Really great location”
I had bungalow number one which is right on the beach snorkelling is quite good and I provide mask at the hotel you’re only literally two minutes walk from the main beach with plenty of restaurants lady on reception was helpful the Wi-Fi works fine
Decent place - close to sea - no beach”
Was a good experience except that room was not very spacious for the price we paid. But better than good resorts around which was noisy and crowded. This was more secluded and quiet. No breakfast and service was ok.
Great but non existent wi-fi”
Larissa is an amazing resort, It really is. Its a small resort thats perfectly located on the shore line. There really isn't much that could be improved on except for the was the wi-fi. I doesn't really work. But that could also be good if you're really looking to disconnect.
Great stay at a great little place!”
Beautiful clean rooms. Quite spacious and steps away from a private (albeit very rocky) beach. Short walk to the main beach which I found to be awesome! Gorgeous sand and lots of restaurants and bars. Do yourself a favour and rent a motorbike. We had the best time exploring the island! The management and the staff were very nice. I would recommend Larissa and will stay there again!
A beautiful resort with its own private beach area and a very helpful and welcoming owner. The rooms and gardens are kept spotless. The location is nice and quiet with a short walk to bars and shops. We hired kayaks from reception for 300 baht.
We took a private taxi from the port to the hotel. The taxi stopped, with no location for Larissa. We asked, and he pointed. We took our luggage (no hotel assistance) down the road, not knowing where we were going. After 50 meters, we see a sign, Larissa Resort to the left. We followed the sign, and then there was a larger sign. OK, now where is the office? The office is one of the units, with a lady and a computer in the deck. The room was OK, large. Amenities were OK. Going and coming from the room were not pleasant. I would not stay here again.
Lovely place ”
pretty little place”
stayed originally for 2 nights & extended to 4 nights. That says a lot - tucked away from the main town, although town is actually a sheet with bars cafe markets massage food stalls & a few seven elevens. It's a 5 minute saunter to the street & main gate to the national park. 2 minute walk to the big Budda. No food or drinks except for water which is left for you daily & tea & coffee. We knew that when we booked & used the outlets near by & stored in the fridge. the rooms/ chalets are spotless & very very clean modern & comfortable. Traveling with a 12 year old we had twin beds & ample space for us 2. a few English tv channels including movies news and documentary- enough to keep us entertained. beds pillows & linen good quality & clean. private beach could do with a bit of TLC but overall well maintained. liked the attention to details : outside bins emptied often paths & varanders swept several times a day, mosquito coils lit & put on each guests varander each evening. Could not fault it..matched description in Agonda & more. lovely friendly staff with a big black & white pampered puddy cat. NOTHING TO NOT LIKE & LOVELY STAY. THANK YOU.
Firstly in terms of cost all hotels on koh samet are more expensive than Thailand so be prepared for that Although I was a solo traveller this place is ideal for couples - so romantic with its private beach that is perfect for snorkelling No breakfast available but only short walk to restaurants Perfect in every way for a time in paradise
lovely quiet resort with nice quiet relaxing beach”
nice quiet hidden resort not to far from the centre of samet about 5 or 10 minutes walk room are nice and big have a nice little beach in the resort to relax 5 minutes walk and you can have all the actions of samet I would stay here again if I came back
Have realistic expectations”
Strange lay-out, but none the less charming in its own way. Definitely out of the way from the big beach resorts and very quiet. Easy walk to the beach and the main road. The layout and the bungalow places around it are a bit haphazard, but again if you have realistic expectations you will enjoy. We really liked our time there.
Calm place near Sai Kaew beach. Clean, nice room, comfortable sleeping. If you don't need to use hotel wi-fi, then it's the ideal place for you;o)
Lacking in a lot”
Checkin is 2pm Checkout is 11am We arrived early (11:30am) due to the bus and boat transport however staff were kind enough to allow us to pick a room. We felt that since the entire resort was old and lacking essentials, it was not worth the money we paid, compared to other high end resorts priced at exactly the same level. Pros: Location, at the end of the main beach so quiet but good access No tour groups Cons: No onsite food offerings, No pool, Have to walk through staff bin and housing to reach the resort. Room lacking features (bare essentials only) Bad shower and toilet Room cleaning ends at 1pm so don't sleep in Deluxe Twin and Double Rooms are the same rooms (they just push the beds together) Perfect for one night stays, but longer, I advise to compare against better resorts and hotels at the same price.
Stinky environment, noisy staff”
The beach is cozy and the room is ok. That's about it. The surroundings are very dirty and smelly and the straff walks around your room all the time so you can say bye bye to your privacy and comfort. Would not recommend.
too many mosquito”
room and site is ok , but at evening too many mosquito!
Nice Bungalows ”
Bungalows directly or close to the private beach. Very friendly and helpful staff! Offers transportation to the pier. Unfortunately the neighbourhood is really shabby. You can`t see it from the beach but every time you are walking to the other beach or village. Perfect for a weekend trip or a couple of days off by the sea!
Priced similar to a Prime Bangkok Hotel without the benefits”
Property has a nice private beach, however very little of other things. It has no breakfast, satelite tv barely works and has no internationsl channels, internet is slow and i tested it as 970 kb/s. The room has only 2 pillows for 2 beds and no tables. Safe not working in room and garbage totally surrounds the property as no one seems to care to make it look nice. Also rooms have no phones and bathroom has no toothpaste/brushes, soap and mold is all over tiles (since they do not use bleach to clean)..... property needs to be cleaner everywhere including beach area. Would be nice to add outside bar with optional food cooking service on beach.
Great location. If you just want to walk outside and take 20 steps and youll be at the beach this is the place. Staff are friendly, but the staff consist of 3 cleaners and the manager/owner lives at the first room and she checks you in and checking out you just leave the key on the table. Also for breakfast there is a place nearby called the banana would recommend that place.
nice place to escape from a noisy Kho Samet's life”
I have only one concern - in the description of the resort it should be mentioned that it is impossible to swim in Larissa's beach. It is rocky and dangerous to walk to the sea (although sitting on a seashore is nice and sipping coctail or coffee, looking at sunrise makes your life quite relaxing). Some people (like me and my dad) love swimming and it seems misleading not to mentioning such a drawback...Please, take care I would like to thank the manager who arranged a smooth trip back to BKK. In general, staff performance was great, efficient and invisible. One more thing - when submitting question through Agoda's reservation site we received no answer. And it is not the first time when communication failed so I tend to believe it was Agoda's fault rather than a communication gap with the resort.
cozy place to spend few days”
We've been staying as a family in two separate houses at Larissa. Evrything was nice, especially the manager (spacial thanks go to Koy, if I am, correct in naming) who organized for us a good transfer back to BKK. There are few things however - communication with Larissa via Agoda (as in previous case) failed - not sure whether it was Agoda's fault or resort's one or both but I asked specific questions and got no reply. Second thing - one has to mention that it is impossible to swim in the beach. There is nothing wrong with that fact (rocky bottom) and there is a nice spot to view sunrize on a seashore but.. this fact should be indicated in the description of the hotel!
