We loved this small family run hotel. It’s close to all amenities, but is in a very quiet corner up on the high side of the lake. Our ‘king studio’ room is roomy and very clean, with complementary tea and coffees. We will book again next time we come back to Wanaka, it’s value for money. If you out to do sunset photo shooting, late super is available at Lakefront bar and cafe

Very clean, free hot tub usage, very nice garden, polite staff”
The room is very clean and amenities are available. The garden is very well maintained and hot tub is free for usage. Staff members are also very polite. They do provide Japanese style dinner (kaiseki), which is very authentic and delicious. Will definitely book this hotel again when we are back in Wanaka.

Superb place to stay!”
What a find! A lovely place a few minutes walk from the lake front. The rooms are clean, spacious and very well equipped. Added bonus is you get free use of a hot tub, great after a day walking! Staff and owners are very friendly.

The view from our bedroom was breathtaking. Just a short stroll to the town and within driving distance of all local attractions tips - check out the Toy and Transport museum (yes really, you will be amazed) arrowtown (lovely old gold mining town) Wanaka , one of our favourite places on the planet

Wanaka Hidden Gem ”
Cosy spot in wanaka. We stayed for 2 nights and no complains at all. The reception staff were so friendly and helped with our bags to the room. The location was super close to town- we walked the 10mins to town. Neat place to stay - highly recommended

Amazing host”
Small family owned lodge where the Japanese host looks after you very well. Very clean, neat and spacious rooms and only a short walk to the town and lake wanaka. You would be welcomed by the aroma of the beautiful authentic cooking of the host and can book in advance for dinner or breakfast. Beautiful view of the lake and backdrop mountains from the common area. Overall great location and service.

Lovely room in good location in Wanaka”
We enjoyed our stay in Wanaka. It is a lovely little town with plenty choice of shops for outdoor wear and gifts. Plenty of choice for restaurants too. Wanaka Lodge was comfortable and clean. We did not take breakfast. The bedroom had limited facilities for eating but, otherwise, everything else was good.

Economy and for budget traveler”
We booked two nights for 2 rooms . We are two couples travelled in a group. We tried their morning western and Japanese breakfast but u need to order in advance. We want to try their dinner but too late to inform as u need to order in advance. They got free parking etc..

Good hotel with helpful staff”
Compact room with comfortable bed, kettle and mini fridge. Easy walking distance to town, has a guest lounge with views of the lake. Was a little difficult to find without GPS, because it is located on a street that doesn’t run all the way through. If you on the wrong section of the street, you run out of street numbers, then you have to go down another street, along and back up another to arrive at the correct location. Staff were very helpful.

An OK stay”
We were here 3 nights for skiing. The Lodge got the basics right but there were a few niggly things that made me glad when we left, which is a shame. The room was quiet, the bed was comfy, and it was nice and warm. They made up the room each day which was great. However, the room was a bit on the small side so we were kind of on top of each other. The bathroom looked a bit dated, the shower door was all clanky and slammed a lot, and the fan made unnecessary noise which got annoying, the TV was very old and small with only 5 channels and no TV guide. I know these are minor niggly things but they all add up to take away from the great things the Lodge does. They could also be fixed relatively easily, a new TV isn't much, fix the shower door.

Decent stay”
Decent stay at Wanaka. Location was quite near central town, but is at the end of a road which was abit of a hassle with tight and limited parking space. Got upgraded to a bigger room, and was spacious and decently clean. Wifi signal in room is weak thou unlimited. Signals are strong at the common areas.
