Larissa is a lovely resort, much better than the average on Ko Samet, with very clean rooms, good air-con, decent WIFI, friendly and helpful staff, and its own private beach! I would go again.
Firstly in terms of cost all hotels on koh samet are more expensive than Thailand so be prepared for that Although I was a solo traveller this place is ideal for couples - so romantic with its private beach that is perfect for snorkelling No breakfast available but only short walk to restaurants Perfect in every way for a time in paradise
lovely quiet resort with nice quiet relaxing beach”
nice quiet hidden resort not to far from the centre of samet about 5 or 10 minutes walk room are nice and big have a nice little beach in the resort to relax 5 minutes walk and you can have all the actions of samet I would stay here again if I came back
cozy place to spend few days”
We've been staying as a family in two separate houses at Larissa. Evrything was nice, especially the manager (spacial thanks go to Koy, if I am, correct in naming) who organized for us a good transfer back to BKK. There are few things however - communication with Larissa via Agoda (as in previous case) failed - not sure whether it was Agoda's fault or resort's one or both but I asked specific questions and got no reply. Second thing - one has to mention that it is impossible to swim in the beach. There is nothing wrong with that fact (rocky bottom) and there is a nice spot to view sunrize on a seashore but.. this fact should be indicated in the description of the hotel!
Great but non existent wi-fi”
Larissa is an amazing resort, It really is. Its a small resort thats perfectly located on the shore line. There really isn't much that could be improved on except for the was the wi-fi. I doesn't really work. But that could also be good if you're really looking to disconnect.
Short but Sweet”
Mt time at Larissa was short but sweet. At this time of year and on a budget I was fortunate to pick this small quiet resort. The bungalows are adequate in all respects. Tea and coffee plus 2 waters/day are a nice touch. Room and towels clean daily. No food onsite but plenty of choice just a few minutes walk. Lovely beach close by but busy at height of season. Koy the manager smiles for Thailand and she could not have been more helpful. Thank you
Great stay at a great little place!”
Beautiful clean rooms. Quite spacious and steps away from a private (albeit very rocky) beach. Short walk to the main beach which I found to be awesome! Gorgeous sand and lots of restaurants and bars. Do yourself a favour and rent a motorbike. We had the best time exploring the island! The management and the staff were very nice. I would recommend Larissa and will stay there again!
Excellent location to the main beaches, yet secluded enough to feel like a retreat. Larissa is perfect! I stayed with a toddler and was very comfortable here. Thank you Larissa family!
Great little resort!”
Great little resort in Samet, in a quiet area near the main beach. The resort offers authentic bungalows with nice sea view for most. The bungalows are fairly basic but modern and very clean. The resort does not have a bar or anything. However there is a direct and private sea access where you can go for a swim and relax with almost nobody although it is more rocky there. Overall great experience for a long weekend!
Lovely rooms in peaceful setting ”
The bungalows at Larissa are set around a strip of garden leading to a small private cove. Don’t expect the white sand Turquoise waters beauty of other bigger beaches on the island, but it’s perfect for a bit of peaceful relaxing and looking out to sea. The rooms are bright, spacious and with tasteful, simple furnishing and decor and all kept very clean and comfortable. It was nice to sit outside on the private deck. We found the staff friendly and willing to advise and liked the quiet location as it is quite easy to access the town, main busier beach, Buddha and port. We hired a moped so we could more easily go further afield as well as otherwise the surrounding area may feel limited after a while.
Lovely staffs, nice and quiet resort not far from main beach”
The resort location was great for us, there is a small rocky beach at the front but 2 mins walk to the main beach so that what we prefer cause we don’t want to be in the busy area but close enough to walk. The room size is reasonable with price and it’s comfortable. Only thing we didn’t like was the shower curtain, just feel like it doesn’t work. Staffs are very friendly and give good tips for nearby restaurants. We did enjoy our time there and would go back.
nice place to escape from a noisy Kho Samet's life”
I have only one concern - in the description of the resort it should be mentioned that it is impossible to swim in Larissa's beach. It is rocky and dangerous to walk to the sea (although sitting on a seashore is nice and sipping coctail or coffee, looking at sunrise makes your life quite relaxing). Some people (like me and my dad) love swimming and it seems misleading not to mentioning such a drawback...Please, take care I would like to thank the manager who arranged a smooth trip back to BKK. In general, staff performance was great, efficient and invisible. One more thing - when submitting question through Agoda's reservation site we received no answer. And it is not the first time when communication failed so I tend to believe it was Agoda's fault rather than a communication gap with the resort.
It’s ok. ”
I think the room price is a quite expensive. The room can’t lock from inside. It makes the customer isn’t comfortable. But nothing bad happen when i stayed there for 1 night. This resort has private beach but can’t swim cuz too much stones. Just sightseeing is very nice. For the next time i prefer to find new resort.
Great and clean place to stay.”
Great location, with its own little bay, for those who just want to relax at the resort. Easy access to Sai Kaew Beach for meals and convenient stores (The only 7-11 on the island). The rooms are nicely done, most importantly, it's very clean. In front of the room, there is an earthen jar filled with water for you to wash your legs from the sand. Inside, there's also a set of broom and dust collector, which I find to be very thoughtful.
Decent place - close to sea - no beach”
Was a good experience except that room was not very spacious for the price we paid. But better than good resorts around which was noisy and crowded. This was more secluded and quiet. No breakfast and service was ok.
Good stay ”
I've been here once and i thought it's a good resort and I will definitely come back again. The location is convenient to all bars and centre samed, which can cut taxi costs.
A beautiful resort with its own private beach area and a very helpful and welcoming owner. The rooms and gardens are kept spotless. The location is nice and quiet with a short walk to bars and shops. We hired kayaks from reception for 300 baht.
Have realistic expectations”
Strange lay-out, but none the less charming in its own way. Definitely out of the way from the big beach resorts and very quiet. Easy walk to the beach and the main road. The layout and the bungalow places around it are a bit haphazard, but again if you have realistic expectations you will enjoy. We really liked our time there.
Tranquil & humble resort”
I like this resort. nothing fancy but it's has the private beach area. Room was clean and staff were friendly. Cats were roaming freely at the property. Another reason to be back here again.
Great location in the island”
- That's a terrific resort in Thailand , I'd never been it before.
