A good resort hotel maintaining its high standards”
we have been visiting cherating periodically for the last 25 years. sadly, cherating is dying as a top tourist attraction on malaysia's east coast, with very low occupancy levels. however, the legend resort has bravely maintained its high standards. our room was newly renovated to far more modern style. the beach front and its activities and the 3 swimming pools are as good as ever. all the hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. they are all doing their best to keep cherating alive. all the tourism operators should get together with the state tourism ministry to completely renovate cherating as an international and local attraction.

2 Nights Staying In Legend Cherating Beach Resort”
Overall, this is a very good resort (2 times staying in this resort within a month). My kids like very much the environment there especially the swimming pool, beach so beautiful & comfortable. Here, I'd like to give credit to staffs in Legend Cherating Beach Resort as they are so helpful, understanding & passionate in handling customer request. However, there're some area might need to improve especially entertainment events during night time. Tq.

Modern comfortable hotel in a lovely setting”
The Legend Resort is a very pleasant hotel located right on the beach at Cherating. The rooms are large and modern and ours had a balcony and ocean views. The staff was very friendly and helpful and a self service laundry is available which is very handy for travellers. Free internet is supposedly available in the hotel lobby area. The beach is good and there are water sport activities available. However, as is the case with many Malaysian beaches, there is a fair bit of rubbish (plastics, bottles, cans etc.) washed up and strewn all over the beach. A regular clean-up would not go astray!

My family and I had a wonderful time enjoying the rooms, the swimming pool, the playground and the food. My son was extremely pleased with the ATV ride. Value for money”
Twas my second or third time here. Went to a short 4D3N stay for the kids' school hols. I know tis not the time with the monsoon season and all. but the weather was really kind to us as we had mild sunshine throughout. rain came when we were done with the beach or pool. As for the hotel, they have spruce it up since the last time we came. we took the double beds room which came with a sofa bed. comfy, clean and most importantly, no bedbug bites. The breakfast was just ok but cherating has plenty of local eateries outside so food was not a problem. housekeeping was prompt and friendly. My kids enjoyed themselves which was most important to me. The only thing to upkeep was the pools which needs cleaning. keep up the maintenance work, Legend Cherating and this place will be a keeper. :)

At first we plan to stay at the hotel for 3 nights, but we add another night because we love the pool so much. The room was really clean comfortable with amazing view of the beach. Will surely stay again in The Legend Resort if we go to Cherating again.

A very nice white sand beach & freindly pools”
We were enjoyed during stayed in Legend Cherating even its only one day. That was the 1st time my son 2years old get to the pool. It was a very great beach with nice view. although the hotel look so old but the cleanliness is superb. We will be surely come back here if we going to Cherating!!

book thru interneti is much cheaper!”
I check most of Kuantan hotels price via internet before we make the trip to Cherating, Kuantan. From the internet, the most reasonable price for a 3-4* hotel is Legend Resort. Due to my husband not able to confirm his availability, I did not booked the Legend resort before we go. We decided to go to Cherating in last minutes. I brought along my notebook and thought that we can book there and then via hotel internet and get a cheaper price since there is internet connection in the hotel. I tried to connect but failed to connect to any of the booking site. So, I called my friend and got him to book for me via internet. I thought I can check-in by given the reservation number. However, the receptionist politely told me to wait till she access my reservation information from the on-line agent system. I waited for more then half an hour and she didn't come back to the desk. When I ask the other staff to check for me, she told me that the connection is slow and they cannot connect to the agent system. Finally, I have to get my friend to send the reservation mail to Legend reservation mail id. It take them >2 hours to receive the mail. Finally, I decided not to wait and just check-in first. It is quite a surprise to me when this happened to both hotels I stayed. The internet facility is poor and please don't expect the same broadband experience that you might have in your house. Generally the hotel staffs is polite and friendly. The swimming is quite big and beautiful. the beach is just right in front, next to the swimming pool. However, the facility is a bit run down compare with new Gambang resort we jsut stayed before moving into Legend resort. I think it is value for money and this time I will make sure I booked it via internet and print the reservation confirmation before going there! .... Sally.

quiet beachfront hoteliers”
We had a relaxing time. Walking the white sandy beach, eating at local food restaurants good Chinese next door and beach restaurant and bar. Excellent choice available of local foods and lovely owners helpful and English speaking. Cherating village 10 minute drive away is a sleepy town with river trips and sightseeing available. Hotel breakfast had good malaysian cuisine to choose from and western options egg station particularly a favourite. Big swimming pools and big gym area to use also. Recommend a sea facing room with balcony mine on 5 th floor had beautiful views.

A comfortable and relaxing stay at The Legend”
The Agoda hotel arrangement was well managed as no question asked when the booking slips was presented to the hotel staff. My request for a ground floor room was immediatle accepted by the staff. My childern were happy to enjoy the snooker game after dinner while I enjoyed the music and songs from the stage next to the snooker table. My wife was happily reading the book from the library-- It was a relaxing night before we adjourn to our room for a good night sleep. I have been staying in The Legend every time my family wish to go to the Cherating. I will go to Legend again in the next East Coast trip. My only disappointment was there was no expressed recognition that I had put up in Legend for at least 4 times over the years.

A Memorable Holiday”
The hotel has a nice architecture and a warm and cosy feel. Its location on the beach is awesome. There is continuity from the hotel to the pool to the beach and to the sea. The pool is huge with a lovely gazebo in the middle and bar stools in the water. There are facilities for beach games and the sea is wonderful. The breakfast spread was quite lavish. The staff is courteous and friendly. However, we found the restaurant expensive. It will be quite a sum for a family of 4 if they stay for 2 days and eat all meals there. There are good indoor games facilities but all activities are not functional. We had left for Redang from Cherating very early in the morning. The hotel packed us a good breakfast much before the restaurant opened for the day. I had visited the hotel with my wife and two children. Overall, all of us enjoyed very much and we had a memorable holiday.

Lovely Hotel - Great Sea View ”
the hotel is situated right on the beach front, and the view from the room was amazing. food around the hotel was mainly malay cuisine – there was only one restaurant in the periphery of 5 km that served chinese cuisine – and this restaurant was right next to the hotel. many of the malay restaurants were closed, i guess it’s because of the off peak season. beer is scantily available in the town of cherating, so make sure you have stocked enough.

Best Hotel Bed Ever Slept In”
It didn't start well as upon check-in was told that the room with large bed, as requested while booking, was unavailable. The excuse was the room was under maintenance. It was quite a long way to the room, from the lobby and we spent the time counting how many rooms are there and if the excuse given was true. However, when we entered the room, the twin beds aren't of the normal single beds but rather the so called American single. Shower time was a real luxury as the bathroom is equipped with a modern system, a large disc on the ceiling that makes you feel like bathing in the rain, plus another head on the wall....we know that this hotel is one of the oldest in Cherating, so they must have spent a fortune installing these new shower sets. And, oooh....the bed. Sleeping-in on a weekend was so easy on these beds....you don't feel like waking up and checking out.

Short vacay”
This is my third times visiting Cherating and this is my first time check-in to the Legend Resort Cherating. I loved the view of the beach and sea because at this season the waves not so strong and 'heavy'. My children really enjoy the pool and beach. The pool was so convenient because it sort into 3 pools with different level of depth. Not only that, there is also a rabbit farm and small playground which extra for children activity. I am so lucky as our room was pool view because during the booking session, it just stated garden view only available. I would like to thank to all staff and management for their good hospitality. I hope the room can be upgrade in the sense of new furniture, television and bathroom. Sure will come again.

A very nice hotel by the sea”
Great place to stay. We used to stay at the hotel next door for many years during our routine festivities road trip and decided to give this hotel a try. Worth the money based on room size, location and amenities. Children will love the pool(s) and playground. We were back and forth between the beach and the pool. Loved the whole set up. Will definitely stay there again if we were to pass by Cherating.

Brilliant Stay!”
We stayed at Legend Resort for our high school reunion. Altogether 14 mixed rooms, 9 booked thru Agoda (would have booked all through Agoda, but was not allowed). There were about 63 of us, mostly families with young kids. The hotel was superb in providing facilities and space for our activities, with an excellent pool and clean beach. Sports facilites were also abundant to keep everyone busy day & night. Check-in & out was super fast, with room numbers already assigned the day before our arrival. The superior standard rooms were large, and can accomodate a small family comfortably. Special mention for the Frontdesk Manager and the Security Manager, for their excellent PR in handling us lot. Good service guys! Would definitely return here for our next visit!

Don't judge a book by its cover”
the legend resort is a very nice hotel, looks quite old on the appearance, however, when we see inside the room, it is clean, new and big. each room has balcony, and fortunately, we got sea-view room, very nice and peaceful.the room also provides iron and iron-board,hair-dryer.the bathroom is spacious, modern and clean. the location of the hotel is also very strategic, near to lots of keropok and satar stalls.the pool also good, while the beach is clean and well maintained.breakfast is delicious, but not too luxurious.however, the parking lot are quite limited and quite far from the room. the staffs are helpful, friendly, and efficient. overall, this hotel is worth its value.the interior of the room is much more important to us compare to the exterior, since we just want to relax, walking at the beach, and sight-seeing.

Deteriorating”
Have been a regular at this resort for the past 10years, and it's a shame to see it from being one of the premier resorts in Cherating become a mediocre one. I must congratulate the grounds staff for keeping the surrounding area clean and nice but the rooms are a totally different matter. I was 'lucky' to be put into one of the so called refurbished rooms. I can tell they tried their best to maximize refurbishment with minimum funds. Paint splatter, newly painted cupboards albeit cobwebs inside, ceiling fan only on maximum speed, AC temp that you cannot control, doors that have to be slammed shut, shower curtain that belong in an hourly rate hotel (mouldy and dirty), c'mon how much does a shower curtain cost? All bad things aside, the beach is still super so is the pool, kudos on that. Anyway, all that said I still like this resort and will return again.

Sea sport activities not always available.”
Cons: (1) Boatman not available on Friday to bring us for snorkelling trip. (2) Big waves. Not good for sea activities in certain seasons. In the end, we have to venture out of the resort to find activities. (3) Not too much of land activities & sight-seeing. Some are pretty expensive. (4) Food serving a little slow. It will be good that if hotel guests have their own car to drive around the area to find more activities around Cherating than staying in the resort. Pro: (1) Beautiful sun, sand and beach. (2) Many good & recommended restaurant and activities out of the resort. (3) Good services by the friendly hotel receptionists. For example, we arrange for packed breakfast at 3.15am in the morning and they did it on time for us. (4) Rooms are clean and neat.
