Overnight stay at the Las Palmeras Hotel.”
If you are looking for somewhere quiet and away from the crowds of Marrakech-this is the place for you. Suitable for an overnight stop away from city.I have put 'satisfied' for this hotel as it was OK for our needs and we were so relieved to have found it given the weather conditions!
The location of this hotel is not suitable for anyone wishing to visit Marrakech on a daily basis unless they have their own transport or lots of money for taxis. We chose it as an overnight stop on the way to Ouarzazate.
We arrived in Marrakech in a rainstorm at about 6pm. We knew the hotel was going to be difficult to find from previous reviews so enlisted the help of the staff at the car rental firm.Without their help it is doubtful we would have ever found it! The road conditions were atrocious but we eventually made it. We were the only guests that night. We had the undivided attention of one young man who was very courteous and helpful. He spoke no English.Fortunately we speak French! There was no food available so we ate our left over sandwiches. He did provide us with some tea! We were given a great breakfast in the morning. The hotel is decorated in traditional Moroccan style and would be very cool in the summer I should think. We had to put the heaters on! The grounds looked lovely even in the pouring rain. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable but the ensuite bathroom was very tired! The shower cubicle was not up to European standards. We were contacted by the hotel prior to our arrival asking us if we needed transport from the airport. I think they should have mentioned to us that there would be no food that evening. There are no restaurants nearby. It really is in the middle of nowhere and should not advertise itself as a Marrakech hotel. it
