Where to stay in Lamai
Lamai hotels & accommodations

this place was heaven - my best stay ever. we had booked at ocean view balcony. when we got there, they offered us a pool villa!! we didn't even ask, and there was no extra charge. the pool villa was so enchanting, with the mosquito nets around the bed. great bathrooms too. oh and their shampoo and conditioner is great too - works better than what i have at home and...

Don’t let the road down to the resort fool you. Because once you arrive, you are greeted by a wonderful staff, who is always polite, welcoming and helpful. The resort itself is very clean and modern. Family deluxe room has plenty of space. I wish there was a gym, though. The restaurant has a great view of the beach. Breakfast is tasty, but lacks variety. Dinner is gr...

We arrived at about 2pm at Banyan Tree Samui and was immediately attended to by my Villa Host, Mr. Thep. As our rooms were not ready, we were ushered to the Lobby Lounge to wait. As we were ahead of check-in timing, we could only have the villa ready by 230pm. Our host introduced us to the resort and the dining options. Perhaps it was raining, hence he did not bring...

You cannot usually find a resort with definitely 3-star room rate but with 5-star facilities, services and exceptional accomdation experience. This resort is located a bit far away from Lamai but it was Ok for peaceful family journey. You can easily catch taxi, tutu beside the road in front of the hotel with a fair fare to downtown area. The beach is really wide and cl...

the THB was a great option for the money in Lamai. the hotel far exeeds others in its price range. Although the rooms are a little dated, they are all in great shape and are very large. Most rooms do not have excellent beach views, although few hotels in Lamai beach have them. The hotel makes up for it with great service, secure lockboxes, excellent wifi all over, a...

I have traveled extensively to Thailand but this was my first trip to Samui so I wasn't sure whether to stay in Lamai or Chaweng. Based on Agoda reviews I picked Lamai and I am so glad I did! Chaweng has a slightly nicer beach but aside from that, Lamai is the place to be if you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful stay but still crave a little night life. Lamai Wanta...

After did for so many filtered of hotel, thanks god, this is the best selection of hotel. We enjoyed big pool and beach front hotel room. But the hotel is a bit inside from main road, you will need to walk out like 5-6 mins to access to main road. Therefore we rented a bike with hotel so that we able to drove to far to explored others areas than Lamai beach. We would l...

We had a 2,5 week honeymoon roundtrip in Thailand. This hotel was definately the best of all. First when we arrived, the owner (a nice dutch guy) gave us complimentary room upgrade. Our room was big, and very clean and nice. The staff did everything to make our mood the best. They were also proactive. The hotel has a nice bay with clear water (6 hotels share this nice ...

My family spent 4 nights in Palm Coco Mantra Resort. We stayed in the Villa. - Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and cheerful. - Accommodation price is reasonable. Palm Coco does provide transport service from hotel to the airport (we paid $500Bhat). It costs $700Bhat from the airport to Lamai northern area. - Well connected with strong WIFI. - The buffet b...

I stayed at the Am Samui Palace for 2 nights - it's a really nice hotel in Lamai beach. It's a slightly quieter area of Koh Samui. About 30 mins from Chaweng but personally I didn't like Chaweng so that was fine! The room was really nice and big, the bed was comfy, the breakfast was great (one of the best I've had in Thailand, the pool was a great size, lots of lounger...

I have been to Samui numerous times since 1994 & Kala's location between Lamai & Chaweng had always been my favourite area of the island, simply due to the higher landscape offering breathtaking view over the Gulf and Chaweng. Kala was thus a fine surprise --- from the moment you enter the hotel to the reception lobby, the restaurant to the rooms, and the bar to the po...

We stayed at Langham Place for the last two nights of our holiday and can highly recommend it. The staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible from offering cooling towels or a refreshing fruit kebab by the poolside to their ceremonial fire ballon release in the evening with a free cocktail thrown in.The pool area is very comfortable includ...

We stayed as a group of three in the Jasmine Villa. We had two king size beds on two floors, a large bathroom and a big balcony with a stunning view on the island and ocean. The hotel consists of a few villas that are placed over the hill. I really liked the facilities. Everything is done with love for detail. The staff is very friendly and always assists, if you need ...

We've been guests of this hotel for several times, and always prefered to choose it because of its extremelt conviniet location: in very quiet and beautiful place in Lamai. Seems to us, that this hotel fits for families with babies as much as bossible, because there is nice and large enough pool nearby, very close to the seacoast and no roads with high traffic nearby. ...

before booking a place i visited one by one all the resorts in Lamai Beach and Marina Villa was the best one for what i was looking for. If you need a place in a calm area (not too close to noisy pubs), two steps from the beach, clean and walking distance from everything without spending lot of money then this is the place you are looking for. i got a ground floor roo...

We ordered 2 Deluxe Thai Villa in advance of 6 months with a good price. We arranged 5 persons in each villa. It is big enough for Maxium 6 persons to live in. It is very convenient for the family that there is a kitchen inside. The resort location is a little bit far from Lamai Town, but it is very quiet for relaxing. The hotel beach is very clean and lovely. The taste o...

+ good located hotel in Lamai. Clean beach, entertainment and beach dinner. We were on our honeymoon trip and they surprise us with decoration and a cake. - clients are reserving with towels the seats at the beach early on the morning. Service staff don't speak good English but they are very friendly. Rooms are not luxury.

Good privacy with a private pool. (1.3m) Be careful if you can't swim. It's quite deep! Comes with a huge round bathtub that faces the sea. SUnrise view. Very romantic. There are 2 different pools within the hotel compound. Both have different views. MUST TRY BOTH! Good for Instagram/ Facebook pics. Also relax at the Star bar. Star gazing with a nice cold cocktail is g...

2nd time staying at this hotel, have stayed at other hotels in Lamai but we think this is the best hotel in Lamai.. wouldn't stay anywhere else now. The rooms are excellent, very clean, modern rooms, great bathroom and shower. The housekeeping staff do a very good job, each day our toiletries, coffee, tea, sugar and 2 bottles of free water are replaced, Very good valu...

I arrived mid afternoon and they were waiting for me. After a hassle free check in by a very friendly lady I was taken to my Villa. My first impression was how nicely it was hidden by foliage and secondly how big it was. It was a lovely room, huge bed, TV etc. On waking in the morning before breakfast service had started I was disappointed that there were no Tea/Coffee...

This is truly a boutique resort with only 20 or so rooms. Resort is well maintained and the grounds amd pool are lovely. We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite overlooking the beach and at just under £100 per night it offered so much for the money. Breakfast at the hotel is pretty good and offers most of what you'd expect. It is a buffet but tea and coffee and eggs, bacon etc ar...

marina beach resort is situated at the beach of lamai, there is a path between the bungalows to the beach with a small bar an free chairs. its a very nice and long beach there, unfortunately there was no clear water. the rooms are ok, i used also the standard room before, and i would prefere that one, altough it is cheaper. there are lots of restaurants in the surround...

Lamai Inn 99 is a great place to stay if you are on a budget but still want some home comforts like tv air con hot running water swimming pool etc. when booking it was amongst the cheapest places to stay in Lamai on agoda but what you get for the money probably beats a lot of places charging more in the same price range. dont get me wrong this is a budget place but it ...

loved the hotel so much i regret i only booked for one day! definitely much better than any place on chaweng beach that is blasting with loud music and too commercial. lamai beach is close enough to chaweng yet set away being private and peaceful. we will definitely stay here again if we ever return to koh samui!
Cheap places to stay in Lamai

Clean hostel. Good A/C in rooms and excellent showers. Friendly staff. Convenient location 5 mins from beach, near food market and health food shop, but away from party noise. Large chill out area but they could utilise it more to create social space. I would return here.

I have been here since the end of April and I have another 3 weeks to go. This is a great place to stay and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly without being intrusive and do their best to make your stay a good one I am staying in one of the basic bungalows which is fine for a solo traveller on a budget. They do have better rooms available if you wa...

Overall a wonderful experience at Mali Resort. Location is quite good, not too far from lamai beach, and far enough to feel as if you're lost in wonderland. The owner was friendly and the staff helpful. Room itself was clean, and the resort overall had a beautiful vibe with deco that fit perfectly with the environment. Felt like the owner put in love into the place. Ne...

Gilda, gave me a joining room beside her room, so i could literally her her breathe. So if you can hear breath every other noise is quite disturbing, including her thai workers gossip sessions. Also, there were multiple lists of rules placarded all over the room. Just not a very comfortable place to stay. Gilda was a nice gal.

Lamai Central Hotel is in a great location, 1km to the beach in either direction. The room was small but comfortable, the room nicely decorated with all the modern amenities - a flat screen, small fridge, and a sparkling pool - unbeatable for what you pay. Inexpensive eateries are close by, 7-11 across the street, and a shopping mall close by. At times during the day t...

On Lamai Beach, the Rich Beachside Hotel features a bar(Swing Bar) which boasts scenic views of the ocean and a simple but nice décor. This place is easy access to shopping, dining, massage palours and entertainment spots. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and the beach bar. Rooms are big and clean and feature cable TV, a fridge and a personal safe. They are...

Have stayed here a couple of times before and they have made some improvements with opening a restaurant with very affordable food for both breakfast, lunch, and afternoon coffee's. Hotel and rooms are clean and tidy and staff are friendly. We will return again on our next visit to Lamai.

i was in many places in thailand with backpack and @ lamai resort was very good place to stay. very clean and big room. no insects. located outside from the main lamai road but by foot to: tesco 10 min., beach 12 min, main lamai turist road 15 min. hostel crew was very helpful – they picked us up via car from the lamai when were not able to find the resort during fi...

the staff make the hotel here and are really friendly and helpful and speak good English and they keep the place spotless the owner is a great guy to and really looked after me here. great location seconds away from the beach, I loved i.sky café on the corner to. near a good gym and a few good bars and loads of massage parlours. cheap and great value for money. only mi...

perfect location for going out, 2 minute walk to all of the best bars, nice balcony, peaceful at night, many restaurant nearby, no noise but right on the action of the main strip. easy return at night, large open foyer and straight up to your room, it's like having your own apartment in central lamai. you keep the room key on you and come and go as you please. Excellen...

I enjoyed to stay there as I was searching for an hotel in the "real centre" of Lamai, close to the beach, to the restaurants and bars. This hotel is well managed by a lovely Thai family speaking English, French and probably German (not tested ;)). If you don't want to spend your holidays in your room, if you prefer the beach to a swimming pool, for that price, this is...

Cheap ones are over the road bit too far away. Bungalows near beautiful clean infinity pool with garden view need updating and are very basic. We would only stay a couple of nights. Bathroom is old style with walk in shower, not very nice but its cheap stay. Beds not great but clean sheets but had purple marks. No kettle but fridge. Best beach in area. Pool was beauti...

I booked this last minute when i stayed in Lamai in the new year. The hotel is in a poor location, and I had to make my way to their sister hotel on Lamai Beach to check-in. They then arranged transport to the apartment. You would need a motorbike if you were to stay here. The room was just about acceptable for a nights stay. I checked out the following day.

I really loved my stay there. As busy as Samui is I did not expect to find this little quiet escape. They are what the name states :) Bungalows are very simple but lovely, all you need is there. Even guests staying there are somewhat different.. The little beach in front is just perfect to lay lazy, and there's a beach shower as well. Their restaurant makes nice food f...

Pros: The owner very took care of us. They help us find affordable rental car and book taxi that give good price to us. Breakfast was ok. The room very clean and we booked beach front room which we get very spectacular view. The place is quite far from the Lamai town. But it is ok for us. But still have family mart and makro within walking distance. (Family mart about ...

This place is magic! Rooms are cozy with love. The food is amazing: all fresh, organic, healthy and so so delicious!!! The garden is so nice with a big beautiful pool and yoga Studio with a gym! The place is located in Lamai! Which is the best place to stay on a he whole island. You have everything around, but it’s not to busy. And last but not least the owner is ...

We extended our stay to a total 3 weeks. Our room ( Deluxe Room) was on the second floor and has very high ceilings, excellent air conditioning and a veranda that was large enough for two people to do yoga comfortably. The room was cleaned and prepared well every day. The pool here is SALT so very comfortable if you dont like chlorine. The pool is long enough to swim l...

Stopped here whilst in the lamai area, was very cheap and the room did not disappoint. Was a good size, with an ensuite. The best feature of this hotel was the staff, the lad behind the counter was very helpful, he showed me the sky TV set up in the rooms, and even hired me out a scooter without taking my passport. For me this was a bargain hotel with great service. T...

This 2 stars Hotel, have a huge room, with a good air con, the bed is very comfortable, a nice living room, with cable TV, and they can offer you a balcony, as well. The bathroom have a nice hot water shower, and, the location is really good. The owner is a very nice person, and she'll help you to understand all rules and all facilities that they offer. Our trip was meant to be a time to relax with my husband and three children...all under 10. The resort has the friendliest people on staff. The problem is it is a little short staffed. The only kitchen is at the pool bar. It puts a lot of pressure on a small staff. That being said the food was always really good. We were in vacacy mode so we didn't mind waiting.. ...

The staff was very accommodating with any request you have, they also offer motorbike rentals (you will need it in lamai). Hotel is situated in a decent area not far from lamai beach by bike. Hotel was clean and pool was nice. Breakfast is a bit on the expensive side but the food is great

My wife and I stayed at the weekender for 4 nights in October 2012. The Weekender has many room types from very budget to upper class. We stayed in a Deluxe room. There are big, beautiful and clean. There is a large building at the back of the resort right near the road where the standard rooms are these were all getting a make over with a lot of building work going ...

I really like this hotel. It is a small hotel but you don't really feel it because they way it is set up makes you feel like you are hidden in a tropical land and you care barely see the edge of the hotel. you only see trees and plants! You have your own bungalow covered with tropical trees and lovely plants and flowers. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very fr...

I am very glad to stay in this villa. It is very well maintained, everything looks new and clean. The villa has a jacuzzi private pool, jacuzzi bathtub, sunbeds, a big leisure bed just besides the pool. The check-in is really marvellous, after entering the gated compound, the taxi driver would stopped just in front of the villa that we stayed (not lobby), and the vi...

We stayed at the Tropical Sea View Residence for one week in May and I have a feeling that we were among the first visitors. The reception for the hotel has not yet been built and there are still JCB's in the grounds which I am guessing will continue to be used until the placed is finished. That said, the rooms themselves were beautiful. They were really stylish, mo...

All in all had a great stay at these Villa`s, it is a little off the main road so need transport if you want to go anywhere. having the private pool was fantastic and kept the kids busy all day. Be aware that you have to pay a 20000baht deposit at check in and you are also charged for electricity and water usage. I wasn't aware of this when making the booking.

Loved how the outdoor area was private, we stayed in the 1 bedroom villa and the beach is literally on your doorstep. The only thing is that the shower is cold only, however this didnt mind us too much, given how hot it was when we visited. The staff were amazing, organising anything we asked for and the villa was big enough for us :)

We were visited Koh Samui during 12-15 October 19 and selected this house for all 7 people in my family. We were happy every day we stayed there as the house let us feel like our own. Very comfortable facilities and my kids love the swimming pool very much. The location is also great with nice ocean view and easy to go anywhere around Koh Samui. Staff is also kindly go...

That's the best hotel I been so far! I love their breakfast and their staff very nice. Good sea view and you can snorkeling in the private beach. there is a nice restaurant in main beach, cheap and very delicious. but if you wanna go to Lamai or chaweng you must by taxi or motorbike.

Staffs are all good and friendly. Breakfast and welcome fruits are luxury. The thing that I don't like is too quiet and location is not good enough. We got to walk for about 400m of rough tar road to reach the entrance of the hotel. At night, we planned to go to Lamai night market through the beach, from the map, it's just 2km away, but it's too quiet and too dark. Fin...

My wife and I just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had, and a major contributing factor was our stay at Ammatara Pura Pool Villa. The hotel is absolutely stunning. if you are looking for something a bit away from the hustle and bustle of koh samui, this hotel might suit you since the location of renaissance is perfect - not too far away from chaweng & lamai beach but retain the reclusive feel of a quiet holiday place, even though the beach is a bit small and the water is sometimes too shallow to swim. however, the kayaking is per...

Amazing Villa set in the hills of Lamai with an amazing view & a lovely staff. The host Moritz was very helpful & welcoming & ensured we had a great stay with him there to help with any issues.
