Hotel for people who love nature”

All the plants around the hotel, you feel like you are staying in the jungle.

There were mixed reviews about the hotel so I booked it with some trepidation as I am taking a bet. The drive to the hotel cause me to fear as its seems remotely out of lampang city area and airport. However, the moment I enter the hotel, I fall in love with the place. The greenaries and trees surrounding the little Thai cottage really make you feel like you have stepped into a different time zone and era. Yet the amenities are available, air con works perfectly well, hot water is working and tv is fine too. Yes there are no bath tub but for the price you are paying, I think this is well worth it. The room open to a little balcony opening you to view of the greenaries around you and the breakfast place is clearly a winner. Crossing the suspension bridge (you can choose the normal path too) and dinning beside the river. This is indeed a great place to unwind and relax. This is a place for nature lover who want to enjoy the green around them and the nice hospitality of the Thai people. If you are looking for a ShangriLa or banyan tree kind of resort, this is not for you.

A beautiful garden hotel in Lampang.”

A beautiful atmosphere, Good foods, well trained and freindly staffs

We stayed for a night for a old friends meeting, and choose this hotel to stay and chat and eat. If you like a hotel with peaceful beautiful tropical garden , here it is. The room we stay is a bit simple but clean, but not good at sound proof from the next room , for example T.V. and chating. And before night there are lots of mosquitos you must prepare cream or anything to prevent them, but anyway, it is normal situation for the tropical atmosphere. The hotel located on the river side with a good view for the breakfast. One more thing you must concern is transportation, because it located on the out skirt of the Lampang city.

Lampang River Lodge a Heavenly Cozy Resort”

Unique, cozy, hip, stylish, service minds, good climate
Dark, isolated, no free internet, ABF, staff basic knowledge about their county

I love this place. It is unique and cozy along the route to downtown also a good place in between the northward way from Bangkok to Chieng Mai. I took only 10 minutes driving to Pra Tat Lampang Luang, an unseen amazing landmark of Thailand. But you may take longer during the festive seasons (New Year, Songkarn, etc.) Service is excellent although the staff may have very light knowledge about their city. ABF is acceptable but not outstanding. It looks like another planet by night. Not recommending to hang out in rainy season as you have to fight with mosquitos. But if you love unique and cozy place, comfortable, flagship location to a hip county in Lampang. I prefer to recommend this hotel.

An ideal place for a honeymoon

a very nice hotel well laid out amongst a lot of trees and foliage.it is on the banks of a river and sitting having breakfast on the riverbank is a delightful experience.the rooms are clean and the staff very friendly.we spent christmas here but the food they served for the christmas dinner was not good for the price they charged.the ala carte menu is much better.the only drawback with this hotel is that is is located far away from any shopping area of the lampang town.one has to have some means of transport to stay there .

Lanna-style hotel nestled amidst lush greenery”

Stepping into Lampang River Lodge feels like stepping into tropical Garden of Eden as the hotel is blessed with welcoming lush greenery of myriads beautiful old trees. The northern-style dishes served at the hotel's restaurant is truly delectable and tasty breakfast also comes in a generous proportion. All in all, I really enjoy my stay at the hotel.

Nice hotel, great garden”

very nice garden, friendly staff

We stayed there during our trip through thailand for one night. Wonderful hotel. All rooms are little bungalows, stndard rooms are in blocks 2-4 rooms in one building. Our superior room was a bigger single bungalow. Restaurant (BBQ) was fine. Pool is a little bit small, but very beatuiful. Keep you windows and doors closed, some "animals" are anywhere due to the location between river and small lake an the garden like a rainforest. Location of the hotel: not very easy to find, outside of Lampang. But this is fine for a one night stay during a trip.

Hotel by the river”

Quiet surroundings, large room, nice garden

You'll probably enjoy Lampang River Lodge for its location by the Wang River and its large garden, small lake and even a few ducks. If you want to stay in a serene, quiet surrounding, this is the place for you. But car is essential as the hotel is far out of town (about 10-minute drive). The hotel is however close to the main attraction of Lampang - Pra Tat Lampang Luang.

Lovely place to relax”

Room, pool, surroundings

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful ( I got loaned a bicycle to pop the the local shop). Great pool for the kids, running in and out of it was great fun. The location of the resort is about 5 km outside Lampang which made it a quiet place to stay, we had our own car. The buffet breakfast was great, nearly the best we had on our travels, the view of the Wang made it!

2 night stay in Febraury”

I would recommend this resort but not for more than a couple of nights. My partner and I stayed at this resort as part of a larger wedding party having previously spent a week in Chiang Mai. This hotel resort complex was exactly as other reviews had lead us to believe. The grounds are stunning and it is a great jungle getaway but it is a long way from Lampang unless you have a car. Some othe members of our party flagged a yellow truck taxi on the nearby highway (which you can't hear or see from the resort! Amazing) one morning at rush hour but they waited 15 minutes. Booking a superior room is highly advised as they are stand alone chalets. Our deluxe room was part of a terrace of chalets and you really can hear everything your neighbours say and do. The beds were very comfortable and a little air con makes the temperature just cool enough to be able to snuggle up in the duvet. The room was also quite small and the storage space wasn't well optimized. We were impressed with the size of the big open shower and we had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room and grounds. Staff were friendly whenever we encountered them but the resort is quite big with windy paths and the pool is the opposite side to reception and the bar and was mostly unmanned. I expect this is the best place to stay in the vicinity of Lampang but by Thai standards it isn't cheap. The cost of beer is almost double that of Chiang Mai bars and although I can appreciate the grounds and pool need a lot of maintenance, we did get the impression that they knew they were the best and could charge us as such without putting too much effort in. We would recommend not to bill anything to your room, take lots of cash. Some of our party were overcharged at checkout.

Amazing park and nice pool”

Good: the hotel is in a forest, very very nice, small paths and wooden bridges, kids and parents both loved. Breakfast is excellent. The pool has a great view. Staff is lovely. Rooms are wooden houses, quite big. Less good: rooms are a bit old, the bathrooms not at the standards of this hotel. Sometimes the pool is a bit noisy with the highway nearby but generally it's ok. We will come again if we return to Lampang with kids.

Nice & quiet hotel”

Ambience

We stayed at Lampang River Lodge for 1 night to attend an event in Lampang province. The hotel is a bit far from the city and there's really nothing much around it, so unless you eat at the hotel, you'll need a car to go elsewhere. We had breakfast and dinner there. The food was ok but their Thai dishes tend to be catered to foreigners rather than keeping the authentic Thai tastes.

Nice hotel in the middle of nature”

Good service and restaurant, nice swimming pool

We enjoyed our stay at the River Lodge of Lampang. It is an ensemble of small independent cottages into the forrest close to the river. It is a nice place where to pass the evening and the night. A good restaurant can serve very good thai dishes, together with whatever you prefer. The service is good. The swimming pool is nicely located in the middle of the trees, as the whole site. We recommend this hotel for its position also, close to ancient historical and archeological sites.

Nice garden but very smelly rooms”

The garden is huge and nice, clean and spacious superior room, Food ok, Manager speaks good English,
Very strong musty smell room, Closed to a highway and a local music pub, Far from Lampang (10 kms), short blanket,

My husband and I stayed at Lampang River Lodge Hotel for 2 nights. And I think that it is a little expensive for what you get, even if you get discounts with websites such as Agoda. We got a very trong musty smell superior room: the entrance and bathroom doors were all covered up with mould. The smell was so strong that it tickled my nostrils and my throat. It became really unpleasant to breathe in the room. It's a pity as the room is clean and spacious, the garden and the swimming pool well maintained, and the view from the rooms are nice (over a fish pond or the garden. The food is ok but one of the meals at the dinner buffet was not fresh (wonton soup) so I got a little sick. The staff is nice and helpful : only the girls at the reception did not seem to be well informed about the services provided by the hotel. During day time, the hotel is quiet, but at nightfall, you can hear loud music coming from the local pub just in front of the hotel and sometimes cars and trucks from the highway which is 200 m away from the hotel. We did not sleep well not because of the noise but because we were cold during the night (december nights are cool in the north !) : the blanket provided is thin and very short and when you pull it up, your feet become uncovered ! The hotel did not provide any tourist information in the room or at the reception : The manager speaks good English and took time to show us how to get by bicyble to the Wat Prahat Luang, the most visited temple around Lampang : it is only 6 kms away from the hotel (and 18 kms from downtown Lampang) through paddy fields and villages. Nice bike trip.

Quaint resort off the beaten path”

Quiet place with wonderful staff.

We decided we wanted a place near Lampang City that was quiet and peaceful. This was the place, with large room with balconey overlooking the lake. All staff members were incredibly accommodating with all our needs - all with a smile. A taste of the "real" Thailand. My partner had a birthday anniversary during our stay and we were provided with a special meal (her choice) and had cake with candles and "happy birthday" accompanied by the local Thai band. Nice grounds, good pool, spa, and great place for relaxing

A peaceful resort”

Peaceful location, beautiful clean pool, and good facilities in the bedrooms.

It is about 6 km out of town, bus station, and train station, but in a peacful location, just off highway 1 near the Cusco petrol station. A tuc to town way into Lampang town a sleepy little town - (maybe we were overcharged by driver !!) The reception staff have very limited English and therefore appear to be very unhelpful, but all facilities in the room were good. The resort is deserted all day as tour groups come in and out and we were there for 3 days, so enjoyed the town and also the lovely pool. The owner takes a pride in the gardens surrounding a lake and the lodges are well appointed. The menu was very limited on the first night, just one page for all courses !! However subsequent nights we were offered a full a la carte menu which cost about including drinks. was the cost of the buffet p.p. which to us did seem very expensive for the choice on offer. A la carte is the best option if you can choose, although the buffet is for the tour groups I guess.
