Perfect location and friendly staff”
Pros: *Perfect location at the night bazar and many restaurant/bars/markets *Amazing view from the room (we got high floor, mountain view) *Comfortable bed and size of the room *Staff is super polite and helpful in every situation *Breakfast has enough variations and good quality Cons: *Hotel is dominated by chinese people who often have rude behavior (shouting, splashing water at the pool, no sense for queuing in line, spitting, etc.) Would appreciate when the staff would intervene sometimes *Aircon in the room is noisy (especially during night) *Bathroom had some stains (mold?) around the shower walls *Pool is too small for 5 star hotel and that amount of people, sometimes it’s hard to get a sunbed as there is not enough space Overall I can recommend the Le Méridien Chian Mai without any concern, I will definitely book again if I come back.
Typical high class Western style hotel”
I've never stayed before in a 5 star Le Meridien, so it was a new experience. I was attracted by the fact this hotel is very close to the famous Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai, and of course the fact that Agoda gave me a good price. The service is immaculate, and the pool area where one has complimentary Wi Fi internet, is a lovely place to sit. It has a direct view of Doi Suthep on the hill, as well as part of the city, and the planes as they take off and fly past, just above Doe Suthep in the distance. The negatives for me, and this is a personal impression, is the fact that the hotel lacks character. It's just a modern hotel in the western style. I was also a little put off by the fact I couldn't use the internet in my room without paying some exhorbitant fee of 500 Baht a day. On the other hand, I can see the economic sense of that arrangement. To offer free internet in the lobby or pool area will result in at least a few customerrs buying a drink and/or snack.
Fantastic stay in Le Meridien Chiang Mai Hotel”
This is my first time stay in Le Meridien Chiang Mai Hotel. It was amazing as the staff is very patient and professional to help me for everything during my stay. The hotel located in downtown which near by the Night Bazaar and it is very convenience for shopping as well as eating with good food. I will absolutely stay here again and will recommend Le Meridien Chiang Mei Hotel to my friend.
Highly recommend this hotel!! ”
This hotel is top notch. From the attentive staff, (and I mean all of them, doormen, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant and bar staff. I highly recommend them. The hotel is conveniently located in the Night Bazaar area. I originally booked next door at the Suriwongse Hotel (old hotel). I booked 4 nights and I did not feel clean. The Hotel is old and had a very bad odor. After the first night, I waked my family over and booked 3 nights at Le Meridian. I booked though Agoda and even though I prepaid once I did not feel happy and paid more money to stay at Le Meridian. The front desk person at Le Meridian was very nice. I told him of our dilemma and he got us adjoining rooms, Internet and breakfast all nights for choosing their hotel. He didn't have to do that and I felt that was just the cherry that tops an already excellent hotel. That's the service you expect. I will definitely stay again and recommend the hotel to all my business associates. I hope Agoda helps me out with an credit for the lack of oversight on the quality of the hotel. The Suriwongse is not a 4 star hotel. Sincerely George Mendoza
Comfortable stay - Recommend friends”
+ 1st impression was great as they have upgraded my hotel room towards mountain side on a higher floor, provided complementary Wi-Fi and daily Illy tea/coffee at Altitude18. + Staff were very friendly, helpful and prompt - hall mark of a great hotel. + Location is awesome as its at heart of the Chiang Mai - its just next to Night Market/Bazaar which is a shopping haven (even with cheap version of branded goods), all restaurants e.g. Babylonian, Duke's, McDs, Subway, Indian, Arabian, Italian, English Resto & bars, plethora of massage parlours, etc. + Proximity to airport and local attractions e.g. old city temples, etc. + Great for business with plenty of conference rooms, etc. ***** - 1st impression could have been better if they would have provided a welcome drink and a refreshing face towel. - There is no facility to provide child care which could bring in more guests with small children. We felt that with our 7 year old kid however staffs were hospitable enough to keep check when we left him playing iPad at lobby sofas. - The pool doesn't meet the hotel standards and could have been relocated to a higher floor to provide a better view of the mountains at least e.g. an Infinity view style pool.
Wonderful stay in Chiang Mai”
Le Meridien is located very near the famous night bazaar & about 15min drive from the airport. There are lots of eateries, cafes, seafood restaurants, spas & massage within walkable distance from the hotel. Lobby and room were nicely designed. It was a very pleasant stay. If I were to return to Chiang Mai, I will probably book this hotel again.
A fabulous deal!”
Because the hotel we wanted to stay another night was full and because Le Meridien happened to be close by we checked it out on Agoda and got a fantastic deal for one night in a gorgeous Starwood Precious Guest room on the 17th floor with a view of Chiang Mai, an excellent dinner for two at their main restaurant where we had an interesting chat with the charming Indian Chef, delicious breakfast buffet the next day. Incredible! The hotel is very well situated right next to the night market.
More than value for money ”
Le Meridien totally exceeded our expectations. Hotel is centrally located with the night bazaar at doorsteps. Easy access from the airport, about a 15 mins taxi ride. Award winning Italian restaurant , Favola, is a great alternative to northern thai cuisine. Hotel staffs were exceptionally knowledgeable, polite and has stronger command of English than some of the big city hotels ( non native english speaking ) I have been to around the world. It is indeed a pleasant surprise considering that Chiangmai is not even a capital. Le Meridien does a good job in staffs selection and training. Concierge, Mr. Chairat was very helpful in planning our customised tour and it didn't cost as expensive as some of the travel agents highly raved about on Tripadvisor. Our tour guide Mr. Seart, was so patient with us, taking time to brief us on history and the origins of the attractions we went to. His combi was clean and comfortable and he always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. We enjoyed our trip in Chiangmai and we will definitely be back at le Meridien the next time round !
Wonderful vacation”
My husband and I could have such a wonderful vacation at Le Meridien Chiang Mai Hotel. Every staff was kind and our room was clean and large. The elevator wouldn't move without our room key. The hotel stands in the center of the night bazaar and we enjoyed the shopping there until late evening.
Exellent stay”
My stay at Le Meridien Chiang Mai Hotel was excellent. From the moment I arrived at the hotel the service was great, very friendly. The room is really exactly as the pictures. Huge and clean rooms. The location is the highlight of the stay since everything is walking distance. I only didn't enjoy the breakfast. Quite disappointing. The choice was way too Chinese, though I expect continental or something local. The fresh pancakes, waffles were pre made therefore they got cold and hard. Else than, everything else was great, no complains. And the birthday cake the hotel arranged for me was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended to stay here. I would definitely go back to stay here again!
Classy Hotel in Fabulous Location”
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during the Loy Kratong festival. The hotel is located in the central of the city centre and nearby the night bazaar. Restaurants and massage parlors was just a stone’s throw away from the hotel. We got a room on a high floor with great city view. The room was spacious, clean and very well maintained. The only downside of the hotel is that free internet access is only available on the first four floors and wifi access in the room is chargeable. Definitely would always be my first choice to stay in Chiang Mai.
Excellent hotel in great location”
very nice hotel in excellent location right next to the night bazaar. staff were friendly and helpful. i enjoyed the layout/design of the room, especially with the partial glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom. i appreciate this may not be to everyone's liking but i like the openess and the sense of a larger space. the breakfast buffet was ok - nothing out of the ordinary and of course rather pricey but if that's a problem for anyone then it's an easy choice to pop outside the hotel and get cheap excellent local food instead. i enjoy having breakfast in the hotel before heading out, so i don't mind paying for that. the pool area was very nice and had a pleasant view, although the way it's located means the sun won't get there until the afternoon. all in all, i'd recommend this hotel to anyone going to chiang mai.
Short break over the long weekend”
My wife flew in recently to surprise our son on his birthday as he was in boarding school in Chiang Mai. They had decided to have dinner at Favola on Saturday, 3 Dec to celebrate. The food was top notch and service was excellent. When the manager came over to ask how everything was and enquired about how long they would be staying, my wife told him that that night they were there to celebrate our son's birthday. Following that short conversation, they were pleasantly surprised with a small chocolate cake and candles as well as a complimentary mocktail and sparkling wine! Completely unexpected but thoroughly appreciated. They even sang happy birthday as they brought the cake over, it was lovely! Another thing worth mentioning was the attention and speedy response to the suggestion for floor mats in the gym. My wife mentioned that the first morning she had written on the gym signing sheet suggesting extra mats and the next morning, when she went to the gym again they had prepared one for her. She was impressed! Overall, my wife and son had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back to Le Meridien again the next time we are there.
A nice hotel located in Night Market”
The room is clean and spacious. The house keeping will clean your room twice a day. The bed and pillows are comfortable. We stay 3 nights there and we can enjoy free coffee in the coffee shop every day. The staff are very nice and helpful. They gave us a free chocolate cake to celebrate our anniversary. How sweet ! We needed to leave the hotel at 4 am , so they helped us to book a taxi. If I go to Chiang Mai again, I think I will stay at Le Meridien.
Comfortable and centrally located hotel”
This was a place which was very well located. The Night Bazaar is located in front and by the side of the hotel and you just couldn't miss it at all. There were plenty of Taxis, tuk tuks and Song Theau's driving around there and even had car rental shops right next door. Fast food chains were also a stone's throw away so you know that you are in the thick of the action there. Walking to the Anusarn Night Market is a breeze and the larger weekend market in the old city is a short 15 - 20 minute walk. The rooms were up to expectations and service was fast and good as well. The bed was very comfortable and toilet was also fitted with good furnishings. We had a comfortable stay and had absolutely no issues with the hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I were travelling to Chiang Mai.
Never let me down”
Probably my first time at Le Meridien Chiangmai. As SPG member, I expected high standard of hotel and staffs. It was impressive staying a night there, the room is perfect, the staffs were friendly and helpful and breakfast was superb. Looking forward to coming back again for accommodation near night market in Chiang Mai.
Simply excellent”
Excellent from the first minute . We were upgraded to a suite and the room was perfect in every detail. The staff from the front desk to the room stewardess were polite , accommodating and extremely helpful in every way. Great location in the heart of the main night bazaar area. I highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return for my next stay in Chiang Mai
Convenient location”
This is my first time to Chiang Mai for overnight stay in hotel. Had a horrible experience at the airport with the two ladies instructing and ordering the tourists for Taxi. Nightmare. But when i reached my first stay hotel, my anger was all gone. I received a warm welcomed by the hotel concierge, then another welcome from the reception and was escorted to the VIP lounge since all my three rooms were on the club floor. Our stayed in Le Meridien hotel was very good. The hotel is located in a area where downstairs has night market by front and behind is also a night market bazaar. Hotel room seems like very new, maybe just renovated. The staffs are very helpful. For breakfast, we still preferred to consume our downstair rather than club floor.
Elegant and Convenient”
I appreciate a lot of the room design of the hotel, which is comfortable and elegant. Check-in was quick and courteous. The room setting, facilities and design are all up to my expectation. The gym is good. Staff service was excellent. Some minor cons are: the air-cond inside room is noisy, the pool is too small and cannot be exposed to sunlight during morning time, the breafast was good but far below 5-star hotel standard and the cafe was not well-illuminated. Wifi seems unstable sometimes. After all, I would return again because it's a very good hotel at this price. I will recommend it to anyone who prefers to stay near Night Market of Chiang Mai.
It suited our purpose very well”
If shopping is on your itineray, Le Meridien Chiang Mai is definitely the hotel for you. It is so strategically located and made the trip more enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The deal offered to us was very good and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Chiang Mai.
