Secluded luxury accommodation with friendly welcome ”
The Lakes Resort is well worth a stay whilst in Mount Gambier. It is a little tricky to find but definitely worth the effort. The view is amazing. It is a quiet location and so close to the famous Lakes on the edge of town. The walks are beautiful. The restaurant has to be one of the best in Mount Gambier. The owner of the Resort was extremely helpful with information on what to see and do. The spa unit was beautiful and the spa was huge. All necessities were there for a short stay. Cosy and comfortable. Thanks so much.
Exceptional”
Pros - very friendly staff. Very close to the blue lake. Cons - I booked the hotel via Agoda as it indicated No WiFi in room as that is my preference. We checked in and the wifi antennaes for the whole resort was on our room's roof! I believe this should not be this low and definitely not in close proximity to any rooms. I have worked with wifi devices for 2 decades.. unfortunately. But overall - the hotel staff and location is excellent
Fantastic Location”
Location is top notch! Ideal for going around Mt Gambier and visiting its tourist attractions. Will stay here again.
1 day stay”
Overall a good experience It is technically not a resort as the name would suggest, but it is a very clean hotel/motel The restaurant looked good, but it was closed Sunday morning for breakfast I do not know how it compares with the other hotels in Mount Gambier- I would rate it a 3 star at best
Absolutely Amazing”
So close to the Blue lake and the restaurant next to it, Thyme on the Lake is amazing. Reception was very friendly. The hotel room itself is nice and clean.
great place too stay ”
great will stay at this resort again in future very relaxing and its right next to the blue lake can walk to it
Nice above average motel”
Naming it a resort is perhaps over egging a little, The old title Grandview perhaps suited it better. It is a nice motel with friendly staff, and well run. It could do with more signage directing people to the correct rooms etc, it is in a great location, close attractive walking tracks around Mt. Gambier's tourist attractions. The restaurant wasn't open so i can't comment on the food.
Jess”
Lovely Staff. Would have liked a shower cap to be included but the stay was nice and rooms were clean. Quiet rooms and close to the Blue Lake. Lovely Views across the town.
Good location”
Location was good close to main attraction Blue Lake and Sinkhole. Pool and spa were a bonus and staff very friendly and helpful.
Business Stay”
Very clean & tidy room and friendly helpful staff. The room I stayed in was small and dated for the price I payed. Stayed here for 5 nights and only used the indoor pool/spa/gym once as way too over chlorinated and I couldn't stay in there because of it.
Great views”
Close to the Blue Lake. Just a pity that the restaurant was not open for business.
Good location for the views.”
Location is very good, so that you can easily get access to all the shops including Coles, Woolworths, post office, cinema and others. Rooms are clean and tidy. The receptionist is friendly and informative.
Facilities tired and run down”
We had specifically picked this hotel for the pool and spa. On arrival we were told the spa was broken. Expressed disappointment and advised that we had picked this hotel to use the facilities. Only an apology - no compensation.. $140.00 for one night I believe is a lot of money if you do not get what you paid for. Rooms have a nice view,But that is where it ends. Very dated and run down. The pool was barely heated... Unfortunately this is far from a resort.
good view and room”
We had a business seminar to attend for the weekend and as there were 4 adults requiring accommodation we decided to share a family room. The beds were comfortable and the room suited us well for the 2 days we were there.
Our stay was brief, but very comfortable.”
Our stay was comfortable and interesting. The town offers a wealth of opportunities to visit museums and geologial phenomena, and the hotel was excellent value for the money.
Short but pleasant”
Ok. First impressions were good but then we realised there was so much wasted space. There was plenty of room for a nicer lounge or two confortable chairs instead of the two seater lounge squashed into the corner. The was only a very small table so nowhere to sit and eat takeaway food. The TV was not adjustable & hard to watch from the lounge way across the room. The spa took over an hour to fill and the hot water service woke us throughout the night with its reheating. I dont think there was room service or if there was, it wasn't offered to us and when we asked for suggestions the receptionist did not even suggest the restaurant on the premises. Overall we were a bit disappointed with our experience probably because this was the most expensive place we stayed during our holiday and we were expecting something special.
Very ordinary experience. Not a resort”
Restaurant was closed - no prior warning, poor overall condition of room and very small. Our attraction was location and resort theme - this is not a resort. Grounds and buildings poorly maintained. Room was clean. Poor overall value.
Good”
Spa wasnt working pool was freezing and pictures are misleading they show a bath we didnt have one .was put down stairs could hear people up top walking sounded like a elephant place wasnt packed out but yet put right down bottom at end when they could of aplit it up a it so didnt have to hear next door toilet flush or them having a shower .outside light wasnt working so hard to find key hole at night .and disnt even have a toaster so have to go out for breakfast .says restaurant on site i thought that was going to be awsome for breakfast and dinner but they arnt even owned by hotel and cheapst meal was $36 ... was pretty disappointed would go elsewhere next time plus side shower has great pressure
Great value motel”
Excellent. We enjoyed our stay as we did the year before. Great value for money and the staff are lovely
Friendly service but room very dated”
Friendly staff but room was very dated and odd layout with double wash basin in same room as kitchenette. Lack of information in room for what the resort offered especially menu from restaurant and what was available.
