I needed to find a bed quickly & being July & hot, preferably with a pool! After a # of weeks staying within ChiangMai Moat, I decided to venture out & Lanna Boutique Resort was ticking all my boxes! Although not sign posted from main Chang Puak Rd, I found Resort quickly & was promptly welcomed with big smiles & Great hospitality! If you want quiet location, great service & unbeatable inexpensive luxury Lanna Boutique Resort is perfect! I was so delighted within my first hour, I booked another 2 nights!
Friendly service and comfortable, clean rooms”
Having stayed in Thailand for over a month, my husband and I have experienced a variety of hotels and guesthouses thus far. Lanna Boutique has been one of the friendliest and cleanest hotels. Only disappointment was that the pool is right in the center of the hotel right by where guests check and exposed to whoever is working and sitting in the vicinity and also shaded by the building which made it too cool for me even in warm weather. Missed breakfast but they offered to order food for us but ended up going to a local restaurant a block up the street that you pass turning in (local Thai joint but with English menu) that had delicious food for about 30 baht a meal. Since the hotel is located farther out from the old city you get a feel for the real Thailand with an awesome market just up the street that other's might look over. Also would have loved more time to get a massage at the hotel and not have to go more than a few feet back to my bed! Next time!
Great place to start”
Normally I use Airbnb while traveling to reduce costs and meet hosts. I tried that twice in Chiang Mai with bad experiences. So I decided to try hotels since they were the same price. Much better experience! I love that this is on a quiet out of the way street where you don't hear the hustle and bustle of city life and traffic. I loved the pool, chairs and sound of the pool waterfall. It felt very peaceful here and the room was good. Next time I stay here though I would rent a biycle during my stay it's not "far" from old town but it's not a pleasant or short walk either. A pedal bike would be perfect I think and only cost $1-$2 per day depending in where you get one. There are places to eat nearby and an internet cafe. Siwattani (sp?) market is also nearby which has food stalls and cheap clothes n such. Easy walking distance. Definitely try the Ab Petite Cafe nearby amazing salads for only $3 and good spaghetti also 95baht each.
An oasis in the city”
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. First of all, the staff were very friendly and they knew their customers very well. They were attentive and helpful at all times. The beauty about this hotel is the swimming pool in the centre of the hotel and it is open 24 hours. The hotel is away from the city centre, however, the public transport and tuk tuks are easily available from the main road. The rooms are spacious and each room is individually decorated. The hotel is fast expanding and there is a whole new block adjacent to the main hotel. All tours of Chiang mai are available from the hotel it self. There is a whole shopping area and restaurants next to the hotel.
Wonderful friendly staff, clean rooms bedding”
Loved the Lanna Boutique resort, great value for money, will be staying there again. Highly recommended
Incredible value and great service”
Amazing views of the pool or the city. This is the best value resort style hotel I have stayed in for this money ever. Central location with very hospitable staff. Free wi-fi. Breakfast included, sauna, spa, pool & gym. Daily room service and very clean and tidy hotel. Incredible value for money in comparison to all others in Chiang Phuak area.
Beautiful hotel in a unique location.”
We stayed in Chiang Mai city, then moved here for a change of scenery, and we loved it! The hotel is very well equipped, clean, nice pool, and the staffs service was impeccable! Only con was the hard as a rock beds! Gym was not air conditioned, and the breakfast was ok.
lovely thai style hotel”
a nice hotel in chang phuak, large clean pool, good size rooms with tea making facility. transport needed to get to city, lovely staff
Good rooms, great service, but terrible location”
i was made to feel very welcome at this brand new boutique hotel, built onto an existing massage and sauna club which an expat claimed to be one of the best in chiang mai. i certainly had a fantastic thai massage, and this, coupled with the sauna, make staying here worthwhile in itself, but then my objective was just to kick back and relax for a few days. great service, with excellent english spoken by the two girls at reception, which is just as well because the owners don't speak any, though they're very friendly and accommodating. the night porter doesn't speak any english either, so get all your requests in before the girls go home at the end of the day. on the downside, the hotel is miles from anywhere, though it's only a short walk to the main road where you can flag down a taxi, or have them book one for you. my room was spacious and immaculately designed, but the mattress was like concrete, and the dire tv reception rendered it unwatchable. there was also an infestation of mosquitoes in there in the evenings, and it took quite a while to fumigate. the breakfast was limited and very disappointing too. despite these irritations, i would heartily recommend the hotel as a good spot for some r&r.
Awaken to bird song, relax in the pool or sauna”
About 7 minutes from the train station, plenty of drivers await you from the 14 hr night train, Lanna's was easy to find with the address written down, accepted us with smiles and an early check in with no extra charge, our room was upgraded, very spacious and overlooking the pool, quiet with bird song to wake up to instead of traffic, internet was good with ocassional 1/2 hour hickup when they adjusted passwords, close to Tiger Camp, butterfly / orchid farm, monkeys and whole list more, 5 minutes drive to city center to play around the temples and central market. Enjoy Chang Mai, We booked Lanna's for one night and stayed 4. Happy travels.
Great staff, Comfortable Room, Quiet Neighbourhood”
I had originally booked for only three days, but continued on for my remaining ten days in Chiang Mai. The attention the staff provided, the quiet environment, the large cool pool, and the comforts the room offered won me over.
Good value, comfortable stay”
Lanna boutique hotel Situated in a very quiet and pleasant suburban neighbourhood next to the university, a short ride into the walled city. Plenty of food stalls and small restaurants around, there is a big wet market with food court style food stalls in the morning. The pool area covers most of the ground floor, though the pool don't looked too clean. There is a spa and sauna for guests after 3pm. Breakfast next to the pool is vey relaxing and pleasant. The room is simply furnished with tv, minibar etc , our deluxe suite is in the wing across the lane, and has a balcony with the view of the city.
Ready to make your stay more enjoyable”
If you stay away from the very small rooms it is a great place to stay in Chiang Mai. A little distance from the night life but that didn't seem to be a problem in our daily excursions . Very helpful staff.
Dear Mr.Dave, Thank you so much for your review and chosen to staying with us. We hope you had a special holiday here in Chiang Mai. See you again on next time. Have a nice day. Best regards, Lanna Boutique Resort Team
Beautiful hotel with swimmingpool ”
We enjoyed staying at Lanna Boutique resort with our children. The swimmingpool was nice and big. The staff was very friendly but only a few spoke good english, which led to some misunderstandigs in the restaurant. The hotel was locatello 2 km north of the old city, so we had to take tuk tuks to get around. The gym was pretty poor. No fan or aircondition and old / cheap machines. When we got to the hotel the staff were not aware of our booking of a deluxe suite, so they first gave us a standard room. We finally got a deluxe suite, which was rather small. The new annex building was new, so the room did not have reading lights and the paint on the chairs was still wet. The extra bed was very hard.
Great hotel poor location.”
not sure who screwed up Agoda or the hotel because there was no room reserved however the staff were very apologetic and provided an upgrade without extra charge. The hotel in general and room was great, only the location in a somewhat run down residential area lets the place down. Can't really walk to anything, restaurants, Shops or attractions. The traffic in Chiang Mai is dreadful 4km in 90 mins!!!
A little north of old city. Out of busy tourist area. It has a rustic Lanna ambience with a good sauna and pool. Very close to Thanin market where a lot of good Thai food may be obtained at good prices.
Dear William, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. Your kind comments about our Resort, pool and sauna are much appreciated. Thank you. Lanna Boutique Hotel, Chiang Mai.
Family weekend in Chiang Mai.”
We were three adults and 6 teenagers for the Songkran Water Festival holiday in Chiang Mai. the streets get a bit crazy and the hotel was a comfortable haven. The pool is wonderful - half covered in the center of the courtyard- with various side pools. Good for kids and adults could swim laps as well. Somewhat older hotel, but renovated in bright, cheerful colors. It is tucked away a few blocks off the main street. Good for quiet, but a bit longer walk to the center of own. Easy access to red trucks and tuk-tuks on the main street. Basic western breakfast included.
Good location close to Tanin Market, a short tuk tuk distance away from Thapae Gate area. Quiet area, rooms good. Tanin market is a great locals market with adjacent area to eat a meal. Lanna Style building but like many wooden buildings in Thailand, needs to have constant upkeep of wood to maintain standard & design.
Dear Mr.Philip , Thank you so much for your review and chosen to staying with us. We hope you had a special holiday here in Chiang Mai. See you again on next time. Have a nice day. Best regards, Lanna Boutique Resort Team
Affordable, clean & comfortable”
We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time. Rooms are clean and comfortable, daily cleaning & change of towels. We also enjoyed the pool but please avoid the sauna ( old and scary with termites ).
The staff were very helpful and I quite liked the walk into town. One of the lovely features of this hotel are the gardens that have something of a cultivated jungle aspect to them that deliver privacy and tranquility. The swimming pool is very nice too. I thought the room nice and large and comfortably furnished but the sound proofing was limited as you could hear your neighbour's. The area the hotel is in has some nice bars but wasn't great for restaurants in my opinion but as I say that didn't matter to me as the walk into town was pleasant and taxis or tut tuts would be cheap enough.
