got less for what we've paid”

the room is spacious, however bathroom is not clean. drainage overflows every time you use the sink and take an ice-cold shower. i never mind having no headboard, but having a gap between the mattress and the wall is just intolerable thus it made my head fall between the gap and incurred neck and shoulder pain the next day. the restaurant has tourist price, nothing spectacular and seems that the staff forgot to clean the floors and the tables. just in case you are wondering how we got back to the uptown kintamani, we only paid 150k IDR for such short distance (where we bargained from 200k IDR), wherein we just paid 300K IDR from our resort in Ubud down to this hotel. far from decent restaurants. on the bright side, lakeside cottages has a nice view from the lake with the surrounding mountains and the hotel staff are all friendly.

awesome place but they have some issues with agoda”

I really liked this place. Amazing views from both sides of the hotel. Cool staff that you can actually get to know and are reasonable if you actually take the time to chat with them. It was fun watching the stars at night and the local guys fishing with glow in the dark works nearby. Awesome warm pool and free shuttle to some epic hot spring palace nearby. I had some issues with the local mafia running the "treks" up the mountain. Either do it on your own and save a ton of money or book with the hotel as they have their own guides. Apparently they have some issue with agoda and they haven't been getting the money or the confirmation from guests so they were surprised when i showed up. They recommended booking on booking. Com so they can actually see who is arriving.

Fab location”

Perfect location on the lake. Our superior room was large and comfortable with an amazing view. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice. There's a nice pool but we didn't use it as only stayed for one night. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Sunrise hike to Batur Volcano was excellent.

nice view, location was great”

this hotel have a very nice view and ambience actually, but they need to do lot of improvement to the room, from the lighting in toilet was not bright enough, the room was ok, clean and big bed. the swimming pool also very nice, the water is warm . the only one thing is worse it the restaurant, we had lunch there and all foods comes out terrible, the spring roll even made from wrong flour type, not eat able, all foods just very unacceptable with so pricey, much better walking to outside of main road and get good food at few warung. i never write worse thing , this is the first time i really upset, it just from the food. breakfast just ok, but the tea comes out with greasy in surface of tea. you can see it. overall, for room and location was perfect, they just need to do a lot of improvement.

Nice place to stay on shore of Lake Batur. Very popular with vacationing Indonesians. Pool is awesome. Only drawback is if you go during beginning of rainy season (Dec, Jan) the flys are really bad. They dont bite but there are a lot of them.

Right at the lake. Beautiful scenery.”

The location is beautiful but hard to find. You need a motor bike to get around. The place is run down. They are more interested in selling you trek tours to the mountain which they lie to you and say it is a 2 hour hike but more like a 4 or 5 hour hike. You have to watch your money in Batur. The people involved in the tourist industry have a drinking and gambling addiction. They are hungry for money.. My experience is that they will constantly aggressively ask for more money. This was with the tour, hotel and Taxi. The Wi-Fi was not reliable and slow. Our room I had more because the deluxe room had no view and was ruin down down and dirty. There was no hot water. The pool was slimmy and dirty. We mad the best of it but it was one of the worst hotel in our honeymoon trip.

Best option in this town”

This hotel doesn't have the quality we pay for, clearly, but it is still the best you can get in this mafia town ! Wifi is not working well, breakfast is poor, staff is not always very professional (getting drunk and very loud with his friends around the swimming pool) hotel definitely needs renovation, manager says your booking wasn't noticed to him... but the swimming pool is nice, the location great and the views amazing...

very overpriced and rundown”

The view of the lake from the pool area. Nothing else.

Whilst this place is not falsely advertised, exactly, and the owner upgraded to a deluxe room after we threatened to leave, for almost $40 it is a complete rip off as it should be more like $10 or backpacker rates. The restaurant was all closed up by 7pm so we ate elsewhere and it seems almost everything in the hotel and surrounding areas has been designed to rip off tourists. Very disappointed.
