The best experience!”
Our plan was to stay in Thailand for a month - to train as a family (as novices) in Muay Thai and to continue working. I found out about Lanta Sport Resort and the adjoining Lanta Muay Thai academy through Kohub.org which is a co-working space a few mins up the road from the resort. We had worked from there a few years earlier and I was trying to find suitable accommodation with Muay thai training nearby. Lanta Sport Resort was perfect. We booked an apartment with a kitchen - finding accommodation that not only has 2 bedrooms but a kitchen is not easy on Koh Lanta. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The staff were all lovely and the whole place has a real family feel, we felt immediately settled. We trained daily (I did 1-2-1 lessons 7-8am each day, whilst my husband did the group sessions 8-9.30am) I then benefited from group exercise classes with both Slava and Tom 3-4pm each day whilst the kids had their group Muay Thai class. We didn't want to leave!

A suite for that price? Yes, please.”
Let me preface this by saying that we went in low season and got an AH-mazing deal on the room. A one bedroom suite with pool access for less than 700 baht per night (including taxes). There is no way we could have passed that up. The hotel staff were wonderful. My friend forgot her toothbrush and asked if the hotel had any. They actually went out and BOUGHT toothbrushes. Also, they rented a bike to us for less than the posted price (and didn't even charge us for the second day's rental). The infinity pool as absolutely amazing. It was great to come back from the beach or a boat trip and just rinse under the outdoor shower and jump right in for a quick dip. The bed was quite comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too firm. We ended up using the throw pillows instead, as they were much less thick. The internet doesn't really reach into the bedroom, so we would have to sit in the living room if we wanted to connect to it. And the location is a bit... inconvenient? The driveway itself isn't far from most things, but it is a loooong, trenched, rocky, dirt driveway. The van dropped us on the main road and then we had to walk the driveway with our bags in the dead heat. And you can't really see the hotel from the driveway until you come around a corner. We weren't 100% sure we were on the right road... Unless you want to always be a hot, sweaty mess everytime you leave and return to the hotel, a motorbike rental is necessary. The posted price is 250 per day. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is a 1,000 baht deposit. I wish hotels would start putting this in the listing, because that's a lot of vacation money to hand over and not get back until the END of the vacation. However, all in all, it was a wonderful find and I am very happy we chose to stay at Lanta Sport Resort. If they have deals like this again, I would definitely stay here in the future. Great staff, wonderful pool, amazing room, mediocre wifi, long, dusty driveway.

Excellent - Best hotel in Thailand”
After spending 20 days around Thailand, it has been a real pleasure to stay at the Koh Lanta Sport Resort. i stayed in a pool access room, spotless and very very comfy room. All you need to feel at ease ! Breakfast choice is great, very yummy, staff is amazing ! Joy is the kindesr front office manager I came across to in Thailand, always there to make my stay wonderful, I felt home while staying there. The pool is amazing. I cannot understand the bad reviews below... I give a Big 10 out of 10 to this Resort ! Thanks for everything, expect me back !!!

This was my first time in Thailand and as a female traveling solo this resort made it comfortable and easy. The staff is very nice. The property has a great location, especially if wishing to train in Muay Thai. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The manager was great at helping to set up Muay Thai and airport transfers. I definitely plan to go back to Koh Lanta and hope to stay here again.

Big suites, beautiful pool area”
Kinda col if you want to take a Thai boxing lesson too. The suites are very simple, but large and clean. The location is really not great... the road to the hotel is a small rocky clay road that is a bit scary in the dark, that comes off the very busy main road, but the walk is about 5-10 to the main road. Food at the resort was good. Beach was a good walk away, but if you are more of a pool person this resort is great. Very private.

If your fit and active and looking for a holiday with some fitness and training this resort is ideal. I purchased the budget gym room which comes with a free fitness or Muay Thai session. The room itself is basic but he air con is great the room is very large and the bed is super comfy. I was only meant to stay two days max here and I stayed for 6! The fitness team are incredible - Tom and nin run some fitness classes and are so lovely, they do a fitness challenge every Friday. Then there is another instructor Slava who is so friendly and will really help ou with form and technique. The Muay Thai training is great the guys will spend one on one time wih you in the group sessions and by your 3rd/4th time you’ll be well on your way! I’ve felt so welcomed here and so content and comfortable like a little community! But the place has lots of family’s, the owner spend time with everyone chatting and making sure everything is great and they have a roof top bar with great food! LOVE

Great pool but poor service”
The pool is the main attraction at Lanta Sport. The service was very poor though. Staff seemed untrained and check in was extremely slow. The rooms are often not serviced daily. They seem to sell all rooms as suites with pool access but this is untrue. Unless you fight the staff will try providing a room with pool view on a higher floor. The hotel is 400-500 m away from the main road at the end of Phra Ae village. It's about a 15 min walk to the main Long Beach and 10 mins walk to restaurants.

Good value for cheap price in off season would recommend for any backpackers but during the season dont think its worth it with high price. It could be cleaner and more comfortable than it is. You can hardly get any warm water from the shower and any kind of insects can get inside the room. The couple of the hotel is very nice and also the whole staff. I would say that this is totally worth it with 19e breakfast included. Good services including scooter rental. We had 2 times problems with the scooter but got a new one without payment. (Ofc. we didnt break anything).

The lady who we thought ran the resort was so helpful when we got out in a small room that was damp she changed us back to our old room which was so nice of her. You will need to rent a ped if you stay here as it’s a bit far from everything via foot. If you want to sleep in then it can get a little loud around 8am with the boxing going on but we enjoyed getting up early as it has a lovely pool :) Overall was

Helpful Staff - Great facilities”
When we arrived at the premises we had booked a room with possible sound from the gym - however our room was actually in the gym - a mattress on the ground with nothing else, it looked like the room was still under construction! After explaining to reception the hotel advertised safety box etc we were quickly changed room and upgraded to a room closer to the pool and restaurant. Very pretty rooms with comfortable beds. The pool was great, however my partner works remotely and the WiFi wouldn’t work great. We took a beginners Muay Thai class and it was brilliant! The hotel is not located very close to the beach, restaurants or bars - you would need to rent a scooter for 200B per day. There are yoga classes and other fitness classes available for guests!

We really enjoy our stay here and would definitely stay here again. However we very much feel that things could have been run a lot better. We loved the the swimming pool area and relaxing by the pool. The rooms were of good condition and the beds are so comfy. We really enjoyed having a lounge area attracted to the rooms making it a nice place to chill and relax on a comfy sofa. The organization and the running of the hotel is in serious need of being improved. On the first night we asked if 2 of the lights could be replaced, we were told that would be however it never did. The resturant staff and kitchen seemed to be at a complete losted and lacking direction. In fact the lovely friendly Thai staff were in really need of some direction no one appeared to be in charge. If we had any question we went to the reception where the most unfriendly and sometimes plain rude foreign woman would try her best to dismiss us as quickly as possible. We also felt that maybe during peek season they should have a buffet style breakfast rather than waiting around for ages for a plate of food. Overall it is a nice hotel with an excellent swimming pool pretty close to a nice beach and restaurants.

We stayed in the cheapest room at rhe ground floor. Was ok. But for longer stay I recomend whole appartment at higher floors. Owner very nice and helpful, super gym, pool and sporting activigies. Too far from the sea.

Great room for the price, OK location”
My boyfriend and I read great reviews about the place so we decided to check it out before fully booking. Location: From the pier it's about a 5 minute drive, it's a great location for that but its not convenient if you are wanting to walk around. To get to the hotel you have to go through a long dirt road, at night I wouldn't recommend walking there (safety reasons) try renting a motorbike from them instead. We also got hungry for a late dinner and found ourselves sort of stuck. This was around 9pm, we tried going to he front desk to ask for a taxi or some sort of ride to the closest restaurant but a receptionist was no where to be found. After 15 minutes we tried again and happen to cross paths with a Thai guest and they called us a car. We paid 200 baht for 2 people there and back, and we asked to go to the closet restaurant but the driver took us to one a little farther than we had hoped. And obviously we needed a ride the next morning to our next hotel and since we couldn't get another way of transportation we had to use the same driver provided by the hotel which cost us 150 baht.. One way. All in all the location is convenient for getting to the pier but really annoying when you wanna go elsewhere and you don't rent a bike. Room: I was initially looking at the room right by the pool so we asked to see it before hand, the room itself is wonderful. Very spacious. Very modern furniture and feel to the whole room. Our room had 2 tvs, one in the bedroom and one in the "living room". The bed was really comfy, shower was great, and separate room for the toilet too. The only thing I would recommend is fixing the door because when it shuts it seems to leave a little tiny gap and we found some mosquitos getting in sometimes. Food: We ordered breakfast and lunch from their kitchen. The breakfast is fixed at 200 baht. You can pay in the lobby and they will deliver it to your room. Clean hotel with friendly staff! At the time we went there wasn’t many guests as it was low season but the pool was clean & the beds were SO comfy!! It’s a shame you have to walk through a dirt track off the main road for quite a while to get to the hotel (if you are on foot) it’s very dark at night and there are lots of rocks (it was also heavily raining when we went). The hotel does motorbike rental which I recommend so you can see the whole island!

Great Stay”
We had an amazing first night on the Island staying at this hotel. I was really pleased to find such a peaceful place, that had such friendly staff. The only thing I could say wasn't the best was when we woke up from a nap there were ants all over the room, thankfully the staff came and cleaned it right away and we didn't have a problem after that. Getting to experience the thaiboxing was also a great added bonus to this place. I would highly recommend this place. They also have some of the comfiest beds I have slept on.
