We got the cheapest room and it was great . The resort is very beautiful , much better than the pictures . The beach is by far the best one on the island . The 2 out of 3 restaurants are good . I only have to negative comments for this place : Way too much chlorine in the pool and beach security guard should be more on the look out for out of the hotel guest sitting on beach chairs .. other than that its great . We will be back for sure !
Good location, excellent transfer service (Pier to Hotel & back) Recommended hotel in Koh Samed!
Quiet Koh Samet option”
Very good hotel. Beautiful chalets not far from the beach or central facilities. Very good and friendly staff. Excellent food. Beautiful beech and sea access. Pick up and drop off from/to mainland very efficient. On arrival you have to pay 400 baht per person for National Park entry. We were not warned to expect this. Should be in the hotel price. Hotel a little bit pricey compared to some similar. But still a lovely place
Wonderful and relaxing time at Le Vimarn. Attentive staff, excellent facility, quiet side of the island. This resort is one of two best places to stay in Koh Samet.
Not worth the price”
The hotel has a wonderful location and pool is pretty nice. But the service and rooms amenities are not 5 stars level. For 10k thb per night, the breakfast is a real scam. I would rather stay at Ao prao resort (pick the renovated room)
I was a bit hit and miss for me. If i had to pay full price i would habe been very disapointed but in saying that i thought after riding alot around the island it had to be one of if not the best location for hotel. Nice beach and pretty goid swimming pool.the room was awesum and i stayed alot in thailand. The big disapointment was foid, the menu i had no idea what it was and having my thai gf with me i asked why is no thai food only to be tokd it was on another menu, but no one offered it,the food was expensive omg, about the most i ever spent, better to go over 2 hotels and us restraunt out the front with good food and half the price. The breakfast was average to be nice, never ever seen fresh bread there and bacon was hrs old. As i said the room the location is beautiful but as a 5 star hotel the foid was crap. Ohhh and all taxi are 200baht. And DO NOT hire motorbikes from near hotel. What a freaken rip off. 500 baht a day fir a total piece of crab dangerous bike i went threw 2 in a day and tokd them to get stuffed and keep money and keep the bike the other thing was a big problem as they keep your passport but just keep it in a draw on a small table outside out in the open. Anyone can access it,.but i would stay again at this hotel but only f i got the bg discount again
Fantastic location on the beach”
We've been many times and will be back. The boat transfer is included but that was not of much use when we went as there was no more place on the boat (we did arrive relatively late at the pier) so we had to take the private boat. The rooms have been renovated recently it seems. The beach is great and relatively quiet, with beautiful sunsets. Fire show on the beach in a nearby restaurant. Great for a weekend trip.
Nice to return”
We had not been here for a few years and it was nice to return to the beautiful Ao Prao bay on Koh Samet, this time with visitors. The hotel has low rise buildings overlooking the sea. The beach is one of the best near Bangkok with nice white sand and trees. Because of this, you also pay a premium rate during weekend (but speedboat transfer is included). Overall, a great weekend getaway.
Just a great Gate away from the busy Bangkok. Perfect for families or lovers. Great location, service and comfortable room. If you need entertainment choose the other side of the Island since Ao Prao is quiet with neither bars or anything close to an entertainment place. If you need rest, romantic feeling or peaceful place for your family, go for it. Be aware that the dining is not cheap since there is no Plan B around.
Problems to be fixed”
1. Personnel was not operational enough and did not manage to organise dinner on the beach despite the good weather conditions; 2. The green fence protecting the plants from monsoon spoils the reputation of a 5 star hotel; If it is highly needed for protecting the plants there must also be a way of making it more appealing; 3. Mosquitos - is the biggest problem of the place, especially sunbathing on the beach - we were bitten more than 10 times each and got a serious skin irritation. Mosquitos can be eliminated by taking care of hotel ponds, taking sunbathing beds further from the green area and placing a special machines for attracting mosquitos with CO2.
Very relaxing with great views and excellent room.”
If relaxation with a romantic atmosphere is on your mind this is the place. No load Bars outdoor and indoor restaurant to high standard. Not cheap and don't bring your own bottle of wine unless you are happy to pay 500 baht corkage, but on the whole a very comfortable place for a short stay. Not a lot to do without going outwith the resort for entertainment. Remember to go to the correct to “Seree Ban Phe pier” for the free shuttle ferry. Once there everything is taken care of till you arrive at the hotel.
Very quiet location.”
Great resort for someone who likes peace and quite. It was to quiet for us. We hired an ATV and rode around to Sumed both nights as that was where all the action was. The only complaint I had about my stay was the squeaky bed considering it was a romantic couple/ honey moon resort.
Lovely cottages and garden over the beach”
The hotel is quite nice and the beach is good. The garden and the room was always clean. Breakfast was acceptable. The two restaurants (thay and italian) are good. The two other resorts on the beach are just next to this one. It is very convenient but was quite a disappointment as we thought we would be far from other hotels. There are some boats coming and going from the beach so it gets a little bit noisy, but nothing compared with other turistic beaches in thailand. I would stay again. It is specially recommended for families with young children. The spa is also good, but a bit overpriced.
Lovely quiet resort”
to stay at the le virman cottages and spa is a real opportunity for having a relaxing vacation in a place where there is very quiet and still not to far from beaches with more evening life. the restuarants at the resort and at the resorts next to are very nice and serve good food.
Very well kept resort and more than helpful staff”
On our arrival the reception staff were less than welcoming and seemed to be having a bad day. however.... The staff at the resort were extremely friendly especially toward our young children. The resort itself was very clean and well kept though prices can be a little steep. The beach is child friendly and extremely clean and constantly cleaned and maintained. Two resteraunts to choose from within the resort however the resort shares the beach with two other resorts where you can also dine, however if you want to use the other resorts real estate on the beach a small charge is incurred.
Superb relaxing but too expensive”
the hotel have a very goods service starting from speed boat from the mainland and back. the staff and room are pretty good. the beach are quite and relaxing. breakfast is excellent. however, i think the price is too expensive.
Great Location, wonderful beach.”
A great hotel with a truly 'get away from it all' location. staff were excellent. Rooms just right for style and size. Food choice both Thai and western were excellent. Able to use an adjacent hotel's (from the same group)resuarant and charge to your account.
Beautiful beach resort”
the best resort on koh samet, relaxing private beach, excellent swimming pool. room is of a very high standard. only con would be the room price, but we were there on a national holiday. rooms are available cheaper at other times of the year.
We'd been before, the kids love this place, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. The service is really friendly and efficient, from the speed boat service to any requests you have for your room. The layout of the resort is beautiful - clean, comfortable rooms in a natural setting, the beach is right there and a nice pool overlooking the sea as well. Wonderfully relaxed and natural. Breakfast is a good start to the day - a very nice selection and great location with a view of the sea. The beach is perfect for kids - safe swimming and some snorkeling on the rocks at either side. Some trees for shade with loungers, towel service etc. Again, convenient but natural. You can hire canoes from just up the beach if you want to go snorkeling further out. There are just two other resorts on this beach so it never gets too crowded. The Italian restaurant at Le Vimarn has great pizza from the wood fired oven and some really delicious pasta dishes. There are also restaurants at the other two resorts to visit for a bit of variety. Reception can organize a taxi service to some of the other beaches on Ko Samet if you need a day or evening trip away but really this is the nicest beach on Ko Samet. All in all, what a wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy life with the family!
Best holiday hotel”
we been to the hotel only one night. but we really appriciate the hotel reception from baan pae. they are very customer service. nice welcome drink. italian food are very superb, love it a lot. cannot finish it b'cause it is too much just for two. good. the room are nice condition. very exceptation for the price and love the service there, beautiful service. they also have beach securities guard. what a great resort! love. very recommended.
