Must love pyramids”
This hotel does have an amazing view of the pyramids, which is surreal to look at 5,000 years of history across from you! However after seeing the pyramids and spending a day at the pool with them in sight, it’s about a one hour slog each way into downtown Cairo - which is actually very quaint and fun to explore. I was thus disappointed I was so far away from the “cool” part of Cairo. What I would recommend is spending a couple days downtown to take in that vibe and save time sitting in the car, then spend a final night or two at Le méridien visiting the pyramids and chilling in the pool. I wasted a day just put off by the long drive to and from downtown. Buffet breakfast is awesome, lots of variety. Spa was also nice but on pricier side. (other than in the buffet room where they were excellent) Service is slow and you need to go and find staff yourself at the pool and restaurants. The reception were actually downright rude. May be a language barrier but very unhelpful

Decent Location and Hotel - Terrible Wifi Access”
The Le Meridian has a lot going for it. Beautiful location overlooking the pyramids, a great pool and spa facility, and easy access to the pyramids. They were also helpful to let me leave my bags there overnight when I went camping in the desert (which request they initially refused). The dinner buffet was average at best and unremarkable in any way. However, our stay was overshadowed by the very poor wifi connection which they provided in the lobby. The charge for wifi in the room was exorbinant, so we relied on the free signal in the lobby. But the signal was totally unreliable and frustrating. Even worse, when I complained to the manager, he took zero responsibility, and said that he couldn't do anything about it, because it was a 3rd party service. Sorry Le Meridien, you have to take responsibility for the services you claim to provide. I would have to think long and hard about staying here again, simply because of the wifi access.

Pyramid view room as promised!”
Great location , walking distance to the pyramids. Gas station / convenience store nearby. Good food, outdoor area lovely along with a heated and non heated pool. Spent another 2 weeks travelling Egypt after this stay and wish all hotels could be like this one

View of pyramids right across the road.”
The staff were so friendly and helpful. They arranged a private tour guide and limousine taxi driver so I could explore the pyramids, Memphis, The Citadel and the Egyptian Museum comfortably and easily. There is very good security upon arrival and a 24-hour armed guard with dog. My only disappointment was that my room did not have a kettle or coffee supplies.

Great view but average room.”
The Meridien is one of 3 hotels that are within walking distance of the pyramids. The exterior appearance of the hotel is plain and the lobby is quite ordinary. The garden is where things get better: the view of the pyramids is exquisite. The pools are very nice and well maintained. There are only 2 restaurants at the hotel: a buffet-style restaurant (also used for breakfast) and a Mexican restaurant. We ate at both. The quality of the food was good for the price and the portion sizes very big. We stayed at a standard room with king-size bed and pyramid view. As you can expect the view is spectacular. However, the room amenities are below average and some of them are notoriously missing, such as the coffee maker. There is an empty minibar fridge and an old-style CRT TV. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The in-room safe was not locking. Overall the hotel offers good value and we were quite satisfied. We’d recommend it to someone planning on staying in Giza.

The hotel is in the best location just by the pyramids so it is easy access to visit them. The rooms were clean and I had a nice view of the pool from my room. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Rooms need an update”
Our room had a dead roach in it and some stains on the carpet. It could use a refresh for sure. The internet WiFi was not reliable at all. The food was good but fairly expensive considering other options in Cairo ($15 per person for breakfast buffet and $8 per beer). Still a good location and a nice enough hotel for our purposes this time. You can see the pyramids from the pool, which is fairly awesome.

Inflexible staff”
Stay was good, but unfortunately we were not given interleading rooms with our young children: told on numerous occasions that it was not available , and placed on a smoking floor the first night. I wonder whether they read the requests that are submitted??? Also, make sure that you book a renovated room. The older rooms are not as nice. There are no hairdryers in the rooms. No irons. But can be requested. Wifi in lobby is extremely slow. No wifi in rooms. They DO NOT vacuum the rooms on a daily basis . We accosted the poor cleaner to vacuum our room! The fitness centre is really good. Pyramid view rooms are stunning.

Great location, worn down hotel”
Hotel is convenient and as you expect for amenities. Rooms include a comfortable down bed, large windows, cable tv, and all the necessary toiletries. The money change office with its long hours is a huge plus. I never changed money but I stopped by to break the larger bills for tip money (a must in this country!). Not smoke-free. A smoke-free table at the restaurant is merely a table in the middle of a large room on which there is not ashtray. The table next to you could very well be for smokers. Staff is extremely friendly but the wait staff in restaurants and cafe often are distracted and overworked. Hugely disappointed that the hotel doesn't include a couple bottles of complimentary water. In a desert climate and an expensive hotel, the least they can do is include water when most other Meridiens already do.

Old hotel ”
Came for the view but it's really quite underwhelming. If you are a single traveller, they will put you in a corner room that looked like a prison cell even if you have paid for a premium room with view. And it's still quite a distance from the entrance of the pyramids , not 700meters as described on webpage. Internet connection as ancient as the pyramids.

THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING. ”
Horrible experience. got Ruined in Meridian. Whatever you ask, the front desk guys, dont respond. In fact, they make u wait for a long time, even if it is not crowded. THEY DONT TAKE CARE OF GUESTS. Whatever, we asked, they just answered NO, we dont know. Image of Le meridian is lost. There are very many good hotels closer to the Pyramids. Pls think Twice before booking.
