the lay-man's view”
well what can i say.....i simply fell in love with this place what a view. tranquility to the max. if u r a nature loving person then u would love this resort however the hotel have to buckle up on the up-keep of the resort or else they would be facing a down-fall soon. i mean from my first and second visit it was only a month or so away in duration and i could see the difference the location is great because it sits right at the banks of the lake but if u r looking for entertainment or like a town n stuff then u need to reconsider
Lake Kenyir Resort”
Hotel is very cleanliness and comfort. Chalet widely available and well suited to families with adventurous and closer to nature.Buggies are available from the chalet to the recieptionist and dining or swimming pool. But be careful with the hot water in the shower or sink because it is too hot and dangerous for children.
great for nature lovers, slow wi-fi though”
despite the isolated location of the resort, the journey here was well worth it. there are plenty of bird, squirrel and monkey sightings around the resort and they were not kept by the hotel. wi-fi is only available at lobby and coffee house area but is awfully slowwwwwwwww. for those with local mobile lines with data, hotlink only has gprs coverage. travellers with data requirements please take note. you will not be able to do much more than e-mails and instant messaging.
Excitingly wonderful and beautiful!”
I had the most pleasant stay in this Resort. The view of the lake is beautiful. Book the Lake View room on your stay here. The only complaint I have is that there is poor mobile and data coverage in the area and the only way to access the Internet is from the Hotel Lobby or Restaurant.
Pleasant staff and well priced. ”
The location is very good and the staff is very friendly and very hospitable. Very clean and comfortable hotel, Some type of rooms very spacious, also have a very nice swimming pool and leisure area, Food is excellent. According to my view it is a excellent hotel in every ways. Will certainly stay again for my next visit.
Lovely resort and good service. ”
Our chalet was facing the Kenyir lake and surrounded by forest. From our balcony, we saw Hornbills, Iguana and squirrels. Enjoyed the boat ride to Herbs garden and waterfall. The waterfall is very beautiful. We also enjoyed the swimming pool facing the Kenyir lake. The food and hospitality in the resort was good. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we will come back to Kenyir lake.
Very Private, Cheap and Peaceful Resorts”
Value for money. At MYR180, manage to get a Lakeside View Room, huge room for family. Facilities are full and at good conditions. Scenary of the Lake is excellent especially during dawn. Very peaceful as well. Got Astro channel, fridge, safety box, iron board, everything all in at such price. I can rate this resort as 4 star resort but with a very low room rate. Got deer farm, can take a bot trip around the lake. There're 14 waterfalls around those lake.
Had a relaxing and comfortable stay”
The resort feels new and very well-kept. The grand architecture of the reception block is very impressive as it wraps around a hillside overlooking the lake. The pool is clean, and with the amazing view, is very relaxing to swim in. A couple of slate tiles at the infinity pool had come off and not replaced, but this was not a major eyesore or safety issue. My kids loved the water slide. Apart from immersing yourself in nature and doing the nature trips around the lake there is really nothing else much to do. So if you choose to come here, be very sure that you're a nature lover That's important also because inevitably you will be sharing the space with critters that originally inhabit the place - forest ants, mosquitoes (very few), lizards, wasps etc... As for the lake itself, I prefer sandy or rocky banks but since it's artificially created we end up with muddy banks.
The perrfect place to relax!”
they take great care to make sure of every need. the staff is the best we've ever experienced. the food in the restaurant is superb and the staff is very attentive and helpful. breakfast is very diverse and delicious. it's a good mix of regional and international cuisine.
Great view and secret place”
The resort itself is pretty much isolated. Rarely would a man drive hours from Kota Bharu or Kuantan to live here. There's no 7-Eleven, no cinema, no shopping mall, no nothing, but the resort itself. Still, there's a lot to offer. The lake cruise is a must for everyone new there.
We stayed at the gargen view room. The room was bigger than I expected. Many people said the room was small so I'd thought the room must be really small. But it was good enough to stay. The bathroom has everything. So you don't need to carry shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, brush, body sponge etd. We liked the breakfast too except the information given and checkin are difference for the with breakfast vochour. The staff at the desk was kind. I like to stay at the hotel again.
Lovely place, Back to nature!”
A very beautiful place, weather was good, the environment was peaceful and there were birds singing all over the resort. You might spot wild Horn bill birds in the vicinity if you are lucky. Food at the resort is slightly on the pricy side. Overall satisfied. Own transport is required. There are no public transport services available as the nearest town is 35KM away.

Old resort that needs an immediate upgrade”
the resort is very old and with no maintenance. during our stay, the pool is closed for maintenance, TV channels are not working due to risk of lightning. The chalet rooms are very old and needs some renovation work. However, the surrounding environment is very nice and if you like nature, this is a place you should visit.
this is a Magical property built 20 years ago but its deteriorating quickly. Poor room maintenance, torn furniture, mildew in shower, leaking A/C unit and the restaurant is inadequate . I hope some renovations are scheduled soon !!!!!!!!!!! Price too high for what you get Ni WIFI in rooms
We were delighted to be here. The first impression, once you arrive at the reception has the wow factor with the beautiful view. Nice wooden chalet by the lake. However, maintenance is somewhat inadequate (air conditioner had to be fixed twice). There was also uncollected rubbish to be seen from the terrace. Food selection at the restaurant is very limited. Lovely hotel but seems to suffer from being understaffed.
The beds were comfortable. But the place really need some serious maintenance in order to attract returning customers. From my stay and talking to other tourists, we have common concerns. Water from WCs continue to flow non-stop. Very wastage of water. The surrounding is full of greenery. We saw many hornbill flying around during the day. We also saw night owl. There are also wild bore roaming around for food within the resort's compound. Food in the only restaurant is too salty. Staff need to proficient better in English in order to understand foreigners better.
A very old resort”
Not so pleasant.lotsa mosquitos.very old furniture. No tv channel. Food was bad. Staff at restaurant so lazy...asked us to take fork and spoon ourselves!!!unbelieavable!..the fish is not cooked properly. It is not fresh at all. Bad service. Sorry..its our first and last stay here..
Poor maintenance for whole facility. Poorly maintained room equipment, green swimming pool water, various deckings around pool collapsing, original pool food area abandoned. Restaurant quality very poor, limited selection. Would of expected local dishes to be of higher quality than the western food but both were equally poor. Resort was very understaffed and the Spa element did not exist. Location and setting were excellent with proper maintenance, staffing levels and professional catering this could be a superb hotel. We can recommend the local food at the main jetty of the lake, not open at night
Room was spacious and had lake view. Need to call for buggy to get around; can be very late especially during busy check-in and check-out time. Food way okay. Pool was nice with good view of the lake (could be the best part about this resort). The kids loved the water slide. The down side about this hotel is probably maintenance; it needs to triple its effort on that.
