Cozy and with Nature”
The hotel is surrounded by trees and plants. It is about 20 minutes drive to the famous Sigiriya site or Lion Rock/Fortress. It is also around half hour to the departure area for Hot Air Balloon if available. The family room was clean and spacious with AC, TV, towels, and complimentary water. It included breakfast of toasted bread, egg cooked of your choice, roti, fresh banana juice, and coffee. The attendants were always checking for our needs when we stayed there.
Nice family run hotel”
Nice hotel near to Sigiriya Rock, breakfast was nice and good sized rooms. Showers weren’t hot though and quite far away from nearby restaurants. Friendly owners, just stayed 1 night
Great value for the money”
It's a really great place to stay! The staff is very friendly and Franklyn is a great host. They really take care of you and they can help with good advise for your trip. The breakfast was great and you may choose yourself when you want to eat. E.g. one day we had to leave early (5 am) so we could choose to have the breakfast as take away. I have never experienced such a hospitality and kindness in any other hotel. You can also order dinner at the hotel, but unfortunately we did not try it because of other plans. The room had AC and a fan. Really spacious for the money and a great bed. They have a big garden, where they grow the vegetable for the breakfast. You will not be disappointed, just go.
We stayed 3 days. The staff was very friendly. The manager was around and talked to us several times and was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and well kept. We ate all our meals here both lunch and dinner. Excellent curry.
Good deal for a average stay”
Average stay. Half hour drive to rock cave temple or lion rock mountain. The room is clean and tidy. I think it is better to add a boil water machine......
Value for money hotel”
Pros: Value for money. Exceptional service and good staff Breakfast included. Cons: No alternatives nearby for eating out. In house food is expensive (by SL standards).
Very enjoyable 2 night stay .Staff and food excellent would recommend to all.”
Excellent would thoroughly recommend to call. Fabulous cook curry amazing. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
Save your money and go elsewhere. Staff kept switching our air conditioning off before dinner and owner used our expensive taxi ride to drop him self off on the way. Our bathroom had ants crawling out the sink pipes for three days and the rooms linen wasnt changed during our stay. Wouldnt come back and wouldnt recommend.
A pleasant stay”
This hotel was pleasant enough with all the standards comforts. They helped me book a safari and transport though I definitely felt I was being pushed into more expensive options - no information was given about local buses and I was told a tuk tuk would be dangerous as some tourists were recently killed in an elephant attack. When I said I couldn't afford a car and driver by myself, the tuk tuk option was suddenly considered safe enough and still no help with buses which I realised the following day would have been VERY easy and cheap to get to both Sigiriya and Dambulla). That said, everyone was very friendly. I was catered to as a vegetarian without problem and dinner was delicious and very generous. The wifi barely worked in my room and it's more than a walk to the main street but there's not much there anyway so it was a good option for just hanging out.
We stayed here in February and made the decision to over rule our tour guides recommendation. Well done us as this proved to be a little gem. Okay, it's more of a homestay than some of the hotels we'd been to on our journey throughout Sri Lanka, but it was a total delight. The food was prepared by the family and served to all the guests (six of us) together which made for a great chat and exchange of experiences. Rooms were basic but definately comfortable and at least we had hot showers. W'ed paid three times the amount at other establishments for about the same standard but most decidedly without the same service we recieved here. Their Safari trip was wonderful and well worth the money also. Loved it here, and a big thumbsup.
Nice one night stay”
The staff were helpful but the hotel was far out. The TV didn't have any english channels. The air con worked very well and the bed was comfy.
Homey and relaxing place to stay!”
We really loved our stay at this hotel, the hotel manager, Franklin, is wonderful and really makes you feel like a part of the family while you are there. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. It is about 2 KM from the actual town of Habarana, but a nice walk and easy to get a tuk-tuk if you don't want to walk. All of the rooms have a nice shared patio, which was lovely in the evenings to hang out on. They don't offer lunch, but breakfast was good, and dinner was also very good! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
our 3 rooms were good and clean, but dinner was limited with little or no choice.
Hard to Judge”
Firstly all the positives. The rooms are very clean, there is plenty of hot water, the air conditioning is fantastic and the western breakfast was nice. Now this may sound a little picky but the breakfast area was in the direct sunlight and for me the heat and humidity even at 8:00 am was too much to handle. Also the area for the driver to sleep was very poor and I am not even sure if they gave him breakfast. Which all the other hotels did provide. This put a real damper on the stay for us as we had built up a great relationship with our driver.
Pleasant but very basic”
We had a pleasant stay, the staff were very friendly and breakfast was basic but adequate. Negatives include the hot water running out after half a shower; there was no bedding other than pillows and a sheet; and you can hear the traffic noise from the room.
Terrible stay, very rude owner, avoid staying here”
Stay was terrible. Owner was extremely rude. No food for vegetarians. Overcharged us for everything. No water in the rooms. No trash cans in the bathrooms. Mosquitoes. Poor lighting. TVs not working. Air conditioner not cooling. Avoid staying here!
Very Friendly Staff”
Good traditional rooms, homely atmosphere”
Its a good atmosphere to be in coming from the western parts of the world. For others coming from the indian sub continent will feel very homely. Traditional food of srilanka is served by the hotel which is similar to southern part of India. For western people the international breakfast is served. Staff are very welcoming and they cater to all your needs which is possible in that part of sri lanka.
Small nice hotel with great service”
I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and their service was excellent. The hotel was full but you still feel like you're their only guest. I think the hotel is very lucky to have a manager such as Kamal. I do have to warn though that food prices are double than what I've encountered in other hotels, and thrice the amount in local restaurants; although still cheap by western standards (dinner for around $10).
