Ni and Pla from the front desk was very accommodating. I just forgot the name of one front desk attendant who do not have much customer service skill as that of Ni and Pla. Location is good for lounging if you are looking forward to just relax and do nothing. Staff cleans the room every day.
Room Service and Clean”
I visited Koh Lanta for 2 days and Lanta Palace was my hotel choice to stay and everything is good except that the 2nd day of course i expected that the room service will clean the room and change the towels and the normal things as provide new water and coffee, i went out about 11 am and back at 6pm and nothing change in the room and none even get inside and when i talked to the reception they said we were too busy and having a lot of check in, so i had to drink the 2 small bottles and they charge us when we check out and when we said we didn't have room service last day so we had to use the bottles and we got the same reaction and still charge us.
Perfect secluded getaway”
We were very pleased with this resort and though we only booked one day at a time, we ended up staying almost 6 days. Renting a bike was no problem and only 200 baht per day. The price of food and drinks at the resturante were very competitive. We had a good time with the monkeys and cats that resided here. The view from the pool is the best pool view we have had in Thailand. The gym is in disrepair but there is enough to get a good work out in when improvised. During the offseason the beach view rooms can not see the beach due to the green netting put up to maintain the beach line, but this is the same at any of the 3star or less resorts in Koh Lanta in the offseason from what I can tell. All in all, a wonderful getaway from the tourist traps and busy strips in the other south thailand travel spots.
Very old rooms , dirty , rude staff , poor breakfast ”
When we arrived we were shocked to see the pool was brown , we were told it would be fixed that day , the next day it was still brown and nobody could go in . The staff at breakfast are so rude , the food was very poor . We asked for a hot egg as the staff had cooked them and left them out so were cold , instead of making a fresh one she took a cold one and heated it up , she seemed annoyed we asked for a fresh egg . The bedrooms were dirty , hairs in bed from previous guests , and ants everywhere . We complained to reception that our rooms were awful , so was the service , and that we had paid for a pool and couldn’t use it . We left the hotel 4 days earlier than we had planned as we could not stay there !
A perfect beach front resort, with private beach and entertaining reggae bar. The private beach is really good, absolutely uncrowded beach where you can be by yourself, lots of chairs you can sleep on, a few indoor , outdoor games, good pool, looking right at the beach, this place offers everything one needs. The sunset from here is absolutely romantic. The food is good too and reasonable too. The room service and cleanliness were good, waiters were responsive, breakfast was fine. The only negative is you can't find anything to eat late in the night, but just cross the road and there's couple of places almost 1/2 the price for larger portion ;), the service hours are absolutely cool. They have multiple options of many packages here to go around, they rent out cars and bikes too. Look nowhere when you're here.
Very Pleasant Stay. Excellent Location.”
We enjoyed two weeks at Lanta Palace. The housekeeping staff were exceptional. The pool is delightful (when it's not green) and beach access perfect. We were in a beach front bungalow, which was just right. Local restaurants were wonderful. Hotel breakfast was sadly lacking in variety and content. Recommend hiring scooter as we did to see more of island.
Avoid. Much nicer hotels in the area and rude staff ”
Wasn't impressed with our stay here at all. we arived and went into the resturant as we were both hungry. my beefburger was well ok, not what I would call nice. and my partner ordered a mixed meat pizza that stated chicken and beef on the description. when it came it had tuna on it and as he is allergic to tuna couldn't eat it and we said it has tuna to the staff. cut a long story short they wouldn't change and it and was denying it was tuna saying it was meat cut up. clearly think we don't have taste buds and are stupid. then we had a bad storm while there the bungalow we were in started to leak all over the bed from the roof. the tiled floor was a massive puddle even with towels down to soak it up. went to reception to ask them to put us in a different room as the roof was leaking all over the bed and one of the staff said push the bed over (impossible. rooms to small) and the other said we are fully booked. eventually after demanding my money back for the next 2 nights saying I would find another hotel down the road as there are plenty for the same price they magically found a spare bungalow. will never stay here again and all I can say is I am glad I only booked 2 nights and not longer.
It could have been good if we stayed at one of the Bungalows facing the ocean. Unfortunately we got a room infested with mosquitos and ants. The „daily cleanse of the room“ consisted of making the beds and not even changing the sheets. The food was okay but the buffet was full of insects which was kind of a turn-off. The bathroom smelled like sewage. And finally there were two cats chained up in front of the stair case who never got to walk around because the leash was so short. I can’t recommend this hotel.
Pros. Great location with swimming pool on the beach. The beach is shared with a much more expensive resort. Friendly beach bar with sunset happy hour. Reasonable buffet breakfast. The beach is nice and quiet with not too many people. Easy motorbike rental but check the tyres because many have bald back tyres. Old TVs but more English channels than our much more expensive hotel in Ao Nang. Clean comfortable bedding and ok air con. We had a garden bungalow in Row 3 Cons. Very disappointed with the look of the room on arrival. We prepaid 2,200 baht per night for 7 nights. I wished I had only booked 2 then we could have left to somewhere better. The whole hotel is rather ramshackle and lacking in general maintenance. The swimming pool is not clean luckily the sea is nearby. There is no obvious manager or owner and the poor staff just do the best they can. It has the potential to be a fabulous place. We did enjoy our stay but I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it.
Palace Resort, really?? Run down place ,really in need of maintenance and upgrading.”
Don't let the name fool you! It is certainly not a palace. Booked a 'superior' room which was on the 2nd floor. Balcony with view on a dump. The curtains in the room were covered in stains and you might as well leave them open because closed, they still let daylight shine through, not a problem if you want an early wake up every day at 5.30 a.m Double bed was actually two single beds put together, matress was so hard, I used the duvet cover as second matress in order not to feel the springs piercing my back. Bathroom: shower has cold and hot water , sink has cold water only. There's no way to quietly shut the door to the hallway as you need to slam it in order to lock the door, so you'll hear a lot of neighbours slamming their doors too. Pool: has a nice pool with chairs and unmbrella's, but always taken already early before breakfast. There are no beds on the beach in front of the hotel, the photos on the website are deceiving. As the bottom of the sea here can be quite rocky you need to be careful not to injure your foot as I did stepping on some sharp stone or anything. However the doctor's office/medical emergency is a 5 min walk from the hotel with absolutely caring and friendly staff. On this same main street you will find various restaurants where we had some lovely thai food. There's also a bakery right on the left coming from the alley where Lanta Palace is situated, yummy cakes and good coffee!! Rented a scooter at the travel agency on the main street outside hotel for 200 baht per day ,two days to explore other beaches such as Bamboo Bay in the south , 15-20 mins by scooter. All and all, this part of Koh Lanta is good if you're looking for a quiet place at the beach, no nightlife, no bars , only a few restaurants that serve food until late.
Good hotel with a beautiful private beach ”
Stayed here for 4 nights in February 2017. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a beautiful piece of quiet beach in southern Koh Lanta. They have an awesome bar with a great happy hour from 4-7pm. Excellent breakfast in the morning, and the TV had over 60 channels with a wide variety of languages. The hotel also provided taxis (in a real car, not a dusty tuk-tuk) at a very fair and reasonable price, if you wanted to explore other parts of the island but are not comfortable on a motorbike.
Beautiful location, perhaps the best seafood ”
Great place. Perfect location. No need to eat outside, we have tried several other restaurants, it turned out the resort kitchen is good enough. Only minus, there are a lot of ants, you can't blame the resort, it's the nature. However if you expect a bug free resort, maybe need to pay higher for 4-5 star resorts.
We Love to stay at The Lanta Palace ☀️☀️☀️🌴🌴☀️☀️”

Relaxing beach holidays in a quiet environment”
The area of Klong Tob has very nice beaches and provides a sound choice of restaurants with extremely fresh and good seafood. Klong Tob is a few miles away from the island's center and, hence, pretty quiet. My first contact with the hotel was not nice as I was confronted with a quite rude receptionist. Anyway, the room was ok. Not perfectly clean but acceptable. Breakfast was alright. I can suggest having lunch or dinner at the hotel’s restaurant as the Thai food was really good there. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Scooter rental was easy and the reception was helpful with transfer and trip bookings. The hotel has its own private beach area but the beach was dirty and there were heaps of rocks too. I hardly stayed at the hotel beach and used to go to another one nearby. Overall, Ko Lanta is awesome and the stay at the hotel was okay. Maybe though, if a local situated and perfectly clean hotel is your prerequisite, you ought to choose another one.
A Seaside Orchid-filled Beauty ”
We stayed in one of the upper superior rooms; it was a great size, complete with balcony to sun and hang clothes to dry on. Hotel provides great services like motorbike rental ($6 for 24 hours!), in addition to various activities around the island (although we just booked them ourselves for MUCH cheaper). Staff were very helpful & friendly, location was pristine on a beautiful white sand beach with crystal blue waters. Included breakfast was surprisngly delicious and had a large selection of items.
the lanta palace resort: pros: very good food (breakfast incl. and also very good); staff is very nice (well, thais are in general nice people); they charge for internet a few bhat, but wifi is complementary, fast, and reception good. pool is very nice & clean
Lovely hotel set in tropical surroundings”
I stayed in a room in the main building. Room was neat and clean with a neat bathroom. The hotel restaurant served good dinner meals. Lots of mosquitos in the area. For day trips by speedboat you get collected right on the beach in front of the hotel.
Warning: construction site!”
The only positive is that the room was big. There was around 20 construction workers and 3 guests staying here. At the restaurant they were using varnish and paint stripper at breakfast time. The place was really shabby and down a little alley. Would not recommend to anyone
Lanta Palace: friendly, but sleepy”
My room was really nice. I stayed in the hotel part, not in a bungalow. The room was large with a balcony. Older bathroom fixtures, but well maintained. Free bottled water every day, and a decently priced mini-bar full of drinks. When I got tired of the beach, I booked a kayaking trip around the island and a day trip to another island through the front desk. I feel like I got a fair price and some really good day trips. As a traveler on my own, I should have stayed on the Long Beach, where there were more restaurants and bars, etc. The Lanta Palace was a little too secluded for me. There were many families there who were loving it, but I felt a bit isolated, especially after dark. This is a great spot for couples and families, not so much for solo travelers.
A Palace ?”
Hotel is good value for moneyIt is a little isolated, but is ideal to use as a base to tour the island. There is a nice swimming pool and the staff are very helpful.Five star it definitely is not,but it definitely is good value for what you pay
