    Great hotel on the riverside”

location, big balcony with outstanding view, service was friendly and good

Great stay at the Le Grand Mekong Hotel. The location is perfect and the views from the front rooms are outstanding. Very pleasant place to stay. Within walking distance to many places to eat and whatnot. Nice to go for evening walks on the riverside and watch the river activity from the room. I recommend higher floors, since the riverside road can be busy/noisy at times. I have stayed on the 5th and 7th floors and it was no problem, but I can imagine the lower floors might be a different story. The hotel was very recently renovated and everything is new and modern. Probably one of the best places to stay on the riverside. The breakfast is not bad, food nothing to write home about, but does the job. The view while eating is amazing and the coffee was good. Be careful if leaving a motorbike outside at night as I had some parts stolen from mine, even though it was parked right next to the security guard. I suspect he was asleep on the job and just bad luck for me. I realize this won't be an issue for most people as they won't have a motorbike. All in all I highly recommend this hotel and will probably be staying there during future visits to Phnom Penh.

    A Wonderful Surprise”

(I live/work in Thailand) This was my first time visiting Phnom Penh & enjoyed exploring the city- for the adventurer type of tourist. The small hotel's location was perfect for walking to the major tourist sites (national museum, Royal Palace, Wat Phnom, Central Market, and other sites. Le Grand Mekong Hotel sits across Sisowath Quay (river walkway) and along the main boulevard dotted with boutique shops and hotels along with inexpensive outdoor restaurants (food and drink very inexpensive). The hotel include a decent American breakfast and has happy hour on the roof top after 4pm. (Great view of the river and river walkway.) This hotel definitely made my 4 day visit worth while.

4 Star Not 3 Star Hotel”

    Location; Room; Staff

I haven’t been to Phnom Penh before and chose this hotel based on (what I thought looked like a good) location, price and ratings from other Agoda users. The location was fantastic – better than I could have hoped for. It turns out Phnom Penh features an area called Riverside and this hotel is right there. It was easy to go outside, walk around and get oriented. You couldn’t really get lost with the street numbering system and the hotel is right on that riverside boulevard. It is a 10 minute stroll to the Royal Palace and maybe 15 minutes to the Central Market, where there are lots of bargains for clothes, shoes etc. (And I mean STROLL not walk!) The room was good. More space than an average hotel room. The bathroom was spacious; it featured no bath, just an open shower area but it was comfortably spacious. It featured a 3 way shower head arrangement that would make anyone happy with the water flow (hand held, ceiling rain forest or regular water spout). I was on a high floor (7th floor of 9 with level 8 featuring the rooftop restaurant; I couldn’t figure out what was on level 9); my room had a small balcony which happened to face the river and boulevard and gave an excellent view. The only criticism of the room would be the two chairs were of traditional Cambodian design – all wood and no fabric. While they looked nice they weren't especially comfortable. Staff were courteous and friendly. There was always someone who could speak English either at the front desk or available without notice if needed. I got a good deal on this hotel and stayed for 5 nights (6 days). I had an excellent experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Hotel Right at The Centre of Sissowath Phnom Penh”

Le Grand Mekong Hotel location is excellent. It is right at the centre of Sissowath area Phnom Penh. Close by are restaurants, cafes, riverside walkway, night market on weekend, and nightlife area. The hotel is not as grand as its name. It is a small hotel but reasonably clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly although they do not speak much English. Although in website the room size is put at 30 m2, I don’t think the size is that big. There are a small sofa, safe box (please make sure you read the instruction), mini fridge, and a rather huge bathroom. Please be careful because the bathroom floor is somewhat slippery. In all, one can choose this hotel if he/ she likes to stay close to action.

My visit to Phnom Penh will be ever remembered because of my stay at Le Grant Mekon Hotel. It is a budget friendly Hotel with a fantastic River Front location. Friendly & English speaking staff. Location. Rooftop. Breakfast.

Phnom Penh is nice and this hotel is fantastic! Very nice rooms with a view of the river and all the activity on the promenade. Close to the restaurants and bars. (BTW: bottle of Bombay Saphire under $20 in town)! Very spectacular views from the rooftop restaurant/bar. Beautiful at night with the breezes and city lights! Good happy hours! FYI: You can boat from Chou Doc, VN to Phnom Penn, and from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (if water is high enough. We made it it from PP to SR in 8 hrs in March when water was not very high. It could take only 5 hrs when water is high). Hotel can book.

good value riverside hotel in prime location”

thoroughly enjoyed my stay at le grand mekong once again as i this is my regular hotel of choice, hotel is situated in a prime location on the riverside close to bars and restaurants and within a short distance of the central market and night market. the hotel is starting to show its age with the bathrooms looking outdated and the rooms being the same as a few years ago when i last visited. the hotel staff were extremely helpful throughout the whole trip organising tours and private transportation to sihanoukville for reasonable pricing. all in all still a great place to stay but could do with a renovation to make the place look alive again.

Refurbished hotel located right on riverfront”

I used to stay at this hotel when it was Mekong Palace. When it closed for renovations I stayed at other nearby properties for the last couple of years. My usual options were either full or too expensive so I tried Le Grand Mekong and will probably make this my hotel of choice in the future. Rooftop bar/restaurant has excellent views. I had an inside room. I would imagine rooms facing the river may get some early morning noise from the riverfront exercise classes

Riverside views among the best...boutique hotel”

Centrally-located on riverside, this hotel is convenient starting point for touring or doing business in Phnom Penh.

The staff at this hotel had only basic English communication skills, but they are patient. My room was an upgrade over Superior City View-grade to their Deluxe Mekong River View-grade(It is during the low tourism monsoon season, and the upgrade was really appreciated). The room is tastefully decorated and comfortable...big comfy clean bed, large LCD TV, huge bathroom (no tub, but high quality shower system and plenty of really hot/cold clean running water, large clean, thick towels) and a very nice balcony overlooking the riverside promenade where foreign tourists and Khmer folk alike gravitate to relax -- it is simply where the action is in Phnom Penh. This is not a large hotel, but it is relatively new and close to most things tourists are interested in. The Wi-Fi is fast enough and pretty reliable...they have a generator for when the city experiences blackouts...no shortage of good eating and drinking places nearby...hotel food is hotel food...eat out, cheaper and better. Don't expect too much of the staff, but they are young and do try to do their jobs. Excellent value!

    Easy and Friendly ”

I was very happy with my stay at Le Grand Mekong. The room was very clean and staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel is right on the river. I booked with Agoda and than rang the Hotel to organise a transfer from the airport. They charged me $13 U.S. Wifi was free and very good in all parts of the hotel. My only disappointment was that there is no swimming pool.

large room in a great position”

Well-appointed large comfortable rooms with a great view over the Tonlay Sap. Hotel staff are superb and the hotel is positioned with easy access to everything.

We stay at this hotel on many occasions when we are in PP, the hotel is great value and so very very comfortable. We strongly recommend this hotel and the riverfront rooms. We will continue to use this hotel for our stays in Phnom Penh as it is positioned so well and offers everything at the hotel or at close hand.

    Comfyness at an affordable price”

    Bed, restroom, staff

It was a nice and comfortable to stay at Le Grand Mekong Hotel. The bed is comfortable. The shower room is nice though at first the drain didn't work properly because it was flipped the wrong side. The food in the ref were a bit pricey as expected of a hotel. The room took some time to be cold probably due to a low horsepower air conditioner or a too spacious room. The breakfast was so-so. The selection of meals could be improved. Get the "fried egg set" or "omelette set" if you're starting an activity-filled day. The staff were friendly. Thumbs up!

    Ausssie Solo”

This is a reasonable hotel at a great location with one of the best views of the riverside area on Phnom Penh. Get a room with a balcony. My room was basic but clean & had a working safe, air con, tv, side view balcony etc. The rooftop bar/restaurant has a stunning view but the food is ordinary. I ate most of my meals in the many good restaurants / bars all within 200 metres of the hotel. Everything else worth seeing in PP is close by. The staff were friendly & polite. Very good value for money. Please be patient & respectful to the Cambodian people. They are overwhelmingly happy to assist when they can.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

GREAT STAFF GREAT BREAKFAST GREAT LOCATION

I really enjoyed my stay at Le Grand. The Skylounge is fantastic with great views over the river. The location is perfect. The breakfast is superb! The staff very friendly and helpful. Only 2 things I would mention on the negative side. 1. building works going on next to hotel and noise starts around 8am so if you are not an early risor be prepared for a noisy awakening (drilling) 2. I would not advise anyone to use the hotels laundry service - very very expensive! take to local laundry and it will cost you about 1/10 of the price as I discovered.
