Out of Season Blues
Location (isolated, beautiful, wild), Bathroom (very big, open shower), natural environment
Le Domaine de Tam Hai is a beautiful resort and one I would definitely return to, but unfortunately, we were there in the windy, rainy season which meant we couldn't swim or kayak, so, effectively there is not a lot to do apart from walk and ride around. The bungalow was pleasant and big enough with every kind of anti- mosquito device imaginable, but the sofa was not comfortable, nowhere to lean back and relax. It was also very dark and as I had work to keep up with, this was not easy. The bed was averagely comfortable but the mattress felt a little overused.I like that there was a big bottle of water in the room, so no need to pay for it from the minibar. Our main complaint was that the restaurant was massively overpriced and food was nothing special. There are no nearby restaurants which is why they can overcharge. It appears that they have no chef (maybe they do in the summer season) so a couple of local girls do the cooking and can't always remember how to make all the dishes on the menu. Stick to the Vietnamese food, but avoid the high cost options- they are very basic and can be found outside at much lower cost. The breakfast (we chose western), by contrast, was very good, except that the coffee is only Vietnamese style. We had a free speed boat transfer at start and end of journey, which was exhilarating, but if you need to go off the island at any other time you would need to pay extra. You can also get a motorbike to the end of the island and take the public ferry to the mainland. We used the resort car for airport pickup/drop off and also for a business trip and that worked out at a reasonable price. In general staff are friendly, helpful and the whole environment is pleasant and relaxed. There is a British General Manager who is also attentive and helpful.I would love to go back in the summer or spring when we could make more use of the outdoor facilities.

A peaceful resort
Good location, nice staffs, tasty food
It is a good and peaceful hotel! although the location is a bit far from the city, but its worth to stay here! it takes around 2 hrs and 15 mins to go there! the hotel has pick up service, cost US50 per way! There is a private beach in the resort, you can see sunrise and sunset on the beach, it is very romantic!!! The manager in the hotel is very nice, and all the staffs are nice too! everyone in the hotel is very quite and polite! so if you know you are too noisy, please dont go there, dont destroy that peaceful! i think everyone will like this resort after you stayed! :)

Nice resort, serene environment
The food was excellent. We liked that the domaine was compact and small. It was really quiet, which was a nice change from the hectic in the big city. The swimmingpool was nice and clean.
The only downside was that it took some effort to reach. Although the pick up was arranged and all worked well.

fantastic and large beachfront villas
Isolated island, friendly staff, delicious food
There're the fantastic and large beachfront villas. If you are looking for a place to chill with private beach this is it. Food: an authentic taste of French cuisine and fresh seafood.

Comfortable beach resort surrounded by nature
Beautiful location far away from busy tourist sites, comfortable and easy to reach by plane and car
Le Domaine de Tam Hai is a wonderful place to undwind far away from today's busy life. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature, yet the hotel still offers all comfort you need. Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the excellent cuisine, in particular the local seafood. The hotel has a playground and toys for the children. Our kids loved to play with the hotel staff. This is the right place to enjoy the beautiful costal area of Vietnam, for those who love nature, but still appreciate comfort, far away from crowded and noisy tourist sites. We will certainly come back!

Lovely and quiet, perfect for relaxing holiday
Your own bungalow. Dinner on the sandy beach.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. We used kayaks to get across the river, got a boat for snorkelling in the sea. We rented bicycles (free but needs maintenance!) to cycle around the nearby villages. Very relaxing. The downside is that there isn't any local shops or cafe in walking distance, so you have to eat and drink at the resort, which can be pricey.

A getaway resort for lovers of nature and serenity
Serenity, Hospitality
We visited the historic and cool Hoi An (avoiding the undesirable Danang) and by chance found Le Domaine de Tam Hai, 90 mins south of Hoian by car, on Agoda when we wanted a couple of nights to a place away from everything. We were not disappointed. Jennes the resort manager is a cool dude who knows how to make his stuff - food, travels, worldly issues and the local villagers... most of all, a balance of good service and giving his guests the privacy they want. The resort needs some minor work but nothing wrong with it as it is - great bungalows next to a private section of the river mouth... a cool and friendly village within a nice stroll or bicycle ride away. Great food too! mix of french and vietnamese styled unique meals... fresh seafood being the focus. Will definitely go back... even if it's just for the local rice wine =]
