Temples such as Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Chet Yot, Wat Ku Tao, Wat Phra Sing, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep are a good way to explore the history. Good value for the price”
This is the third time we have stayed at Lanna Palace. The price is right, rooms clean, has everything we like in a room -safe, hot water kettle, free Wifi in the room, etc. The breafast could used an upgrade, but for the price -- it's fine. Staff is friendly, helpful and English is good. We'll stay there again.
Great location. Good wifi. Clean. ”
great location. good wifi. clean. a bit oldish. but good value for money. 5 minutes walk from night bazaar. very calm environment. hotel stuff very friendley and check in and out was so smooth. no cash deposit needed. if u look for luxury look somewhere else but fit the price u pay and the location it's perfect. chiang mai city and the tours around are amazing i would recommend a very good local tour guide that will take u wherever u want to go for a very good price and amazing service. what we manage to see and do in two days with him we couldn't do with all group tours.
Value for the money”
I've been in Lanna Palace for few occassions, conference and this time, a last minute switch to this hotel. I can say it is very much value for the money! The staffs are friendly and helpful. The restaurant provides good buffet lunch with the price you can not imagine! It takes fifteen minutes walk to the night marker or costs you 50-60 bahts bu tuk-tuk. Swimming pool is not well maintained and needed improvement. We stayed in the corner room and with both side windows with spectacular view to the mountains and the other side to the city. We absolutely enjoyed our one-day stay in this hotel. Improvement can be done to the channels of TV as well as the wifi in room!
Lanna Palace Hotel”
Lanna Palace hotel, is quite good by location, not very near to the night bazaar but walkable distance. Many dining outlets near by. The rooms was quite big and not bad but not so new. All in all, it was a nice stay
walk anywhere quickly”
Lanna is located with very easy walk access to the major areas of Chiang Mai. 5 minutes to Night Market, 15 minutes to the moat and things to see along the way. Restaurants every where,,,more booze than you drank in the last 20 years.
Hotel at economical rates with spacious rooms”
Good service. We checked in at 10:00 a.m. and the staff was courteous to provide us the room with good views of the streets below. Although the hotel is old, they have maintained the cleanliness thoroughly. The room was clean and spacious with necessary amenities provided. Some of the equipment or furniture in the room was outdated or used over a long period of time, but one shouldn't complain given their low prices. The hotel staff informed us that all their rooms are non-smoking which is a boon for us non-smokers. You can smoke in the outdoor parking area though. Book on line to enjoy their special rates.
Great room although walls a bit thin! Helpful staff and friendly and welcoming! Pity there is not a restaurant for evening meals! Not in a great part of Chiang Mai but convenient for what we were doing. Very clean and easy to keep room cool. A treat in having a bath! The swimming pool is very strange being on the second floor and surrounded by traffic noise! A first for me!
Decent Hotel on the Outskirts of City Center”
Overall the hotel was a good value. It's about a km from night bazaar and other city attractions, so plan on tuk-tuk or motorbike rental to get around - that was the only real downside; we normally stay right near the market - Centara, Surigwan, etc. but they were all fully booked. The hotel was in fairly good shape considering it had some age to it. Our room was clean and did not have any of the typical Thai smells that you can find in some of the other old high rise hotels in the City. Breakfast was decent, but not outstanding. As minor as it may seem, the water pressure and temperature in the shower were awesome! Everything in the room worked properly, including good A/C and the WiFi reception was reliable. Price was respectable. mid-7s on the rating is about right. Would stay here again. No real highlights on staff performance come to mind - except to say that the parking lot attendant runs a real tight ship and took good care of our auto!
Very clean hotel”
Very nice and clean hotel. It is very close to the markets and the rates are good for the service. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a good view of the mountains from the room. The in room service was quite good and reasonably priced. We just hired the Tuk Tuk to go to the markets and the local clothing shop.It is centrally located. There is a massage place just outside the hotel which was very cheap after a long day walking, a good massage was at the doorstep.
Good Place to be”
I wassn't expected that hotel with such room rate and price will be so tidy and clean even not as 5 star hotel standard, breakfast is cns for me even you can find many standard varities but look like need some lady touch. location is wasn't as i needed to be very close to night bazzar its liitle bit far and its about 1 kilo meter away from the hotel. at all the hotel is good plce to saty in with nice facilities and clean room.
Not what I booked”
On arrival I was given a twin room though I ordered a double bed, my request had been previously confirmed. The receptionist told me that there were no other rooms left. I showed her the confirmation from the hotel and was told this came from AGODA., however the name on the email was of the room manager of the hotel. When I pointed this out to her she was not pleased and told me to wait!! About ten minutes later she came back and I was given the requested room. I asked about breakfast which was available for THB270, I declined as there are café's around which serve a full BF from THB 80 -100 Baht. Overall the stay was pleasant and I will return.
While we there as there were not enough customers we only enjoyed 2 mornings buffett bfast. The buffett bfast were good my friend n myself enjoyed the bfast. Overall the location n service n standard of the hotel were good. Not only I will recommend my friend to patronise this hotel myself will definitely come back to stay at this hotel again. This time I will book direct with the hotel instead going through Agoda.
Clean and quiet”
During my stay at this hotel, I had an interview with an airline. This was a good location, but out of reach for the city of Chiang Mai. I had to take a tuk tuk to the town. But the service of this hotel was good, clean and reasonably well maintained. I would recommend to stay here if you like to be in a quiet location rather than in the city, but if you like the nightlife, then this isn't for you.
Great location but needs to be renovated”
+Good location, convenient stores, night market and city centre in walking distance +Breakfast was decent for price +Staffs were friendly +Hotel was clean -Wifi was horrible, almost non existent -There was cooler and no AC -No proper lighting -Room was outdated, furnitures look very old and lamps and kettle had scary wires
Very nice hotel for the price U pay”
Good location We could get 2 rooms with connecting door for our kids ,all together cheaper than any other room around Pretty old hotel Old shower, but fair for the price
The location of Lana Palace is about 10-15 minutes walk to the the outer night market. During Songkran it was quite nice not to be staying right in the old city. The staff were very friendly, however, the hotel was icey cold in the bar and restaurant areas and the rest of the hotel including the rooms were very plain and a bit shabby. You could have been in a cheap hotel in London as easily as a hotel in Thailand - no character at all. Would prefer to stay somewhere a little more interesting.
Not satisfied at all”
We as a group of 12 we very dissapointed in the Hotel. On our arrival we found the staff very helpful and friendly, but also found the carpets in the lift very filthy, the carpets on the 5th floor very filthy. Some of the rooms the sheets had dirt marks on them and the bathrooms were not clean. I spoke to the manager and she emmediatly moved us to beter rooms. Also the breakfast was very very poor. Cold eggs every morning dirty tablecloths and the coffie undrinkable. I think the hotel owners will have to do something drasticly to improve this hotel. I will not stay there again. Sorry Lanna Palace 2004 Hotel but you are not uo to standard
my 3rd stay at Lanna Palace - no problems again.”
This was my 3rd stay at Lanna Palace and there were no problems at all again.
LANA Palace Hotel in Chiang Mai ”
The location of the hotel is in the main street, walking distance to te night market and the Jewish Beit Chabad. The personel are very kind and helpful. The rooms are big and comfortable. We got rooms with conneting door, which is an important issue for a family with kids. The swimming pool is small but sufficient. This hotel is recommended.
An ideal location with all areas around. ”
the staff of the hotel was very cooperative and were helpful to the foreigners.the free bus service to the night market is an added advantage.the hotel location is such from where all the requirements like shopping, nightlife, night market and varied kind of restaurants are in the vicinity.live music in the dining hall during evenings is one which every body enjoys.
