Good location ”
Nice clean hotel in a good location, friendly staff. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. Close to night market. Breakfast was good, WiFi was strong and stable. Could find anything to complain about!
Comfortable stay. Decent breakfast”
Situated on Chan Anou Road, Lao Orchid Hotel is conveniently located near the Vientiane Night Market street. At night, food carts are set up along the streets. The number of grills leads to the air being very smokey. In the hotel corridor which isn't air conditioned, you can smell it. I had a superior room for 2 days. The stay was comfortable. Pillows were plush, and the bed provided sufficient support. I was told that the minibar is free for consumption. There were two Scwepps, one minute maid and one 100plus. The balcony provided a good view of the street below and the night market. There was cable TV which included AXN and Fox movies, perfect for watching during the hot afternoons. Every day, you get 1 1.5L bottle and 2 600ml bottles of water. There is a small safe inside the closet. The toilet was a simple affair. Toothbrush and toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo were provided. Face, hand and bath towels were provided too. The water pressure for the shower was a little weak.
Neat and clean hotel located at main tourist location near by lake and Night market. The staff was helpful and proactive. On my arrival they already prepared everything and just took my passport for copy and gave ne the key. They room was quiet big with Balcony and city view. confortable bed, mini bar, in room safey box, free water bottles, nuts, all toiletries items. Breakfast was good, limited menu but it was good. Outside hotel you can find everything on walking distance and tuk tuk drivers also standing near hotel to take you to your desirable location. I booked tuk tuk in 40 usd for 6 locations including Buddha's Park. Definitely stay here again.
Had a very nice 3-day stay. Hotel could not be in. a better location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast on the veranda/bar. Room very clean; modern bath. Only thing missing was a POOL for the oppressive heat when I was there!
The location is excellent. In the old quarter and a few minutes walk from the riverside . Staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet provided a good choice of Asian and Western food. However I was given a room which turned out to be a kind of cubicle- apparently added later - jutting out into the corridor with curtained windows facing the exit of the elevator. That meant that noise from the corridor and from neighboring rooms penetrated effortlessly and would have kept me awake for the better part of the night had I not used earplugs, The room was clean but dated, the bathroom small and simple.
Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff in a great location.”
This was the perfect tropical climate hotel. Wooden floors, white linen and good air con. There are so many cafes and restaurants within short walking distance that you never need to use public transport.
Clean hotel comfortable room”
And well located.
Excellent. Just perfect for your visa run stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. Do not waste your money anywhere else. Everything you need is here and the staff are excellent and so helpful. Book it!
excellent hotel *****”
hotel excellent, room great, clean perfectly, room service, can't complain, service excellent, breakfast wonderful, all staff very nice and provide great service, location near night market, near all view point, very good, will come back for sure.
A very central hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter and close to the river and night market. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and courteous. Breakfast was enjoyable with lots of choice.
Plenty of restaurants close by and100 meters from the night market. Had a balcony room with a good view of the Mekong. Room spacious and clean and wifi good. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and food in general very good. Would definitely recommend.
Great location nice hotel”
Nice hotel, comfortable foam mattress, simple shower with single water source and heater. Only cold water at sink. Small safety box. Really good breakfast and fantastic location so close to street food, night market and restaurants. Nice wood through out the hotel. Plenty of water, free snacks, drinks and fresh fruit to the room. Highly recommend.
What a beautiful hotel - from the entry to the lobby to the rooms, very tastefully decorated. Booked a superior double for 2 nights and could've stayed longer just for the comfort. Spacious room, super comfy bed, TV (good selection of English channels), desk, wardrobe, safe, fridge, hair dryer, and balcony with a view. Could use a bit more lighting above the bed, as the reading lamp illuminates only one side of the bed. Bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast included the typical Asian buffet selection but I rank it above average due to a few special items like spring rolls, baguettes, yogurt, and muesli. Staff were exemplary, every person I encountered seemed genuinely happy to be of service. Location was ideal, steps to the night market. The only issue which might present a problem for some is that a nearby rooftop bar plays music until midnight, not super loud but I needed to play my own music to cover it up. Summary: this is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Recommended!
It’s hard to find anything to complain about. If I had one, it would be that it gets a little noisy at times. Maybe this is just a sacrifice you have to make for staying so close to all the action. And, to be fair, Vientiane was hosting a New Year’s countdown event, so there were literally rock and roll bands playing right across the street all week. I’m sure this isn’t the case throughout much of the rest of the year. Comfortable, clean room, and the breakfast served on the open air first floor was fantastic.
Very comfortable room, perfect location and wonderful view”
Spotless clean, has everything needed and is very spacious. I would highlight the beautiful view over the temple and the Mekong. Great value for money. Helpful staff. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.
Nice Hotel near Riverfront and Night Market”
This is my 4th stay at this hotel. As always the hotel never disappoints me. The place is very near to the Mekong river and the night market, a lot of eateries near by. You ask for anything it's there, however it's a bit far from the city center like the Patuxai monument but for a tourist this place is heaven. It's definitely not a budget hotel and the price rises up during tourist season from Sept-March. So better make your bookings in advance.
Nice hotel near Mekong and Night Market”
I stayed here for a night and my experience was very nice! The hotel is clean, beautiful and well managed. The breakfast is good for the price you are paying. You get a small balcony with some plants which is really nice. It is very near to the riverside area where you basically get everything during your vacation. But be remembered that most of the shops close by 9:30-10, if you are planning for late night dinner make sure to purchase some food in advance. Minor downsides are - 1. A bit far from the city center in case you are planning to go the famous Patuxai and other monuments, but again taxis, tuk-tuk are very cheap, don't forget to bargain. 2. Not many western channels in TV incase you are planning for some indoor time. There is a nice massage place just besides the Indian Restaurant near the Hotel, give it a try after long day.
This was my second stay at the Lao Orchid Hotel in as many months and I will happily stay there again. It's great value for money in the heart of the CBD but far away from any night life to ensure peace and quiet. Clean, good beds, great pillows, and decent towels. Sometimes the wifi would be off with little to no explanation but you get that in SE Asian hotels. My only suggestion is more training for the front desk personnel. Always friendly but need to be trained to communicate better when presented with a question they don't know the answer to (question was why the internet wasn't working). Culture aside, I would much rather be told "I don't know but I will find out the answer" than made to sit through 5-10 minutes of trying to look busy before I have to leave the desk out of frustration. The joys of travel, will happily stay here again and will recommend to others.
location is good. ”
this place has awesome location to adventure the cities during 1-2days in the city. Room was clean, and service is ok. however, take care of when you need to reserve bus ticket or some tickets here because receptionists can recommend you to more relatively expensive one than you expect. I pretty make sure you could find another economical alternatives!
There are not many hotels in VTE in this price category. The difference between this one and hotels at the more usual $10-$20 cheaper price is worth it - the staff are properly trained for tourism and speak good English. The breakfast is also a step up from cheaper places and the room was spacious and comfortable.
