i tasted my expensive bottled water and compared it to the lake and realized there was a huge deference in the quality and freshness. fun to be swimming and paddling in such lovely water.. the food was creative and beautifully prepared. service was perfect. we slept a lot as it was so peaceful. you just wanted to put your head down all the time as this place makes you chill out after a lovely paddle or swim..another good thing: no mobile phone access!..
Magnificent clean lake water and peace and quiet”
not gunna lie..this place was magic. loved every second of it. the food prices were way too high but then again there's no where else to go to eat! menu was interesting enough though not a lot of variety, but regardless very well prepared. staff where fabulous and very helpfull and polite.. couldn't do enough for us. went for a pddles through the sunken forest amoungst the trees..really magnificent beauty. we even swam in the lake just before departing on the last day.. really amazing swimming in such fresh tasting and pure water! going to be a great memory. nick, sydney nsw
Made us very welcome after a minor hiccup with room availability. Staff gorgeous. ”
Canoeing on the lake was beautiful at dusk. A fair drive but if peace and tranquility is what you want, this is the place.
Beautiful spot for a relaxing weekend ”
Great relaxing stay for the night. Beautiful sunset views over the lake and relaxing environment. Lake is safe for a refreshing swim and water temperature is perfect. Dinner was also enjoyable although service a little slow.
Quite a lovely quiet area but the entire site is run down and needs a lot of TLC. The staff and owner are very friendly and certainly make you feel welcome and the deck overlooking the lake is great at sunset. We stayed here as an overnight location so that we could visit Litchfield NP again on the following day, in all honesty we should have stayed in Batchelor as it is considerably closer to the NP.
Beautiful location- must stay in the rooms with the lake view though. Loved the kayaking & canoeing.”
Lake view rooms, spas on deck, canoeing, pool and restaurant on site.
A quiet resort hotel with beautiful lake view”
Though the room is not very big, but it is clean and comfortable. Sunset view at the lake side is wonderful though at this season the weather is a bit hot. It is a nice quite place to escape from city.
Peaceful Location, Lovely Scenery”
We took the Lake View room during our stay. Pros: Great view, peaceful location Cons: Room wasn't clean, room facilities were not at its best, restaurant food was awfully terrible and overpriced.
Basic overnight stay”
Ok if you want a bed for the night. Would not class it in the resort category. Only facility open was restaurant, spent most of day and evening in room with tv that only worked effectively half the time. Nice location.
The resort is all by itself, with the nearest town located about 20-30 mins away (by car). If I knew the resort is so inconveniently located, I would hv drove all the way to Darwin for the night. The TV signals were poor in the room, you can get no signals at all from 1 to 30 mins. I couldn't received my Telstra 3G signals at all too. & there's no activities at the resort after nightfall. The towels & pillows smell stale... yucks!
The room was clean and comfortable. Nice garden and lakeside views.
Not very cumfortable ”
We had a evening meal the starter was very expensive 5 prawns $32 ? Then we waited for over 45 minutes for breakfast the waitress did apologise and said they where waiting for the fryers? The bed in our room was very uncomfortable, we had booked for 2 nights but decided not to stay the second night.
An okay stay ”
Beautiful scenery, relaxing and quiet. Food was very disappointing. Aircon leaked. Tv didnt work. No milk provided in the room for coffee and tea. I was served a drink from a glass that wasnt clean. Needed a kids playground. Needed a communal bbq area.
Peaceful location and lake”
after a hot day hiking we were looking forward to a shower on our return to our suite, however there was no running water in our room. we were told we would have water in 30 minutes. however we did not have water until the maintenance man arrived at 8am the following morning. in the meantime we carried bucket's of water from the laundry to our room for personal usage and toilet. a brief apology but no compensation was given
Needs refurb, slow service, overpriced meals”
Owner was lovely... however..... Rooms were not clean- blankets had been thrown into the cupboard. Towels and 1 room smelt like urine. Stains on the mattress base. The meal service was slow and overpriced. There are no prices on the meal menus so got stung when paying the bill at checkout. Tables that we sat at the night before weren't re- made the next day- we had to ask for cutlery. Someone only came out to the dining area every 20 minutes or so, so had to wait to ask questions or order. Even had to stand at the door to the kitchen to request service. The place has so much potential- but won't be staying again.
Will not go back again ”
Asked to upgrade to the lake view room by giving us the original booked room without cleaning up from the previous stay from others. Okay to upgrade (additional $50) but the water from the spa or the tap water from toilet is in yellow color (think the water get from the lake) make us worrying to shower or brush teeth. Too many flies at night. Tv remote control is not functioning. 7km from main road (far)
Nice base for Litchfield Park”
Carolyn was excellent and very helpful.
