An amazing relaxing stay!”
We really enjoyed our stay at Maikeaw Bungalow. We came to Ko Lanta to relax and rest and that is what we did! The location in the jungle is nice and quiet, but with a motorbike you're at the beach in 5 minutes only. It's really easy and cheap to rent a motorbike at Maikeaw Bungalow. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. They really make you feel at home and they can prepare you really nice meals in their restaurant. We would definitely recommend this place and hopefully we will come back in the near future! P.S. In another review people wrote about animals in the bungalow. Apart from some mosquito's we didn't have animals in our bungalow and there's a mosquito net available in the bungalows, so we didn't have any animal problem at all!

Lanta Maikeaw Bungalow is a very beautiful and peaceful place to recover from the chaotic touristic atmosphere. The rainforest is amazing, there are caves and waterfalls. Magical places of almost untouched nature. Amazingly refreshing air from the forest even on very hot days. Great for hiking and swimming on wild beaches on the south part of the island. It's there where you get the magical expirience of real Thailand. I met amazing people there and even learned a bit of the Thai language. It was the highlight of my journey and I'll definitely come again.

The perfect getaway place to relax!”
I just fell in love with this place!!!! My first time ever to sleep in a real bungalow of bamboo and I loved it. Instantly I felt so comfortable and welcome with Adda and her family. Everything is so beautiful here, all the personal are really nice and warm people who give good energy and make you feel like a family member. The place is so nice in the peaceful nature and during nights you can listen living nature. This was a perfect place for me to relax and think during my 2 weeks stay in Maikeaw Bungalow. Thank you Adda! You are like my sister now and I will miss eating your special curries to me and sitting with you in the evenings at the restaurant speaking about everything. Hello to all the family and see you again!!

gorgeous atmosphere in the woods near the caves”
myself and my older daughter had a wonderful stay there in the huts. Etta was a lovely hostess and always was ready to help and feed us-especially breakfast. we booked a bOAT trip with her to the emerald cave. it was amazing and has a beautiful little secret-i wont ruin it for you. we had a wonderful week in koh lanta. its an amazing little island and although i wanted to stay at the beach the woods was a gorgeous alternative. thank you to Etta our sweet hostess

Wonderful, lovely place & team!!!”
We were absolutely overwhelmed by the time we arrived. It wasn't too easy to find as it's a 30 min. walk from Klong Nin centre. But for nature lovers it's just awesome: Cute, little basic bamboo huts, nicest and friendliest staff who are helpful wherever possible and as special feature there are lots of cute cats and two finny monkeys living there as well :) you can have cheap and good basic food (even though due to language problems sometimes you might not get what you ordered) and rent motorbikes which is really helpful to discover the wonderful island. Finally just down the road is a cave which is absolutely worth seeing! Please go here for the cheap, basic, lovely and authentic stay!!!

Great stay which we kept extending ”
The location is a but far from the main area, but that makes it very relaxing! You hear the birds when your on the veranda. You need a scooter anyway to explore all Lantas beautiful beaches. Staff is amazing and very helpful! They make you feel very welcome and cook delicious food! Nice atmosphere and easily to meet other travelers :)

It might be for someone a minus, that bungalows are located away from centre, but if someone wants to have peace and quiet in rubber tree forrest, then choosing these bungalows is a great option. Of course you can rent a bicycle or motorcycle if you need. And the food! For sure try the food! Very tasty, big portions, very nice price and smiley owners cooking with love. Oh yeah and there are cats, lot of them (I guess 24), so if you are not a cat person or allergic, then consider this fact.

Eda was the perfect hottest; funny, welcoming, just a lovely person. The tranquility of this place is lovely, but it is quite far from Nin beach so scooters are a must. Bungalow was very clean and the setting well maintained. Highly recommend

Immensely enjoyable and very cheap. You'll have to rent a motorbike to get to khlong nin but they rent them on site too. Most helpful in booking trips, boats etc. will be back!

If you want an authentic natural Thai island living this is the bungalow to stay in. Has everything you need to find some peace and nature. Felt welcomed by the family who run this place and the food was delicious too. Actually one of the best places I've stayed in Thailand!

Peace in the Jungle!”
I loved the stay here. I actually hadn't done my research before booking & didn't realise it was inland, yet upon arrival it felt peaceful & serene & was amazing to be near the 'island jungle'. It was an great escape from the roads! The staff were lovely - super helpful & chatty. Bungalows were very cosy & I loved sleeping with the sounds of nature! A great place to stay.

Good value for money”
The staff was super friendly. The hotel is up in the mountains and u will need a bike to get around. It is about 7 min to nearest shops and to the beach. The beach is lovely. The hotel doesn't have a bar and does not sell alcohol, but if u want somewhere to relax this is the best.

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights. We had a lovely stay, you are around nature in the woods when you stay here. I will say it is quite far to walk to the beach, this accommodation is best suited to people who are comfortable renting a motorbike

Basic bamboo huts in forest with great staff! ”
The bamboo huts were very basic but well worth the price. They were clean and the bed was allright. The staff was very friendly and booked a four island tour and minivan to our next destination for us for good prices. The food was good and cheap. Be aware that there are a lot of animals there. Each night we had a new frog in our hut (which the staff always helped removing the minute we told them) and a lot of spiders too.

Terrible”
We are teachers and we travel with two 5 year old children for 3 months in South East Asia. In all this time we had never had such a bad experience in any accommodation. We had booked a triple room with a kitchen at the Lanta Maikeaw and on arrival we were given a much smaller, dirty bungalow with cracks where all sorts of bugs could get in. The owner had a booking message with confirmation of the most basic bungalow. We had a confirmation from Agoda with the upper bungalow. But what was really disappointing was the owner's attitude. She completely ignored the problem, as the triple room was occupied by another family. We proposed her to change the second night to a superior room and also compensate for the night we would spend in the more basic bungalow. She replied that she was sleeping and that we could but pay much more. Pitiful. Right in front of us and on the same road there are new, air-conditioned, clean bungalows for the same price or a little more. Obviously we didn't spend

Best place we've stayed in Thailand”
This is a family owned place, and the owners are so so friendly and super super helpful!! We stayed in the delux room, and it was really nice! Wouldn't have thought we're basically in the jungle!! Originally meant to stay for a week, but we ended up staying longer because we loved it so much!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!

nice family run place... Basic but good value”
We enjoyed our stay here, lovely family who run this place who are very welcoming! It has great food from the on site restaurant also. Very basic accommodation but also very cheap price. if you don't mind bugs and are on a backpackers budget it's the perfect place to stay.

let's not get carried away. what a pack of lies.”
1) the food. 2) finding somewhere else to stay after one night. 3) meeting other 'guests' who were doing the same thing. 1) these are not bungalows. they're tiny bamboo huts, with no space, no windows and no amenities. i have a garden shed, with lean-to toilet that is better equipped. there is an open roof space, with a gap big enough for a small eagle to fly through, let alone the thousands of bugs determined to batter themselves to death against the light bulb above the 'bed' 2) no furniture. no chair, table, cupboard, wardrobe or hooks to hang dry or damp clothes. no bed, only a mattress on the floor, crawling with ants and bugs. 3) bathroom. 3 steep steps down into a concrete pit, with unfinished concrete walls and not a tile in sight. a cold water shower, toilet, but no sink! how do you brush teeth, get a shave, or wash hands without a sink? 4) location. 3 km from the nearest point in klong nin. up the road crossing from west to east and down a dark, unmarked side road. nowhere near that shown on the agoda map. the huts are built into a rubber plantation and the smell of rubber isn't pleasant. 5) restaurant. the only nice thing, but no alcohol. there are no shops nearby, only 3km into town. 6) reviews. very suspicious that the later 3 reviews are all done by a 'person' with the same name. only the latest (agnieszka) is truthful. 7) description. a) designed for business - how do you do this with no desk or wifi? b) ideally situated. see 4) c) easy access from airport - it's 4-5 hours away and needs 2 ferries. d) numerous on-site facilities - swimming pool? - bar? - none. i've reported my complaints to agoda d
