Good for family”
The public car cant reach this resort, have to walk along the beach. The cleanliness of bathroom is need to improve or should have a big maintenance. The pool was smaller than the picture shown since i spent the time out of the resort so i didnt have a chance to enjoy the pool. The hotel should provide the towel rack for wet cloth. If you want the restautant, club, the fire show you better stay in Sai keaw beach, this beach is suited for family. Anyway the hotel staff has a good service mind .

Good location, nice room”
Standard hotel with compliment the pool (small pool) and have many choice of breakfast menu. The rooms are quite good but my air-condition wasn't cool enough however they fixed it well. 1 step out of hotel to restaurants and bars that's awesome choice if you need to enjoy night party or see the fireworks show. So it isn't good choice for peace and calm because many hotel got the group travellers especially Chinese but that's awesome if you need to have fun at night.

Modern hotel on the beach - but a Chinese tour hotel...”
Rooms: modern, a little small but adequate. Bathroom ok. Safe in the room. Open wardrobe (rail) and mini-fridge. Nice balcony. Hotel: Quite a lot of rooms in a small area, with minimal privacy as you can easily see in to the rooms opposite - the pool is in between but it's very narrow. Pool itself is ok but the quality of the tiling is poor and although this hotel seems relatively new (2-3 years maybe) a lot of tiles have broken and been repaired, with mixed success. Breakfast was poor - limited choices and few staff on hand. This isn't helped when large tour groups are also dining at the same time as tables tend to be unoccupied yet uncleared. Not so many tables either - they do have more on a second level but not practical. Note: this hotel seems to target large Chinese tour groups that temporarily take-over. Within minutes the pool had 20+ Chinese in it who were very loud. Breakfast also gets messy/empty when they descend. Loud. This is the major drawback.

Bed bugs alert”
My husband and I both got these bed bugs bite. It was very itchy and the marks of the bite are very disgusting.

Over priced with rude staff”
Plenty of other nice places along this beach, rooms are tiny with faulty air conditioning, had to change room twice, no apologies, was made to feel like we were putting them out! Woke up at 9am to the sound of drilling, not a good way to start the holiday! Same the next morning, you’d think they would at least wait til guests were up before they start with the noise! Pony establishment so look elsewhere

Best of the Ao Wongduan hotels”
This was my first time time to Koh Samet and we chose La Lune based on good reviews and price. The hotel was good and clean, which os surprising considering the sand on everyone's feet. They are little foot wash pools outside the lobby that help. The restaurant was okay, but really shined when the evening came and they do a beach side barbeque each night. Delicious. This hotel tended to be quieter than its neighbors and my wife and I appreciated that. Plenty of other restaurants and mini-marts are within walking distance. The beach was good and wide enough when tide was down. Even when up, there was enough space for sun worshipers. The pool is clean and partially shaded at certain parts of the day. The staff is friendly and seem to work non-stop. So at least you can become familiar with them. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know wanting to go to Koh Samet. We took the Cherdchai bus from Bangkok-Ekkamai to Ban Phe. Round trip tickets were about B320 each and takes about 3.5 hours each way. Once you arrive at Ban Phe you can walk across the street to Nuantip pier and buy a ferry ticket to Ao Wongduan. You have to wait until they have 20 people before they go, but its not bad. They ferry you to an initial pier, but you stay on the boat and they continue on to Ao Wongduan. Once in the bay, you transfer to a flat boat that takes you to the beach, with a charge of B10 per person. If you have trouble walking or getting around, I would recommend finding a speed boat that can take you directly to the beach. Transferring between the pier - ferry - boat - beach can be tricky. Once on the beach, you have to pay the National Park entrance fee, B40 for Thais and B200 for everyone else. So have some cash on hand before leaving the pier.

Resonable Price & Cozy Atmosphere”
It was quite good! I get really good memory from this trip! Ao Wongduen(in front of the resort) is not the most famous beach in Kho Samet, so shops closed very early (before 8:00 pm). But Still so nice! You can enjoy a kind of private beach in front of the resort and have a cheap and nice meal very in front of the beach. The way to go was also nice and the boats (speed or ferry) stopped in front of the Lalune beach resort. I keep this memory for a long time :)

Pretty good overall!”
Pros: Wong duan beach is very pretty, crescent shaped, and is lovely because it is less busy. Many restaurants offer a barbecue on the beach Mini shop - next to lalune - lady speaks great English and has good recommendations about why to eat at the restaurants Omelets for breakfast!! - lady was so friendly!!! Cons: Staff has limited understanding of what you say - instead of saying they don't understand they just agree. I saw many people get incorrect food because the staff assumed they knew what the people wanted. ATM is not on premises FYI-not a big deal but their website advertises that they have one. Overall, if you can get a good rate for this hotel - it's pretty decent...beach is amazing, even in high tide...just don't expect to get to know the staff or make small talk unless you speak Thai...

Great hotel at a lovely beach location”
La Lune Beach Resort is a nice place to stay on Ao Wongduan bay. The rooms are nicely remodeled and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and makes for a nice stay. The beach is down the way from the more busy and popular beaches, but you can visit those during the day or evening and come back to your quieter and cozier La Lune resort.
