Poor maintenance, many better options in LB”
There are many better options in Luang Prabang. Convenient location if you want to be near the night market, but the rooms are VERY poorly maintained with wall paper peeling at every seem and mold and mildew all over the bathroom. Depressing florescent lighting. We had planned for multiple nights here but left after great disappointment. Also, be sure not to get a room located beneath the water pump on the roof, because it made terribly loud mechanical noises all night and kept us awake. There was no one at the front desk to address the issue all night. Chinese-speaking staff were barely helpful and difficult to communicate with.

Great location, value for money, 'Chinese charm'”
location, price
This is not the best or most beautiful/traditional hotel in town, but it has a great location, spacious rooms and is very affordable, and right in the middle of the Night Market (nearby some yummy grilled fish). It's popular among Chinese and that's obvious in every aspect of the hotel: breakfast options (noodle soup or eggs), staff attitude (pretty direct without much emotion), fellow guests (as good as aaaaaall Chinoise), room design and facilities (fake flowers, Chinese TV), etc. Staying four nights, we quickly got used to the hotel and it's 'charming' hostess. As one of the previous reviewers mentions, she's addicted to her Iphone, pops up unexpectedly and is pretty direct with a no-nonsense attitude which might set off some people, but travelling in China and other parts of Asia, not uncommon, so we got used to her. You pick this hotel for the affordable price, large rooms and good location but without having huge expectations...

Newly renovated, clean and well located
Physically a well located, clean and good space to rest in very pleasant room. It had been taken over by a new owner and was in the early stages of development. The unfortunate attitude of the new owner detracted from the stay.

Perfect Location in a beautiful city.”
Location was perfect for our Pi Mai trip as parade went right past our door. Restauraunt faced the street and plenty of room for our children to run around. The rooms were large & comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay here as the hotel is in a great spot close to most things such as restauraunts, shops, markets & attractions. The staff are friendly and very understanding of small noisy children and were happy to play with them. The Manager was friendly and accommodating. It was a busy time as it was Laos New Year and this maybe why staff were not always quick with food and drink service-maybe a little more training would solve this. Overall a great stay. If you have small children book a downstairs room.
