Fantastic location close to town centre & the beach. Serge was so friendly & welcoming. ”
Walking distance to cafes, restaurants, bars & shops. Also short walk to beach. Serge was very friendly & helpful. Rooms were big with area to sit outside & enjoy a drink. All amenities provided even down to make up remover. Definitely recommend Lantern Retreat & we will stay again.
Relaxing, great owners, interesting, convenient”
The owners were very helpful the entire time we were there, making sure we had everything we needed. Nice decor throughout. Great paintings. Comfortable. On the downside the pillows were a bit thin and the bed a little saggy in our room. Peaceful location close to ocean and Dunsborough town Centre. Thanks for a quick but enjoyable stay.
"The best of old and new"”
We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of owners Serge and Sally, who went our of their way to make you feel at home, whilst also giving you your own space to do as you like. The rooms were lovely and spacious and we enjoyed spending time in them whilst being tucked centrally in such a good location, easy to venture out throughout the day. I love the touches like fresh flowers and reasonably priced mini bar/snacks but would love to see more beautiful home made soaps that the area is known for. This is always a nice touch.
Excellent bed and breakfast”
Very well located, quiet but only a short walk from the centre of town or the beach. Serge and Sally have been running this now for just over two years, they are excellent hosts and happy to point out dining locations in the area. Very spacious rooms, we stayed in the hibiscus. Well equipped, with thoughtful touches like sewing kit, makeup remover, etc. as well as fast wifi and docking station. Newly finished pool area with soon to be operating pizza oven. Great common room with port and chocolate, DVDs, etc. Decor is nice, albeit some too oldy worldly for our taste (crochet/ lace tissue box covers), but that would be our only point of criticism.
Lovely hotel and definitely service with a smile.”
the hotel was beautiful and cool! (we were in the middle of a heat wave). the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. we will definitely go back. our rooms were private, but we could sit out on the verandah and look at the lovely garden at any time.
Perfect B&B”
We came actually for one night and stayed longer at the end. The hosts are very charming and helpful. Our room was big, the bathroom even bigger. Breakfast was a delight. We certainly would stay here again.
J & J Toowoomba ”
Made very welcome by Serge. Breakfasts were excellent. Wonderful setting and felt really relaxed. One of the highlights on our stay in WA. We will be back!!
Quiet neighborhood ”
The house looked rundown but inside has very nice living area. The room fully equipped with heater, heated king-sized mattress pad, bath robes, five-stars toiletries, ironing board, hair dryer, etc. Ample parking space. Also, there’s a small swimming pool.
Very good”
Pillows need replacing and could do with net curtains on windows as we were in the front bedroom and people could see in the room, apart from that would stay again.
great value ”
very comfortable and friendly staff
Lovely cottage feel”
Thank you Serge👍. Nice and warm + delicious, yummy breakfast 😋👍😊
Great location, Great host, all the little extra's. ”
Lovely atmosphere.
Let down at the last hurdle”
Was a nice stay until morning of departure. No hot water. Called proprietor on phone which went to message bank. Clearly stated name and number and problem. No response and as was departing that morning, went without a shower. Upon return room key to host and questioning lack of water was provided with excuse, "I thought you were that gentleman. The pilot light had gone out. Everything is fine now." Automatic apology. Feeble response and no attempt to ameliorate the inconvenience. I suggest any futrure guest knock on the host's door to ensure problem is fixed and you receive an adequate response.
Warm and welcoming”
Well kept beautiful place, staff very friendly and helpful. They don’t do breakfast but it’s very close to local cafes We only stayed briefly but it felt homely which was great
