About this property

With the cliffs in the background and the beach within walking distance, the area in which Lanta Resort sits is a national park. It takes a little over two hours to get to Lanta, including two ferry rides. Water sports are the main activity of the island, and scuba diving and snorkeling produce rich rewards with tropical fish and colorful coral. The town center of Saladan is within walking distance and is filled with shops, dining, and entertainment venues. The best way to explore the island and its 500-year-old gypsy population is either on a bicycle or on foot. After the swimming and sightseeing, the restaurant is a good place to relax, offering good Thai and western food with a nice garden where you can walk off your delicious meal. All things considered, Lanta Resort is excellently located, well-appointed, and reasonably priced.

'Hot & uncomfortable dining'
This was our 2nd visit and would definitely go again... Located right in the beach, no beds allowed but the resort provides beach Mars & towels with plenty of shade to be had if you want it under the trees... Only 1 negative and it's a personal thing.... The breakfast/dining room is beautiful, food plentiful but they will not for some reason put the air conditioning on ... It is a hot time of year and we go for the sun but eating in such high temperatures and not being able to have air conditioning turned in made meal times very uncomfortable 😳

The bathroom smelt of sewage and the shower seemed to only have cold water. But the pools are beautiful and it is located at the end of Long Beach so it is a nice, quiet area. I would probably stay there again.

Beautiful spot!
Staff, rooms and location all get 5 out of 5 stars!
Wonderful stay overall. Small things were the food and drinks were a bit cheap feeling. ie: "Juices" were just tang/powdered and a small portion of the resort was a bit run down. As I said, small things. Very pleasent stay! Would recommend!!

It's on Long Beach, the rooms are clean but very commercial feeling, there was one staff member at the beach bar that was very friendly and provided great service.
Overall the stay was pleasant. The beach frontage of the hotel is extremely dirty and poorly maintained. Broken water features with putrid standing water, not to mention trash and cigarette butts everywhere definitely diminish the feel of this resort. I would not stay here again nor recommend this hotel until these issues are addressed. The staff seemed overworked and demotivated. The ownership and management are accountable for this situation which desperately needs attention.

Breakfasts, location & pool facility
A great stay , service excellent, breakfasts plentiful and a beautiful location close to the Saladan area. The walk to the beach and back quite far in the December heat. The wi- fi functional but the internet speed almost useless unfortunately. The staff very pleasant and helpful although the language barrier was a problem with a few of the reception staff. Both pool areas great . The entrance area rather neglected and shabby ( from the road to reception)and would improve first impressions greatly if this could be upgraded a bit? I would rate The Lanta resort possibly a 3 star , but certainly nearly worthy of 4 star rating. We were very comfortable for our 3 might stay but felt a bit isolated in the rooms we were in at the back - we didn't realize we weren't part of the hotel set up . Overall a great 3 night stay.

Great staff, abysmal food, worse beer
Great overall layout, well thought-out, wish we were given the room we had booked
I noted a comment before booking that "The staff were unhelpful". I completely refute that allegation, bright, cheerful, helpful...a shame the staff were the BEST thing about the place! Room was clean...enough, grounds weren't - for example every rubbish bin I saw was overflowing with a small pile of rubbish around the base where everyone was trying to put their empties AS CLOSE TO THE BIN as possible...impossible to put anything IN it!! Ponds / pools / water features all non-functional (swimming pool okay), and up - close it became obvious general maintenance standards were poor. The walls didn't need a coat of paint, just a wash! #1 Problem...and #2, #3 etc... Food & Beverage manager desperately needs replacing. TERRIBLE!! I've eaten more exciting Thai food from my local Chinese restaurant in the UK. Bland...? Let's just say eating soggy grey cardboard would have been more exciting!! Beer: Heineken in bottles or Singha in cans. Obviously they don't want to sell much!! Wine list was limited & overpriced too. Dirty kitchen? Can't be sure, but after living in Thailand for 15 years I rarely get a case of "Thai Tummy"...on this occasion both myself & my Thai wife were trotting to the toilet all night. We most certainly did NOT risk eating breakfast - the local 7/11's food MUCH safer to eat...and tastier...!! We will not be returning. Staff were fighting an uphill battle with either poor management or uncaring owner. I can only sympathise.
