Really love this place”
Just wonder why this resort got quite low point for customer review.. the location is really superb.. this is the best location among other nearby floating resort.. the bedroom is spacious and clean.. very comfortable to rest at the balcony with a great view.. the food is extremely delicious.. they even send kueh to our room during minum petang when we are not there on time.. the only downside of this hotel is the bed n pillow.. budget hotel in semporna even has a better bed n pillow.. and dont expect u can jump off into the sea from your balcony like other nearby floating resort.. this is the only point that make me not to return to this resort.. i am looking for a floating resort that we can swim directly to the sea from our balcony.. at lato lato there is only one public entrance to enjoy the crystal clear water.. the same location with the boat entrance.. not really comfortable to swim when boats are going in and out.. hopefully lato lato will make more entrance direct to the sea.. nearby room 23 is a superb location to make an entrance into the sea.. i give 10 points for my review of staying here but i will not return here..on my next visit i will book nearby floating resort which we can jump off to the sea directly from our balcony.. that feature is a must have for a floating resort despite of any other facilities..

The Facilities and Amenities Was Perfect You Just No Need Bring Anything To Come Here .. Everything Was Provided And You Just To Relax And Enjoyed The View And The Scenery at Here .. The Place Was Amazing And Wonderful .. The Only Thing Need To Improve And Upgraded Is The Selection Of Food Mostly On Dinner Time .. Should Be Have More Varieties Especially Seafood Item Which Is Very Cheap In Semporna .. They Should Provided More Assorted Seafood To The Guest .. Only Food Must Be Improves .. Other Things Was Superb And Tremendous..

Clean rooms but no sewer treatment”
Firstly, know that this resort is one of the cheapest, in terms of location. So the rooms are basic but clean. The photos of the room did not look like the actual room. But we already knew it was basic and we were ok with it. Best part: You have a direct and unobstructed view of BoheyDulang island. The staffs don’t speak much English, but they are very helpful and friendly, so be patient. The blanket provided was too small, we requested for extra and they obliged. The number listed on Agoda belongs to an agent. He didn’t reply my email or WhatsApp until a month later, on the day before my arrival. I would recommend texting the owner Mun directly at +60168234418. But replies are not instantaneous. Bathroom. You have a tap and a bucket. This is for showering, washing hands, brushing teeth and filling up the WC tank to flush. No hot water but bathroom is clean. However the door to the WC opens into the WC and hits it. So you’re left with a gap that is less than 1 foot to manoeuvre yourself into the cubicle. I am not sure why anyone would install a door in such a way. Food was delicious and portions generous. I am not sure why there are reviews that states otherwise. We were really well fed. The only thing I don’t like about this place is the sewer system. There is NONE. Everything you do in the bathroom discharges directly into the sea. EVERYTHING. I felt really bad showering and going to the loo everyday I was there. I also wouldn’t recommend swimming in the water around the resort. Unless they put in a working sewer treatment system, I wouldn’t come back. Which is sad because everything else was wonderful.

The best choice! Located in the middle of ocean reef - beautiful place to spend time at. Accessable in and out only via boat. Basic facilities support your needs for beach/ ocean lovers. Who needs a TV when u can splurge urself with the scenic endless view of the open ocean! Beautiful. Food was superb even they provide the simplest menu - tasty and just nice. Resort staff was amazingly friendly and attended to your needs or request. Lato Lato memang best 👍🇲🇾

Chill and beautiful place to relax ”
Had an easy booking via Agoda. However this booking exclude boat transfer to and from Jeti Umum Semporna, was charge rm100/2pax per route for the boat transfer. Food is a lot and delicious. Good view and relax place to wind down. A good experience for me. Will come back with family next time

Great for budget traveller.. unfortunately no air conditioning and sometimes hot weather not comfortable.. boat fee need to pay like rm150 per trip.. total with return trip like rm300 per 2@3 pax..

the price exclude boat transfer”
i have stay at lato2 couple of times.. but this time i went there. they inform us we need to pay rm50 per pax for the boat transfer from semporna jetty to lato2.. it surprise me bcoz normally the room charge is include with boat teansfer.. i not sure about return transfer from lato2 to jetty has to pay another rm50 or not bcoz after that we move to mabul & mabul house pick up us from lato2 and nextday transfer back to semporna jetty without any hidden charge.. if everytime need to pay.. lato2 hidden charge for transfer fee only cost about rm100/pax.. so lato2 better u put remark on the discription that the fare is EXCLUDED boat transfer to avoid misunderstanding with your customer.. other than that.. i have no complaint..

We loved spending some time out in the middle of the sea! The underwater world surrounding the resort is magnificent! The resort itself was amazing simply because of the location. One thing that would have been a helpful experience would be if the resort sent a resort worker on the boat to help you get back on land afterward. We were bombarded by locals that tried to hold our bags hostage if we didn’t give them money. This could have been avoided with the help of one of the workers. Besides that, bathroom and shower in our room was not clean, and we wouldn’t have stepped foot in there without flip flops, but the location made up for it. Felt more like a private room in a hostel on the sea.

I love the clear blue water, where I can just dive in right from the resort. U can see starfish right while you walking along the path of the resort. When I swim in the sea, I can just see fishes around. At sunset and night time, u might be lucky to see turtles. The surrounding is beautiful . Food is ok, to fill my tummy. Normal typical Malaysian food. Everything is good. Don’t expect a 5 star room for the price you pay. Just a nice “kampung” room with bed and toilet. No heater. Bedsheet might be a bit sticky due to the fact that we are in the middle of the sea. Shower using bucket and pail. But it’s ok. But i still love it and have fun there. Power cut off from 8am-6pm..

Booking Lato lato resort via apps is not advisable ”
If u want to book this resort, i strongly recommend to call them instead. Not using any booking apps. I booked a room for 2. I think it was overlap due to school holidays. I paid full (of course, via Agoda,rm645) , but when i arrived, I've been told the resort had water problem and booked me at another hotel near the jetty. I thought it was a compensation, but sadly i need to pay rm90 per night. As I checked online, that hotel is rm120/night, not even a half rent per night at Lato lato resort (around rm320+- per night). I took the receipt for later, (consumer tribunal purpose). When i checked out from Lato lato, i confronted the staff at the counter. Unfortunately they're just merely pawn, not able to make decision. Until now, the WhatsApp messages to the number regarding this matter weren't answer, yet. Secondly, any messages via WhatsApp to the number (displayed in agoda) are hardly reply. Late response, and not picking up the call. I think they answered me.once
