Wonderful”
My wife and I arrived at Lek house after an extremely long day of travelling and were greeted by the owner who gave us the warmest welcome and told us that we had been upgraded to the Jacuzzi Room for no extra charge! The hotel itself is very nice, having lovely, well maintained rooms, a small swimming pool, and a very nice bar and restaurant area. The hotel is a short walk from all of the major attractions in the city center and we would definitely stay here again if we were in Chiang Rai.
Decent budget option”
Great relaxing and quiet short stay at the Lek House. Only a few rooms seems occupied, but it was the low season. Travelled solo and stayed in the Queen Room with Fan, which was fine even I was there in the middle of a heatwave. The staff are friendly and efficient with check-in/check-out very fast and freshly prepare breakfast every morning. The room was clean with a large bathroom and a comfortable bed. The shower was quite hot with reasonable power. Free toiletries were provided along with towels and bedding. The WIFI was stable and reasonably fast whenever I used it. The location is quiet yet near many restaurants, cafes, banks and shops and 5 minutes walk to the Clock Tower and 10 minutes walk to the bus station/Night Bazaar. On the negative side, I had difficulties putting plugs into the sockets and the room could do with more hanging/storage space. This hotel is very suitable for a short stay or if you want to reduce costs, although for longer term another hotel may be more appropriate.
Helpful staff”
We had only 1 night at Lek House in Chiang Rai and the Burmese staff managed to arrange a taxi willing to take us to visit the Golden Triangle. Thanks for making our visit special.
Great Hotel and great staff”
Really enjoyed Lek House. Worth the money, clean and perfect for a good sleep. It takes you about 15 minutes to walk to the centre and it is really quiete which was a must for me as you do not get any noise from the main tourist points. Willd ef. stay here again. P.S: For breakfast you only get 2 toasts with your egg and ham but they give yo butter and marmelade as well. I'm a boy who enjoys eating, so i kept askign for more toast. they never refused. I always got 4 - 2 they gave and 2 more I asked. they even did othe regg for me lol. So do not be afraid of asking for more toast lol.
Nice place”
Lek house was walking distance to everything within the town. The room was really nice and specious and had windows to open to get a fresh breeze in. The bathrooms offered no private though with no doors and only a wall going up half way to the roof so if you are sharing with others and value your privacy whilst in the bathroom you may want to reconsider staying here. The staff were lovely and the food was great, including the breakfast. The pool would have been lovely but was starting to turn green and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was also no area to sit around the pool so if you are into sunbaking than this isn't the place for you. Overall though it was a lovely stay.
nice quiet places - an easy walk to sights, etc.”
we stayed three nights at lek house. there were only a few parties staying there so it was quiet. the room was comfortable, good shower and details were done nicely. it was cool at night so we did not need the ac, but it worked well when we turned it on. the service was good and the included breakfast was fine. there was a small pool, but give the cool weather, it did not get any use. good place at a good price.
Only have positives to say about this wee gem ”
I only have good things to say about the lek house ,I always stay here when passing through chiang rai
Always happy with my stay at lek house ”
I travel a lot with work and pleasure ,normally I like to stay in different hotels, guest houses when in the same town , city, Yet the lek house seems to break the trend and I'm always happy with my stay there
Cute place, nice stay”
This was our first stay at Lek House, but our second time to Chiang Rai. I would definitely stay here again. The guesthouse was well-known to song taow and tuk tuk drivers so finding it was never a problem. The staff was polite and friendly and one of the women spoke English very well which really came in handy when we needed directions or suggestions. We stayed in one of the deluxe A/C rooms but had friends staying in the standard fan rooms too. There was about an $8 difference so just depends whether you want to spend a little more and get a little more. Standard rooms were very basic--nothing on the walls (except maybe the periodic table), bed, chair, towels, bathroom. Deluxe rooms had nicer decor, mini fridge and free water, A/C, TV with cable, very comfortable bed and comforter, soap and shampoo, towels. The whole place has free WiFi and breakfast was included. Breakfast consisted of two pieces of toast with orange jam and butter, a fried egg and tea or coffee with refills. Nice pool, but didn't use it--mostly in the shade except in the morning and no place to really sit/lay out. Safe, easy 10 - 15 min walk to the night bazaar and walking street. Lek House is definitely walkable from the old bus station (next to night bazaar). If you take a tuk tuk from the new bus station, costs around 100 - 120 baht for two people.
Our stay at the Lek House was wonderful!!!”
we enjoyed our stay at the lek house very much. the room was very clean and comfortable, the thai food at their restaurant was the best we have had & ting was so nice to us, she even drove us to the bus station when we left. the whole experience was wonderful!
Basic but adequate stay .”
Lek house is OK. It has good internet . It is basic but adequate. The photos are better than the reality. The rooms have a bathroom with 1/2 height walls so there is little privacy come toilet time and there is no chance of being discrete about tummy troubles! The pool has a cool design but it is the same disconcerting blue as the blue loo in the toilet. The breakfast is egg on toast with fruit. It is away from the back packer area and whilst it is an easy walk is still about 1k away from the main strip. Stop for a good coffee on the walk in though. It is set back from the street and you have to cross a moat to get is so it is quiet. Lek house is fine for the price. Chiang Rai is a smaller more authentic Thai town than Chiang Rai and we are glad we spent an extra day. Visit the funky Tung Gardens for your dose of kitsch and the night market has a fantastic open air food court with charcoal brazier hot pots ( careful there are two eating areas) . There are hill tribe people both the food market and night market.
Exactly what we needed”
A lovely little hotel with the bonus of a swimming pool and poolside bar. Room full of light and funky design with open bathroom, which may not suit all travellers but fine for a couple. Relaxing outdoor common areas, good wifi Internet, room has fridge. Quiet area but not far to walk to any attractions or night market in town. Breakfast average but that's not a problem for this price and other benefits of hotel. Would recommend and stay again when in chiang rai.
Very happy as usual”
When passing through Chiang rai I always stay at the lek house never disappointed
Good value for money and friendly staff”
Lek House is a good choice if you have a few nights in friendly Chiang Rai. Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable. There is even a small swimming pool directly at the bar!
always a pleasure to stay at lek house”
i have stayed at lek house many times .great location great staff and excellent value for money. thanks again agoda
Very nice place very helpful friendly staff”
All round the lek house was very good , I look forward to staying there my next visit ,highly recommended
not many complaints”
was a great stay for the most part. just outside of the busy streets so it doesnt really get loud. there is a swim up bar and great food. i would stay here again if i return to chiang rai.
Decent, affordable and friendly”
spent 4 days last week at lek house in one of the deluxe air-con rooms. it's a relaxed place that is quite stylish for the price-range. everything was clean and comfortable and, at just 10 minutes from the central clock tower, well located. the staff is friendly but there was a slightly weird vibe with what seemed like a resident bunch of old (german?) men who seemed always to be hanging around the lobby drinking beer. that was kind of creepy, but the other guests were friendly enough. would stay again.
great value, clean and accommodating”
Was greeted courteously, then shown to wrong room due to simple confusion. Mistake was quickly and apologetically corrected immediately. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was partitioned (not a separate room). Shower worked well w/ hot water, WiFi was good, AC was excellent. Bed was very firm as is typical, was well removed from the street and heard no noise from outside the room. Provided w/ several clean towels, 2 bottles water. Overall aesthetics were inexpensive but w/ a clear effort towards something nicer than standard. Especially suited for anyone needing a clean and fully functional place for a short stay focused on getting out and about the city/region. would definitely stay here again. I did not eat here but must respond to Agoda's ratings in order to submit the review
Good small hotel for short stay”
I stayed here 3 nights at baht a night. The rooms are ok, I think they are renevating them which is good as they are a little shabby. The main thing I would have changed is to have Mosquito nets on to cover the shutter gaps in the window - they can come in quite easily. Also the wc is part of the room, so no privacy if you need it. The restaurant has some quality food and at good value. There is a small pool which looks good for relaxing in the heat. Overall lek house is value for money and has a good location. Fine for a short stay.
