Great luxury hotel near waterfront and nightlife”
Really nice luxury hotel in walking distance to near the waterfront and nightlife. Level 14 has a nearly opened rooftop sky bar which would be probably the best location in Kota Kinabalu. There is also a special private club lounge on level 14 which is worth the daily upgrade if you take advantage of the amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner buffers and drinks. The hotel feels brand new and there was lots to see and explore within the complex. The pool on Level 2 is great relief to avoid the day time heat. The daily night market and other markets are very close by which are worth visiting to see more of the real Kota Kinabalu culture. We highly recommend this hotel for couples, groups and for business conferences. We attended a Wedding dinner on Level 3 and the service and atmosphere were excellent.
My husband and I came into Kota Kinabalu 2 days earlier than expected and stayed at another hotel until our reservation at Le Meridien. We were eager to leave the other hotel, so we checked out early and headed to Le Meridien. Reception was courteous in informing that the room was not ready yet (we didn't expect it to be because we were a few hours early), but they would be happy to take our luggage so we could have a drink in the lounge while we waited. After a few excellent cocktails and a snack we were able to check in with no delay. The suite was superb and we were extra delighted that we had a view of the harbour and the night market across the street. We only regretted that we hadn't know to make the reservation for the two days before.
The Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu was an excellent choice for my family. With good value for money. Located in a central place with easy access to the city, wharf and shopping centres. Rooms were spacious and clean, with prompt service from the concierge and other services. Staff were polite and attentive, willing to accede to special requests for Christmas (with regards to their donation drive for charity). An excellent hotel and would definitely go back there.
It is a must stay hotel in Kota Kinabalu for family trip. Hotel provide a first class service (concierge, reception, room service, food &beverages), friendly staffs and hospitality. It has one of the best Seaview from the room. Basically you can spend the whole day in the room while enjoying sunrise to sunset! Hotel buffet for Lunar New Year Eve was yummy and lots to choose from. Serving staffs are polite and welcoming with smiles. It has a very nice view when visiting the rooftop in a pleasant day. Definetly recommended to friends and relatives who would like to have a well earned holiday in Kota Kinabalu. Thank you for your excellent service!
Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu”
Enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu. Could not fault any aspect of the 3 night stay. Even gave us two interconnecting rooms without asking. Friendly staff always willing to do extra, e.g. gave us a late check out when requested and supplied a letter for insurance when bag handle broke on arrival at hotel. Hotel room was clean and spacious with good selection of toiletries. Service and food at breakfast was of a high quality. Fast elevators that work! Great position close to shopping centres (Centrepoint was great for shopping) and many good restuarant choices nearby. Would definitely stay there again.
A relaxing oasis in KK”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, and hope to be able to stay there again on another occasion. The Meridien is conveniently located along the waterfront, is close to many eateries of all sorts and also next door to the Centrepoint Mall. -- In terms of facilities, the hotel offers everything one would need; comfortable rooms, a scrumptious buffet breakfast, a clean refreshing pool and thoroughly professional staff. -- For dinner, try the Korean restaurant across the road (you can see it on your left as you exit the hotel) OR go to Kohinoor Indian Restaurant on the Waterfront.
Perfect for relaxing”
Le Meridien in Kota Kinabalu is an efficiently-run hotel, perfect for a relaxing stay. Although the price I paid per night was rather steep, at least the hotel delivered all they promised. The room was spacious, fully-appointed and sported the most wonderfully comfortable bed. The included buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of tasty food. In addition, the pool was clean and wonderfully refreshing. -- I would definitely consider staying there again.
The location very strategic. The facilities very satisfied. The staff are very helpful. Love it!”
We like to stay this hotel because it very near to Jamilah Jewellery and Pasar Kraftangan (Souviner). Just take around 5 minute only. Besides, near to the Night market and others attractive places such as Sabah State Museum, Signall Hill Observatory and Atkinson Tower. When you stay here, you can see the wonderful view of Kota Kinabalu town from your room. Such amazing experience. Thanks Le Mèridian!
Relaxing stay in a great environment”
Excellent stay at the Kota Kinabalu Meridian. Really enjoyed our 3 nights there. Felt like we were staying somewhere nice and meant we could relax. The pool was enjoyable and usually very quiet. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Only complaint was the very noisy room when we arrived. We were on the 5th floor up but on the same side of the hotel as the night club downstairs and the music was far too loud in the room - we could hear the words of the music not just the 'thump thump'. Phoned to get moved (11.30pm) and we were moved to a lovely sea view room down one floor within 30 minutes which was quiet! Pleased with the way it was dealt with. We didn't have to go to the airport till mid afternoon so checked out and then went to the pool which was no problem. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we hope to go back.
Lovely sea view from hotel”
Good location with nice sea view. We are enjoy and relax for holiday. Beside this, Le Meridien hotel is heart of city and 20 minutes to airport. It very convenience to go shopping around. The breakfast provided also good and satisfy. The staffs of Le Meridien kota Kinabalu hotel is very welcome and friendly. I will introduce to my friend to stay at this hotel.
a good hotel to stay in Kota Kinabalu”
Le Meridien is one of the perfect places to stay in Kota Kinabalu. The location is at the city center making it accessible to the night market and famous Philippine Market. The hotel is also surrounded by a mall in case you forgot to bring your basic amenities during traveling. Public transport is also easy to get. The hotel facilities are complete e.g. fitness center, free wifi, variety breakfast options and etc.
Wonderful spacious rooms”
Le Meridien in Kota Kinabalu is perfectly situated in the centre of town opposite the handicraft market and boardwalk restaurants. Views from the front of the hotel are of the South China see and the Abdul Tamal Island National Park while views from the back overlook a typical Malaysian town and Mt Kinabalu's peak in the distance, the highest mountain in SE Asia.
It was a short but sweet 3-night stay with my 2 kids. My daughter, who flew in from Singapore to meet us mad it even more special. Great bonding time in the perfect hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Special mention goes to concierge Mr. Dino Raquiza who never fails to make sure we are okay and always smiling and ready assist our every need, no matter how small. Hats off Le Meridien! We'll definitely be back!!
Due to a very unfortunate incident at the airport, my fiancé and I could not proceed to stay at le meridian . However although it was a non refundable booking, they have agreed to refund 50% off the original amount to ease the pain of what had happened to is upon arrival to kota Kinabalu.

Very conveinience if you are go for business trip, the banking transaction can be done by very easily because it surrounded by many bank ie public, alliance, standard chartered, hong leong, HSBC, cimb....
Nice hotel, worth it”
Arrived and checked in and the reception staff gave a very pleasant welcome and thumbs up for all of the staff because of the professionalism. The most important thing that I love about the hotel is that we are treated with well mannered and smile, full of courtesy. Keep it up guys. Will look forward to have another trip to Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu.
A short term stay”
This is a great choice if you are in Kota Kinabalu for a short term stay.It is chean, smart and excellent value for money.Location is good, staff are friendly. It was great staying at Le Meridien as agoda made it easy to book on line and still enjoy the special price.
While the hotel is generally slightly dated, the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the facilities were sufficient. The rooms were also large and spacious and the hotel itself is in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. At the buffet breakfast, when they realised my family was vegetarian, they asked if we required them to specially prepare something additional to what was was already available. If I were to go back Kota Kinabalu, Le Meridien would my choice again.
A good hotel which is worth to stay”
Le Meridien is located in the city centre which is proximity to handicraft market, KK esplanade, Warisan Square, Centre Point. The room is big, clean and tidy. I stayed for 2 nights on 27-29 Oct 2009 and booked a superior room with reasonable price which incl. bfast and free internet, and seaview. Although the swimming pool is not big, the male changing room is equipped with jaccuzzi, sauna (both steam and dry). I will definitely stay again and recommend everybody to stay when travelling Kota Kinabalu.
Real 5-star experience”
I've been visiting KK for several times because of work, but this is my first time I tried Le Meridien. Maybe due to better offers by other 5-star hotels perhaps. But I'd to say the moment I step into the lobby I was really impressed; this is how a 5-star hotel should be. The staffs are really helpful and awesomely friendly; even though I'm in a business suit they still treat me like I'm special. The room is spacious, tidy, plentiful of bottled water. Just a bit comment here; the TV remote's button is giving away perhaps, because I need to press it really hard for me to change the channel. And if you may, please provide a comb as well. The breakfast buffet also I can one of the best I had in hotels at KK. There are bountiful choices, the taste is good. I can't suggest for more; except more food here hahaha! Location wise, for me Le Meridien is located at the most strategic area in KK. Almost everything is within the walking distance. Overall, I'm really happy and impressed with Le Meridien. Definitely I'd recommend and would return again (if the offer is good hehe).
